also canelo said he injured his right hand in the second round i think so he had to use the left hand and would use his right hand sparingly as you can see from the highlights.

ye, he is now thinking of moving to the 160lb division and oscar says he will fight in september 2007. it is annoying and oscar loves canelo alot like he sees himself in canelo and wants to get him up to another level and him trying to protect canelo makes it frustrating.

That's why max's questions post fight interview was on spot.

This is the only good highlight I could find. sorry
but you can see canelo's combos but this video is biased towards canelo, but main thing to see is the knockout.

So I was on a new routine, which I adopted the 3 point stance. It was first time I tried to ensure I did it accurately but not sure if this is how it should be done.

The way I did it was, The way I did the 3 point stance was stand near the line, move about 5 inch away from line, place the knee of the back leg in line with my front foot, rockback onto my back feet to ensure the back feet wont slip placed firmly on the ground, then I would lift my hips, ensure proper leg angle front about 90 and back around 100. Lift my left hand to my waist and then explode out.

I did the same warm up as the one during the test day. Put vest on did warm up and then took it off for the runs.

Warm up
   same
   box jumps w/ 5kg dumbells
sprint arm swings /w 5kg dumbells
   gradual 30m sprints to 50%

Workout
   30m sprints at 3 point stance x 3
      1. 4.66
      2. 4.56
      3. 4.52

   60m sprints w/ 3 point stance x 1
      1. 8.43

Cool down
same no stretches required just down hill walk

Comment
First time attempting on doing an ME 30m sprints using a 3 point stance. I didn't expect the time to this bad I think it was because of my right hand is on the floor I have to explode out and then as soon as my hands are off the ground I reposition my finger on the stop watch and press start and then stop at the end. So I decided to switch to left hand, which is my weak (im right handed) so there was the awkwardness in pressing the start and stop of the stopwatch and problably pressed it at the wrong time either to early start or late stop towards the end. So maybe I should run without stopwatch until after.

Boxing / canelo vs smith
« on: September 18, 2016, 08:41:56 pm »
one sentence to sum up the fight is, wtf is canelo made up of, he is allowing smith to hit him and he doesn't move a little especially the head shots againsts the ropes.

It was a mismatch from the beginning, until canelo started to i don't know let him hit him or just rest alot and therefore be exposed to getting hit, but liam smith is very slow as I have seen alot of boxers, they are planning and getting close before they execute, same with smith he was planning and doing nothing and coming close to an extent their gloves touched while in defence and he is still thinking and then executes he is lucky canelo is not attacking while he is thinking. It was a bad match.

I never oscar de la hoya well and canelo was my favourite fighter until he started avoiding ggg even after bragging about his mexican heritages.

but dela hoya is a sneaky evil person, before a fight he talks up about the opponent, how he is strong, undefeated; same with amir khan, his fast, but then after the fight he is like 'canelo thrashed those people like easy work, he made pros look like nothing lol, he brings them up so as to exaggerate canelo's toughness in the ring when in reality he has been giving canelo, blown up welterweights and weak fighters to beat just for his reputation.

I like max kellerman's interview after the fight, lol savage attacking the promoter as it is. but the canelo fans, something wrong with them, max said about ducking ggg and canelo responded ironically 'i fear no one' and the whole crowd goes wild, seriously lmao.

but I enjoyed canelo's skills, snap in punches and combo, upper cut and compared to liam's punches which lacked snap, comfortable, his punches were a lot of effort, some of his punches looked real weak.

but in terms of the fight, the only exciting part was canelo fighting and going reall aggresive especially that body punch which knocked him, ouch looked painful.

thanks for the advice guys. I will look into getting a good pair of sprinting shoes, they don't sell the saucony shay shoes in the UK, so maybe something similar.

thanks adarq  :highfive:.

These are the shoes I wear for running. They are very light and the materials are very thin. They are asics gel mens running shoes. I don't know the exact brand.

These are the closest ones I could find that almost same as the ones I ran in and still run in.

those shoes look nice.

I rather wear something that covers my leg lol, don't like to show my knees out. I was looking at running trousers and they look like the baggy trousers I wore lol or the tights.

ye, I would prefer if you would remove that image  :ninja: but thanks for the comment it was all thanks to yours and toddays help and the others members on this site.  :highfive:

EDIT: maybe those extra insta gains I can save for the competition

damn your shoes are 12 oz!!!!!

4-5 oz vs 12 oz is such a major difference.. all of that extra padding + extra heel support in that asic shoe is just not needed when you sprint.

pc!

lol I didn't think you could get shoes lighter than that lol. Those were my luxury shoes haha I couldn't afford anything more than this.

it's possible that you might be usain bolt if you got some ~4-5 oz flats..  :ninja:

I hope so.  :ibrunning:

Thanks for the comment and for your help and advice.  :highfive:

I will now look into 3 point stance.

I usually run in the clothes wear at home, I don't like to run in those tights lol I don't like the way they look. Maybe something a little bit less baggy, but not those sprint tights hah.

Thanks

Today was a heatwave, its good I didn't have to workout today.

It was 32 degrees celsius at 54% humidity. There was a health warning that people should have water bottles with them.

Date: 12/09/2016
Soreness: legs
Weight: 71.4kg

Workout
I did the same as the test day, but I got carried away with the box jumps that I made it high and heavy that I left less energy for the sprints, but also today's performance was disappointing. I told my coach and he said it was because I didnt fully recover from the test day.

So he has recommended I do the following workout.

Every other day just go to the track without
the vest or any sorta weighted work and do a regular good warmup then
run about 5 x 30 meter sprints at no more than 70% speed.  Then 2 days
after that do the vest workout we talked about.  So the schedule will
look like this:

day 1: vest workout
day 3: easy workout
day 5: vest workout
day 7: easy workout
day 9: vest workout
day 11: easy workout
day 13: vest workout

Will see how it goes.

Do you still have the pains in your hips when you try squatting or extending your hips. I followed your advice and keeping it light on the hips and it is working well and hips feel good, but don't want to squats yet, as I know the hip pains will shout, as I can still feel the hip just waiting there to spring up on me if I try squatting or stretching my quads.

Another thing my coach recommended, which can be helpful for you, if you still have pains or are still rehabbing it is standing with your back against the wall, and lift your knee to your chest as high as you can and let go and try hold it there using your hip strength, do it for each leg for 2 sets, it is actually helpful and my hips feeling a lot better too.

Boxing / Re: 2016: GGG vs Brook
« on: September 11, 2016, 07:56:09 pm »
haha lol at way it was stopped by I will get to that later.

I was looking forward to the fight, brook gaining weight, trying to dominate ggg try to intimidate, which I highly doubt. In the fight, ggg was just using brook as a practice boxing dummy, he didn't give brook space to breath and the early punch to the eye. Brook said he was losing sight in that eye, even though the outwards appearance, would show otherwise, but that punch must have affected his sight internally. Then in the next round I think ggg lost gas from round 1 and brook started making a comeback, some parts where ggg's hands were down letting brook hit with clean shots and some that hit him, ggg says he didn't feel anything but that is debatable according to his reactions to those punches. Then later on ggg was just breaking him down but just was getting him alot too and was not very crisp, or accurate/over powering like his normal self but still he was able to batter him alot until the last round when the fight was stopped, ggg did some serious damage to him, like proper 'street fight' like he hated him that he wanted to put a beating on him when brook was against the ropes, then the last part where he was basically landing punches and this causes the corner to throw in the towel, which was premature. Lol at the corner man waving the white towel to get ref's attention, doesn't he know you are supposed to throw the towel in not try and wave it at the referee who is busy looking at the fight. But brook was still holding his self, he only got hit with a few shots and didnt get chance to try show he can defend himself, stoppage was too early. I think brook might been able to throw some hooks and uppercuts to get out of that situation and may have gone a bit longer but not the entire 12 rounds. I am impressed that brook was able to fight on even with limiting sight in his right eye, just like the algieri vs provodinkov fight, that was awesome, huge eye bulge and algieri boxed cleverly to victory.

I didn't watch the chocolatito fight, but don't think it will be a difficult fight for chocolatito gonazalez.

but the brook match was really good until the premature stoppage from waving the towel to throwing it in lol.

Edit: it has been confirmed that brook suffered a broken eye socket and will be going into surgery

It seems marquez maybe softening his stance against fighting manny pacquioa for the fifth time.

There are rumours that maybe he will be willing to fight pacquiao again for $30 million, which is a lot, but will it be a good fight, I don't really know as marquez is 40 i think and pacquiao will accept it to get revenge but will it be a good fight for the fans.  ::)

5th fight wtf!!!

crazy.

GGG / Brook this weekend right?

 :highfive:

yep, ggg vs brook, brook has adopted the strategy of coming in heavier then triple g, and brook is a solid puncher but GGG is on another level.
GGG by knockout, I hope  :P taking nothing away from brooks, this for some reason is more reasonable then canelo vs khan.

lol, here are the sprint vids.

My coach timed me and got the following times for me:

30m
   1. 4.09
   2. 4.11 (I had 3 min rest only before this run to record on different recorder)

60m
    1.  7.85 (Coach didn't manage to get a time, so I timed it myself from the video)

I'm happy, that I got these times from a accurate test.

30m First Test
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKRdyBM62gY" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKRdyBM62gY</a>

30m Second Test
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zlplv6ZqMEE" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zlplv6ZqMEE</a>

60m First and Only Test
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yshoykve264" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yshoykve264</a>

I didn't analyse my form yet, so don't know what to expect regarding it, hopefully its ok and especially the leverage of my arm travelling back, I hope it is going back far enough.

My coach has recommended I do on every third day do the same warm up with vest on and then do timed sprints after without it on, hand timed, as I can't get it recorded every time. I will do this for the next 2 weeks and see if I see improvement in my time.
