I hate spewing out information that "I've read but can't remember where" but I think I have something helpful to add:

I've read that your spine isn't well lubricated and it's decompressed when you wake up, but about an hour after standing up and walking around it's fine to squat heavy. Throw in warm-ups and I'm pretty sure you're 99% good to go, hence you've never had a problem with it  ;D

I have a pair of 9.0 size rogue do-wins. They're $119 on their website, but I'll sell them for $100 if anyone wants. I never wore them except to try them on. They were too small.

inb4 you use combine stats to try and prove me wrong because you're a moron.

After you said this I realized there's no winning with you.

No point in discussing with this guy.

Based on what?  NBA players jump just a bit lower than NFL players for standing vertical jumps (reach isn't deflated as much because reach/wingspan is much more important than jump in basketball), and for running jumps nba players probably jump higher. Speed wise you can't really tellbecause football kids are practicing 40 yard dashes since they are 13, basketball really just suicides and moron coaches have players run miles.

Huh???

Just because Kelly Baggett said football players are much more athletic doesn't mean it's true.

What does he have to do with this? NBA players aren't nearly as strong as NFL players, don't have faster 40's or 60's, or maybe even 100's, don't have as high SVJ and I'm assuming RVJ also since they run faster too....

Are you seriously disagreeing that the best athletes in america are pushed into and play football and basketball?

No. Many of the best atheletes go to play football and basketball, some make it into the NFL, and few make it into the NBA. I'm assuming here that skill is "more important" in basketball than football (meaning you can rely more on your athletic ability for football).

None of the best athletes play basketball. Except nate robinson I guess?

Nutrition & Supplementation / Re: Any Help Would Be Great
« on: September 13, 2011, 12:11:16 pm »
High protein foods:

- Chicken
- Beef
- Lamb
- Eggs
- Yoghurt (especially greek yoghurt)
- Cottage Cheese
- Milk (8g per cup! Down 2 cups really quick and that's a whole extra 16g protein in your meal...)
- Nuts (cashews, pistachios, almonds, etc)

Make great use of the milk and yoghurt. It's light on you and easy to consume.

Imagine eating a 3 egg omlette, with each egg containing 6g of protein (although some contain 7g).

3 eggs = 18g protein.
3 eggs + 2cups milk = 34g protein

And btw, by cup, don't forget I mean the unit of measurement. Not an actual, physical cup. This is important because a physical cup usually contains more than a cup! Means it's easier to get in those two cups of milk in your.... cup.

Wait, so you've been squatting for 14 days in a row?

Niceeeeeee.

Can't wait to see the jump tests after you take a day or two off. It'll be sick.

I hope your high on caffeine when you test out your SVJ. ALSO, do some heavy hip flexor stretching before the jumps to get you that extra inch!

Injury, Prehab, & Rehab talk for the brittlebros / Very bad shoulder pain.
« on: September 10, 2011, 11:08:41 pm »
My friend injured his shoulder benching. He said he was benching powerlifting style (slight back arch, elbows slightly tucked).

He got up to a 5RM, and on the last rep, his right arm was higher than his right (thus the bar wasn't level) and he felt some pain in his right shoulder. He didn't want to fail the lift since he didn't have a spotter, so he muscled up the rep and then he heard a loud crack and he had plenty of pain.

Currently, he experiences NO pain in these movements/poses:
- "Jesus pose"
- The Y pose from the YMCA
- Any movement where the hand is still below shoulder level causes no pain.

He experiences the MOST pain in these movements/poses:
- "Hitler pose" and higher

Sorry for the unorthodox pose explanations there, no offense intended, but that was the easiest way I could explain it.

Anyone know what may have happened and how to treat the shoulder?
From what I know, he has zero postural problems and is VERY flexible and mobile.

Some people might like to see them so here we go. I went to electric zoo festival in NYC... mindblowing. So memorable.

I hate that cheesy house music (afrojack, avicii, swedish house mafia) but I LOVE trance (ferry corsten, above & beyond, ATB).

Edit: Not sure why these aren't coming out widescreen even though their HD vids.

Don't you think 2 days rest would be better? That's a crapload of accumulated fatigue. Also, take some stimulants before testing squat/svj like caffiene and GET IT ON VIDEO!!!

^ I don't know much about sprinting, but the only thing I can think of is a change in mechanics leading to a less efficient (aka slower) way to sprint.

I'll creep back into the dark now and learn from afar...
