i had this idea tonight.. google for parks inside this real rich area, like 20 minutes from me.. found 2 parks, one claims 5 basketball courts, looks like glass backboard/breakaway rim, other one seems similar...........  :wowthatwasnutswtf:

im trying to find more courts with breakaway rims, koz im tired of stiff rims wrecking my hands.. plus breakaway is much more fun.. i think i just found some really nice courts.. we'll see soon (tomorrow probably)..

Nicely done Adarq.

thanks man

Have you noticed that you twist a lot on some of your jumps? Do you think that's because of the rounded approach?

ya i have lots of rotation.. the rounded approach definitely exacerbates it, but even on other approaches, i always rotate into my plant.. should make spinning/360's/180's easier.

peace man

You and the smallest black guy have some very thin shins.

that smallest black guy has REALLY skinny ankles.. ya im skinny, but my ankles are thick. his ankles look really thin.

on a good note, went to 9'11 rim today.. killed it submax SLRVJ, did one max jump at the end got up real nasty threw itdown hard.. gotta progress slow into slrvj, knee/back/hip was bugging a bit today on my slrvj leg.

Yes but that LeBron thing was filmed from the floor (cameraman lying on the floor) while this was filmed from a trepied (from what I can tell) put on a chair or something. Roughly the same angle though.

I remember when I filmed Nightfly from ground level vs. from rim level. Incredible difference, it looked like a 8-10 inch difference or so. From the floor he looked heat at/over rim and from rim level he was ~6 inches under the rim.

well there's enough angles of werm/lebron to know they get head at rim level though..

ya during warmups my cam was on ~5' tripod, during contest it was like 4'... brought it down so it wouldnt block anyone's view.

I think Werm looked head over rim at a few dunks. Angle, but still...

well he jumps far out so there's always going to be cam angle with him, that said, he's EASY head on rim.. him and myree are legit head on rim on 10' hoops.

what were the scores..out of 16 people, what was your place?

rollaway rims always seem to be higher, I have on that rolls away and I measured it to be higher

dno like 5th lmao.. i missed final four just because i didn't land my round 2B dunk.. i would have been in final 4 if i would have landed one, i got all 8's on round 2A, which was a high score for that people who arent werm/airdogg etc.

And you are the same person that claims that the lebron jump is barely head at rim?

 :P

lebron is EZ head on rim also :F

ya id definitely be down for that.. i mean i could edit it.. id just need links to everyone's footage, on youtube or on sendspace.com etc.. then we'd be good, and we'd need to make a deadline.. perhaps september first? kind of like, an end of summer 'adarq.org training mix' from all of our members who have videos?

sounds good i mean people go hard in the summer..

what u think?

here's my footage since it was requested :f

hoop def seemed a little higher than 10'... i didnt mention it to start koz it's whatever, even if it was 10'2 which it pretty much seemed like it was, i should have still dunked harder on it.. i can dunk harder on 10'2 than what i did in that vid.. regardless of whether it was 10 or 10'2, didnt jump like i should have.. im comparing it to 'how i feel' when i get under a measured 10' rim, def seemed higher.. i didnt complain about it, but it def entered my head.. other people were complaining about it.. lol

ok so... i threw down some very nice dunks today off SLRVJ........ it seems i can dunk harder/better with LESS vert than my double leg, because of how much distance i get on my SLRVJ jumps.. also, my form looks pretty damn good in the plant of my good SLRVJ jumps, man shit is about to get interesting..

these pics dont do the dunks justice, i really threw these dunks down SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hard.. video probably tomorrow.. pretty amp'd about how good my single leg is..

funny thing though, i did 100 layups (50 left, 50 right) with long sleeve shirt on before these jumps... so i felt fatigued as hell, but then some kids showed up to talk to me about my dunks, and i started flying.. snapped out of the fatigue really well.

About the mask: if you didn't tell me, I wouldn't even notice it. Extremely well done, 'Drew.

hah ya.. it came out good, did it in like <5min, glad it looks ok.. was bugging me that the guy was blocking the full final 8, wanted to see the height comparison.

pc man

NICE!!! I only first read about you doing that contest now. Grats on that man.

thanks man!

Jello legs is normal. Id be surprised if you didnt have them.

ya unfortunately it happens to me at times.. it seems to happen though when im doing something "new".. first time sparring, first high school bball games, first time dunking where i grew up, etc.. always happens the first time then goes away.

pc!

Sick man! That pic of you standing next to those other dunkers made my day.

hah nice! thanks man

Getting jelly legs is so common during the first few events you enter in a relatively new environment  - I remember when I was running state meets for the first time the adrenalin just got to me and I ran like crap compared to what I usually ran.

ya.. that "first time" effect really sucks.. it's even worse with running, because it's not just one powerful effort.. if you tighten up/HR goes too high, while running, man you are toast.. can turn a 17min 5k into a 22min .. heh

Quote
Considering this was your first contest and it was the freaking Sprite Slam dunk showdown I'm surprised your legs didn't drop out altogether! Nice work.

hah ya.. thanks alot man.. the sprite i drakn during the contest helped.. my protein/gatorade shakes i brought helped too.. i drank 4 sprites during the contest.. 1 before i landed that two hander, then 3 more while i was sitting there just watching (not having made final 4 etc).. body was so toast.

pc man

I wonder how the T-Nation guys like it now :D

Anorexic dunker in the Sprite dunk contest!

going to be super anorexic next contest, guaranteed.. gonna be floating :F
