Nutrition & Supplementation / Re: Timing of Caffeine
« on: May 23, 2011, 01:27:04 pm »
ive been taking 4 tspn of instant coffee with my morning protein drink lately, definitely improves my focus/"twitchyness".. i hadn't been doing caffeine for like 1 month or so, and when i got back on, first time back on it hit me hard, felt real shitty.. but second session i was back to handling it well.

definitely aids in my focus throughout a session, i do get more tired following a session though when im on caffeine than when i'm not on.

Program Review / Re: frank yang "40 inch vertical program"
« on: May 23, 2011, 01:22:29 pm »
it all depends on how you are built for the most part.. some people naturally excel at rep work, like myself, so it's very easy to hit true 8-10RM's without any acclimation phase.. other people will struggle. Also, my 10RM will always overestimate my 1RM because of how good I am naturally at rep work... it's not good to use 10RM anyway to predict 1RM so i guess that point is moot anyway.. but the same applies to 5RM so I guess it isn't moot heh.. my 5RM will always overestimate my 1RM based on how I am built naturally. I recover better between reps than someone who is pure power for example, I can hit multiple grinder's in a set whereas someone who is really powerful struggles to even finish one grinder.

dno just my 2cents.

Yeah, that's really cool, you're basically part of history forever (and I'm not sarcastic saying this).

I'm a bit curious though: Is this a book Verkho had finished prior to his passing, or is this some Tupac type deal where other people (his daughter?) are finishing it up for him?

i think it's the one he was working on when he passed away, and his daughter/some other people, possibly james smith, helped to finish it.. he already wrote this manual way back, but this is the revised/new edition.

Cool news, in which context are you mentioned and what is the book about?

thanks man.. in the context lance linked, that iso extension stim exercise based on his stim method/stim variants... not sure yet of course, will have to read it, probably only a small thing on it, though maybe he really expanded on it, would be awesome if that was the case.. he seemed very receptive of it back when i notified him of the idea/exercise/results on his forum.

The clip is locked due to music copyright here... and I don't remember that site through which you could view blocked videos.

blah! I checked it and it seems it is actually blocked everywhere with the exception of Italy and U.S.A. LOL!
I don't know the site you're talking about man:(

@ Drew:good stills no matter how the knee is doing man!

thanks mang, knee is doing better today but still bugging, but thats a good sign.. elbow is jacked up from slamming the ball real hard into rim and getting jammed hah.. hate when that happens.

that's why i don't use popular music anymore, copyright stuff sucks.. plus you can get violations and account terminated etc.

I got an email today "apologizing" for my name being misspelled in the book (SSTM, Special Strength Training Manual for Coaches), Darque instead of Darqui. Needless to say, i'm extremely honored to be somewhere in that book, pretty awesome. I shot back a big email detailing how much Verkhoshansky has meant to my training, and how i'm planning on giving him much gratitude once I reach my goal of 47" RVJ, just wish I would have been able to actually share it with him. R.I.P

anyway they are sending me a copy :D
