Over the past few weeks, I've made it my daily goal to consume 8 whole eggs and 3oz of dark chocolate. I hit that goal about 5 days a week. I've had my suspicions about the ultra fast digesting whey proteins in the past (they're absorbed too fast; the body doesn't know what to do so it converts the proteins to sugar. Proteins don't do much good serving as sugar), and am forgoing having them now. I'm content with the slower digesting wheys and am even mixing them with even slower digesting casein containing cottage cheese post workout and...better sit down...even mixing in some fat. My post workout meal is more reminiscent of mother's milk (the stuff we were meant to grow on). Over the course of these past four weeks, I've been eating lower carbs in an effort to lose fat; muscle gain wasn't my current concern. I've added in the extra eggs, extra dark chocolate, and the change to the post workout meal (which is sometimes a breakfast, lunch, or pre workout meal, too). I've eaten less than maintenance, and gained muscle - while losing fat. I've never been more vascular.
Dumbell BSS FTW!
Man I loved those...These videos remind me of the old good times...you know, when I actually had two knees LOL!
I commented about how "close" your stance looked to me the first time I saw you doing barbell bss, but if you're more comfortable that way I guess it's fine
word.
I'm also trying to work up to being able to do the natural glute ham raise after seeing the video you posted on the motivational thread,
how much progress have you made?you managed to do it yet adarq?
You might be coming from another plant. Admit it, that's a strong possibility.
but now im like ??Quotetrue, i hate SVJ, just feels so akward. But ya man go get that 140. Do you have anytime time frame goal as to when you want to be down to that weight?
not sure, even with an insane running jump, my SVJ is still going to be WAAAAAAY lower.. picture stefan holm's SLRVJ vs his SVJ, really huge difference.. my SVJ would definitely be better than his 24, shit it already is lmao, but i don't see it improving to 35+" simply by getting those stats we mentioned.. i'd have to practice SVJ's a ton, which I hate... though, once i get to that level, i might suck it up and do that just so I can try to "master SVJ".
peace man!
I was watching you 11" jump video and I saw that when you jumped you did a butt kick then forced your legs back down. I watched a football player on YouTube jump to grab money of the ceiling a he did it twice in the air does that get you even more air. I tried practicing that. It doesn't come natural to me, but it looks like it helps a lot.

Cool observation...imma keep that in mind next time I jump off 2 legs.
Yeah that's a good point. If I bend forward while doing the BSSs I load the quad anyway, so...
By the way - does anybody have any comments on my 1-2 jump squats in terms of loading/rebound speed etc?
By the guy holding the raw DL WR.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DchUE6Wy67s
ok so here's my first blog entry:
i've been doing the stretches for 3 days now.
my flexibilty really went up but my muscles are kind of sore (i think thats also because i hit the weights damn hard on tuesday). i feel kinda loose and agile when i walk around.
but when i step on the court.. i feel like im less explosive than before. im slower in defense, my first step is slower and what bothers me most is: my VJ has decreased!!!!!!!
i dont exactly know why that is so, but i think it's because my body is not used to having loose muscles yet. so it doesnt know what to do with them and how to effectively do athletic movements with them.
but i'm not even thinking about aborting the programm now. ill keep doing it and see how it changes my VJ over time. because i cant really see any reason why being flexible should make you run slower or jump less high. because all of the top 100m sprinters, long jumpers, triple jumpers etc. are flexible as shit!!! and it doesnt look like it makes them less explosive lol.
peace
If you do happen to lose some vert because of the daily flexibility/mobility work in those 2 weeks, you need to understand that whatever vert you "lose" you will easily gain back by ceasing to perform that mobility 'program'. lmao i have zero hamstrings and all quads/glutes and its due to squatting and not deadlifting, and my svj and rvj (both 1 foot and 2 feet) have massively improved since I dropped deadlifting.
x2, i don't even think i have hamstrings..
quadnation4lyfe.
does this mean that I am wasting my time doing deadlifts and romanian deadlifts to try and increase my vertical jump?
Damn man i wonder why you cant get any sleep, seeing how you only got 3 hours of sleep youd imagine youd be knocked out once your head hits the pillows.
Any weird changes in diet?
Nice squats though, i like the idea of pin squats, im deffinetly going to give them a try when i start training again after AAU.
If you got down to 140 with a 405 half squat you would be flying like crazy man, head at rim no doubt,
probably a 2 hand grab off a standing jump if you were that light and had that kind of power i imagine. go get it man!
Fuck, sorry to hear about your grandpa. That has to be so hard, I mean seeing him like that again and again... I just won't comment anymore on that subject unless I want to post in the emo thread.
