Post finished. I don't understand how I went from 405x4 to 335 in about a month.

Here's some squat history:.

Basic set up:
Heavy day - 1x4, 2x7
Light day - 1x2
Heavy day - 1x4, 2x7

Eventually i switched from mon-wed-fri to mon-wed-sat because it fit my schedule better.
By the end I deloaded. Notice I started from 335x4 to 405x4 in just 7 weeks or so. A lof of my log data deleted so not everything is 100% accurate until the 4th week. But I DO recall gaining 10lbs a week on my 4RM.

Mon - 335 x 4 | 295 x 7 | 295 x 7
Wed - 340 x 2
Fri - 345 x 4 | 300 x 7 | 300 x 7

Mon - 350 x 4 | 305 x 7 | 305 x 7
Wed - 355 x 2
Sat - 360 x 4 |310 x 7 | 310 x 7

Mon - 355 x 4 | 315 x 7 | 315 x 7
Wed - 360 x 2
Fri - 360 x 4 | 320 x 7 | 320 x 7

Mon - 365 x 2
Wed - 365 x 4 | 325 x 7 | 325 x 7
Sat  - 370 x 4

Mon - 375 x 4 | 330 x 7 | 330 x 7
Wed - 375 x 2
Sat - 380 x 4 | 335 x 7 | 335 x 5

Mon - 385 x 2
Wed - 385 x 4 | 335 x 7 | 335 x 7
Sat - 390 x 4 | 340 x 7 | 340 x 5

Mon - 395 x 4  | 340 x 7 | 340 x 7
Wed - 395 x 1
Sat - 400 x 4 | 345 x 7 | 345 x 7

Mon - 405 x 1
Wed - 405 x 4 | 355 x 3
Fri - 365 x 1

Mon - 405 x 4 notice i did this TWICE, it was a consistent 4RM
Wed - 365 x 1
Fri - 405 x 1 (de-loading)

Tue - 405 x 1 (de-loading) but 405x1 felt VERY difficult
Fri - 405 x 1 (end of de-load)

Tue - 405 x 1 VERY difficult, thought I would go for 405x3 but couldn't
Sat - 355 x 5 | 355 x 5 | 355 x 5 extremely difficult

Tue - 345 x 5 | 345 x 5 | 345 x 3 Couldn't even do 3 sets of this
Sat - 345 x 5 | 345 x 5 | 345 x 5 Barely went up

Thu - 335 x 5 | 335 x 5 | 335 x 5 Continued decline in weight, this was near failure

HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?!

What could be the cause for my plummeting squat gain?
FWIW, I was the same weight of the 405x4 thru 355x5. THEN I started to cut weight (lost 3 pounds so far, that's it).

1. Athlete A will burn more than Athlete B because he's adding exercise into the equation. Also, because athlete B will lose muscle, he will no longer burn 3000 calories because less muscle = less calories burned. That's why he'd put fat on, because he's now eating over maintenance.

...but that's not the situation we're talking about (they both consume and burn 3000cal a day, period). I already wrote down they they are both on caloric maintenance. You can't change a hypothetical situation and THEN defend yourself against THAT one.  ;)

2. Obviously we are talking about weight.

Not so obvious when the words can NOT be used interchangeably. ALSO not so obvious when you stated:
"If you eat 3000 calories, and your body uses 3000 calories, you won't store any fat because there's no reason to."
But YES, I do know what you meant now.

3. You didn't read Avishek's post. That is the one I was responding to. He said "Just reducing those and eating healthier will automatically get you lean.". That's simply not true.

If you want to help me, give me some tips for Smolov.

Don't fucking do it.

If you eat 3000 calories, and your body uses 3000 calories, you won't store any fat because there's no reason to.

Hmmm....

Athlete A - Eats exactly 3k cals a day. Burns exactly 3k cals a day. Lifts heavy weights 3x a week.

Athlete B - Eats exactly 3k cals a day. Burns exactly 3k cals a day. Stopped lifting.

3 months pass. Athlete B will have stored fat and lost muscle. Athlete A will have remained about the same (or, if he's a noob, stored muscle and burned some fat.

You are wrong here man. The word weight is not interchangable with the word fat.

YES, you are right in saying you will NOT gain weight if your calories in are equal to calories out.

However, you are wrong in saying you will not gain or lose FAT either.

There is a difference between gaining/losing weight and body recomposition

You guys don't understand. That phase of life is over for ADARQ.

Your eyes are too far apart. Nose is definitely crooked. The shape of your face is not aesthetically pleasing at all. You look like a 3/10 with make up in this photo. I don't even want to imagine what you look like without make up. I actually just threw up in my mouth, just thinking about it. Your head is too big (although that may be, because of your giraffe neck posture). As for your hair, lol. Seriously, do something. You look like a horse.
Stare at your face for more than 5 seconds, and you will see how ugly you are. The eyes which are too far apart is what ruins/damages an already ugly face even further. Unfortunately for you, that can't be surgically fixed, lol. Your arms are way too long. lol at how they hang by your sides. Kind of reminds me of lurch. As for your tits, we all know there is extra padding there. Don't even let me start on your pale complexion. It only works if you look hot. Unfortunately, you do not look hot. Its hard to sum up a creature like you in one word. 'UGLY' would be unfair, since it doesn't reflect how repulsive you look. GROTESQUE is stretching it. But somewhere in between, is where you would be, on the scale of an average man.
I'm sorry if my words seem a little harsh. Just so you know, I sugar coated this post as much as possible.
Have a nice day.

u aware?

fuck yeah

weighed 204lbs at time of squat (in socks, boxers, shorts, tank top).
Even though I squatted in shoes I took them off when I weighed myself lol, wouldn't make sense to count them.

usually weigh 208lbs (shoes, socks, boxers, sweatpants, tank top).
In this case it makes sense to count my shoes because I jump with shoes and it would have a negative effect.

The shoes and sweatpants add a lot of weight I guess.

I'm at about a 2.18x bw squat now if I'm at 445lb 1RM and 204lb bw. I want to get to 2.25x bw (in clothing) and that should get me to a 40" running vertical FOR SURE with practice.

When I was at 2.06x bw squat, I jumped my highest at ~38". I was 175lbs and maxed out 360-365

Sounds good stevenmiller

Mon - 3x5 @ 385
Wed - 1x5 @ 315
Fri - 1x5 @ 405

I'll try something like that and try going up every week. The thing is, I don't know when I'm going to have time/energy for jump training. Now I kinda wish I didn't dirty buik and just took it slow but dammit I made great strength progress.

Guess after I lose the weight, I'll work on jump technique while maintaining weight and strength.

Currently at 405x4. I think I'm about to deload and then go for 405x5 just to get the "unofficial" milestone and put it on youtube. It should also get me at an estimated 455lb 1RM.

Within the next 6 weeks or so, I want to lose around 10lbs of bodyweight, maybe 15lbs. I'm creatine loaded so I know I can lose a lot of water weight so 15lbs won't be much of a stretch.

Anyone know of a good routine to maintain squat 1RM? I'm thinking something like this:

Max: 455lbs

Mon - Work up to 405x2
Wed - Work up to 385x1, drop to 335x8
Fri - Work up to 405x3

1645
395x4 today at 207lbs bodyweight (at time of squat with clothing on)

Est max is 440lbs. Highest it's ever been.
2.125x bw squat! Highest my ratio's ever been as well.

Can't wait for 2.255 sometime before the summer.

Actually... would be cool to rep twice my bodyweight for 4 reps. I think that'll be my next mini-goal. Should take me no longer than 8 more weeks but there's no telling how badly I may stall in the future.

And it was a hook grip you retards, a favorite of steroid users because their grip/forearm strength doesn't increase as rapidly as their lats/traps/legs. The more you know

You grip better with a mixed grip.

Are you doing any dynamic work to keep your bar speed that high? Or is that just how you always do your reps?

Nope, no dynamic stuff. Unless you mean dynamic stretching beforehand, yes. But the only thing I do is my warm-up which may explain it:

135 x 5 (controlled)
185 x 5 (controlled)
225 x 3 (explosive)
275 x 1 (explosive)
315 x 1 (explosive)
345 x 1 (explosive)

Now of course, after the 275x1 the weight is too heavy for me to be really explosive, but all that matters is that I actually push 100% with all of my strength. I do this for my work sets as well.

Also, read this thread on pushing with 100% effort and being "explosive" even with heavy weights http://www.adarq.org/forum/lancests-performance-blog/articles-and-write-ups/
