my best broad jump (well only time i done it was last year) was 2.85 metres  ~112", I want to start recording it again and hit 3m......................THAT VID ANDREW POSTED UP WAS CRAZY!

nice 112" aint bad, get that 120+.

ya i love that vid :P

The broad jump seems to use a fair amount more glute (hip extension) and less quad (knee extension)

yup, as you go from vertical to horizontal, contribution of hamstrings/glutes increases, quad contribution decreases.

so if you have a big vert and not a big broad jump then you know your quads are the strong suit..am i right?

so Adarqui that means you might be have strong quads and not as strong glutes

It could also be that one whose vertical is better than their broad jump has merely practice the vertical jump more. Broad jumps require a lot of technique.

His back is quite impressive for someone so skinny. I would certainly prefer to be built like that guy than myself, currently.

Yay for my long heel and short toes!

If you go frame by frame and stop right where his front knee crosses the line, the iphone does say 4.29. I am not sure if that means anything in terms of accuracy though.

Beastly.

Well, Marian Woronin ran 9.992, but that was rounded up to 10.0.

A half-white half-aborigine guy ran 9.93. I do not know if that counts though.

You need something so you make sure you go all the way down in that scenario though  :-\.

Swinging blade that gets gradually lower once you start descending and raises once you hit the bottom?

or just a spotter with a desert eagle.. :D

IT'S ALL YOU BRO

Fail , its way too hot , it was 9pm and still temperature was 31'C / ~88'F
Couldn't keep up with 70+% pace , last 3 sprints of each set was ~50%
Lost ~2,5lbs of sweat in 30 mins!

god, i love those heat conditions.. :D

Not me , i much prefer cold. Im the guy that stands with AC at full power and still sweating when everyone else is like "close the damn thing , its too cold!"
Well , for athletic stuff i like some temperature , but that thing is too much , especially with some increased humidity.
Perfect conditions for me are ~25'C / ~77'F

The mid 70s are delicious.

The core also has to work really hard to keep stable during high impact activies like sprinting and bounding.

Might also be a problem with glute function.

Yeah sorry to distract. Didn't mean to imply that you were being an asshole, at least not more so than I generally am about words with friends/coworkers.  :D Almost got into a fight with my boss a little while ago about a sentence she'd written. Note to everyone: Do not criticize your boss's grammar, especially when your boss was an English teacher before switching professions. I was right, though, haha.

Anyway, hijack over. Sorry about that.

Oh no, I didn't mean to imply that you were calling me an asshole at all!

My own post in another thread prompted me to change my text.

Words are awesome.

Funny, that's the role I usually fulfill in life.

What about the new, revised text under name?  ;D

In my humble opinion , self-sarcasm is a huge evidence of humor which is a huge evidence of intelligence.

Edit : don't be mistaken people , somehow all this is absolutely relevant with Jonathan Edwards :D :D :D

I cannot tell if that is sarcasm.

Just to make this relevant, here's a thread about Jonny E's weight training on Charlie Francis.

BTW is biostest surge or whateva just a pre-workout pump/ingnitior???

"Surge" is a post workout product, "Surge Workout Fuel" is a pre workout energy and endurance product.

I recommend you read product descriptions in future.
