I played pick-up last Sunday but haven't been to the gym or done any other conditioning stuff this week. It was unintentional, but I'll just treat the last 4 days as a deload. I would've trained tonight except I've got my grandmothers birthday and we're going out with the family to an all you can eat restaurant so I know I'll feel sick if I try and exercise after eating.

I got a call from the police today and they said the man is now in a stable condition and expected to make a full recovery. He doesn't want to press charges or pursue any legal action so it's the end of the matter. I'm going to use this as a lesson to remain calm in the future because life is precious and I've worked to hard in my life just to throw it all away with some poor choices.

a little late to this.. damn man that is nuts. happy he's ok and you're not getting in any legal trouble (presumably). sounds like it could have been way worse for you. I mean he was swinging at you with a wrench, wtf.. I picture a big wrench that could do some serious damage. Good thing you know how to defend yourself.

me personally, i'm avoiding any conflict.. if some road rager is freaking out, I def wouldn't want to confront him. Lots of people die like that here. I'd rather avoid/run and only fight as the very last option.

also, good stuff with the conditioning runs/sprints!

peace man

Yeah it was pretty hectic, but nothing like being shot at :P

My plan is to keep up with the conditioning. I've also started playing pick up basketball once a week with some of my mates down at the city courts so that's good exercise as well- just hate the blisters I seem to re-tear each week.

I didn't realise this until today but I actually got a PR last friday - BS 2x132.5kg which was nothing special cause i'd been using this weight for a while and usually doing more than one double at a time... but this was done at a bodyweight of 77.9kg....... which makes a ratio of 1.7! The first time i've ever got out of the 1.60s! And this is raw, no belt, so that's also special. I'm on the right track.. just have to keep chasing that ever elusive 2.0.

Niice ;D

Mate glad this one worked out. Can imagine it would have been a pretty full on week for you.

Great lesson to take out of it.

Yeah I felt terrible. I'm relieved it's over and he's okay.

Gym-
I didn't go to the gym this weekend, but I'm going to make up for it during the week.

I played pick-up ball tonight for 3 hours. My feet are sore again, but it was a really good session. Had a couple of ABA players (semi pro Australian league) down at the courts so it was a challenge guarding them and all their cuts.

You never know how someone's day has been...I just got in a road rage where obviously I lost my temper after a 6'2+ foot truck driver jumped out the truck with a wrench and confronted me. I jumped out to confront him and he started swinging.  Well I'm no saint so I punched him in the jaw and he went to sleep. I tried to revive him and I couldn't so I called an ambulance and when they came on the scene they said he had no oxygen going to the brain and he wasn't breathing. They had to make an incision in his throat with some tube to make him breath and gave him an adrenaline shot. I followed them to he hospital where police were waiting on the scene.

Thankfully there were witnesses who came to the hospital to make a statement that I reacted in self defence but at the end of the day I'm more worried about the guy. I wasn't arrested due to me coming to the hospital and the witnesses report just have to wait now to see what happens to the guy...hopefully he wakes up!!!
