Track & Field / olympic trials
« on: July 05, 2016, 10:37:39 am »
Very interesting to see different countries criteria and the national trials, the UK trials were OK but they seem to struggle, but the US trials was on another level, they really are passionate about their athletes and push for them unlike in the UK. The criteria to qualify in USA was sub 10 seconds? correct me if im wrong. Justin gatlin won a good time. Jamaica trials was intense also, unfortunately for bolt's injury he couldn't compete, but yohan blake is not at the level to threaten bolt but gatlin definitely is getting back to his old self.

ye, pogba got up high, they measured it up to 9'06" high.
He is 6'3 giving him a vert of 39" i think.

but the other goals were also good, it shows how bad england were but iceland managed to get 2 goals.
looking forward to wales vs portugal

besides the long draught of goals in the second half and the extra time and the missed opportunities it was actually a good match, they both attacked and defended really well because portugal have been finding it hard to find the right tempo and poland did very well to get this far and both teams have great players especially the penalty. I was rooting for portugal and it ronaldo has just not been performing well at the euros.

:uhhhfacepalm: what is wrong with england, they can never pull it off. They always seem to lose out in the knockout stages.
they had a good team but didn't play well as a team. especially against iceland, which i know were the underdog.

But Iceland played well also despite the yellow card on every play in iceland lol.

England need to learn to play better as team and have better chemistry.

so, my brother disappeared again this afternoon. it is, as our other brother said to me on the phone just now, only a matter of time before he dies. which i guess, technically speaking, is true for all of us. but it feels a lot more immediate for him than it does for most 25 year olds i know.

this is, as you might imagine, motivation-sapping. i'm going to get some noodles and drink some beer and watch something distracting until i fall asleep.

Damn that must be hard for you as a brother as well. I hope everything turns out all right.

I also watched the anthony joshua fight, easy fight for joshua against brezealed and then when i watched highlights of eubank jr vs doran, eubank jr is just so confident especially during one of the rounds he was sticking his head out and missing most if not all of dorans punches, which you can see from the video below

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BjkKxncIoo" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BjkKxncIoo</a>

The part i was referring to starts at 1:03, confident or cocky.

He wants to fight golovkin and I see that going to golovkin easy, as I seen eubank jr he finds the opportunity and lunges in with the uppercuts but if he faces golovkin he would be missing alot of those shots and most likely will get knocked out.

it was an awesome fight an all out war, but not reckless war like vargas vs salido, its coordinated attacks from thurman and porter tried everything to rush him and take him out.

thurman was very good in his boxing especially his counters, were very deadly he had a very keen eye that even when it got messy he was able to time porter and throw in some good shots, especially those powerful shots porter walked into.

this is how i wanted may vs pac, they sort of resemble them in terms of style, porter with the staggering steps to fake as pacquiao does and thurman with his excellent counters and good defence.

porter did have heart, he would be careless at times, but it never bothered him, he would just jump in.
I would like to see thurman knock out danny garcia.

I think it would be better if I record my sprint and then time myself as lbss mentioned and maybe that would be more accurate.

before t0ddday blows a gasket: without a FAT system or video with a clear shot of the finish line it's impossible to time sprints that short with anything close to the degree of accuracy you're claiming. strong chance that your measurements are just wrong.

ye i agree with you, both my 30m and 60m times would have errors but the corellation between the two dont match if i am timing both the same way, why is my 60m way slower then my 30m.

if my time was really 4.4 seconds and 8.4 seconds. this would not make sense the 60m time should be a bit faster.

should be a great fight.. people have been looking forward to this for a long time.

not sure how Keith will look considering he's coming off that car accident and some prior injuries.. but, if he's in top form, I think he's winning this fight. Porter is no joke though, he's a bull.

top form Thurman = decision win... anything less, dno, could definitely go to Porter, he knows how to grind out fights.

i'll be hoping keith thurman wins though, big fan of his.

the PBC card starts around 9 PM ET i think.

I think you mistyped the date it should be 06/25/2016 not going to be picky about the name spelling lol

but ye it is an intriguing matchup, keith thurman has had a longer lay off then shawn who had a stay busy fight even if it was in his gym. and as you mentioned keith thurman's car accident.

keith had problem in knocking bundu out because of awkward (this spellings looks wrong but meh) so if shawn porter boxes moves he has good chance, keith relies on his power punch too much and shawn porter showed some flaws when he fought kell brook and got knocked down by adrien.

but intriguing to see what happens. I am a fan of both but I think porter maybe able to pull if off with a majority decision
