Progress Journals & Experimental Routines / Re: Party's Over!

I played pick up last week for a couple of hours but today was the first time I been to the gym in about a week. I've been stressed this week because I have a house under contract, which is subject to finance. I don't have much of a deposit so I was going to use the equity in my current property to fund the purchase. A couple of months ago I had that property valuated by the bank with a desktop valuation and the valuation that just came back from the bank on the same property 2 days ago was $10,000 lower than the one in February, which is bullshit because the suburb has been rising. Anyway I've got until April 29 for the bank to grant unconditional finance as per the contract or I lose out on the house. The whole process sucks because back in February I was actually pre-approved by the same bank for a higher amount, but now I actually have something there are all these doubts. To me it seems like they just want me to have a higher leverage so they can increase their premiums. 50/50 at this stage whether I'm just going to pull out. If the bank doesn't give me better clarification by next week I'm just going to cancel the contract as per the conditions. In hindsight i should've purchased a cheaper house or just kept on saving for another 6-12 months. As long as I don't lose my deposit :-X

Roy Jones Jnr is a warrior.  People remember Roy Jones for being a slick, fast and excellent counter puncher, but forget he had incredible punching power. Becoming a heavyweight champ at 88kg (<200lbs) is testament to that.

I don't like warming up with the bar for squats or deadlifts. It just feels awkward.

I went for a 2 hour bush walk. The walk was around 12km in a national park, which was mostly uphill. My calves were burning when I was walking up steep hills and I worked up a sweat as well. It was much more fun than walking on a treadmill for 2 hours.

Incline DB Bench-
12x10
22x20
24x10
26x10
28x10

Rows-
40x10
60x10
80x10
75x10x3

Chin Ups-
10,9, 5- had no energy left on the last set so it was pretty pathetic.

Congratulations on getting your first dunk :ibjumping:

Gonna be 4 days of getting wasted, which is not much of a change from my usual weekends anyway.

I thought we were past that ;) But enjoy your weekend! I'll probably also end up getting wasted tomorrow  :uhhhfacepalm:

Haha. The difference is now instead of getting wasted every other day I leave drinking to the weekends  ;D

I'm back home now but the wedding was pretty much 3 days of heavy drinking. My friend plays soccer with a bunch of Irishman and I was impressed with the amount of booze they demolished- most of them actually put me to shame but I guess they are Irish after all  :P

Why I could never make it as a rugby player.. The sport seemed to have many attributes like strength, speed, and skill.  But then there is also this intrateam and postgame value that shouldnt be overlooked called "how much alcohol can you perform in one night."   I had some friends who played and there "improvement" in drinking was astonishing... I could never keep up as I have never had high tolerance to any drugs really.

Haha it's definitely part of the rugby culture from amateurs right up to professionals. Even in the World Cup and International level the players all enjoy having a few beers (or 10).

This team were charging right at us and drawing contact most of the time and just calling fouls whenever they missed. One guy was leading with his shoulder the whole time and initiating contact. Being pick up outdoors you can't exactly take a charge so the only option is to give a bit of contact back otherwise you'll fall over. The only way to beat them was literally not to give them the ball and score 5 straight to rotate to the next team. I don't get frustrated over pick up because it's just a game, but these guys were terrible to play with and people who take it more competitive were losing their tempers.

man, where are you located?  sounds like these fools have no class no self respect for basketball sportsmanship.  i used to play pick up games in the ghetto parts of town in sfbay and if you play bullshit bully ball, creating hard contact and try to call foul they'd laugh at your dumbass and if you continue to do it, they'll do the same shit back to you twice as hard.  that's how you shutdown the idiots.  the players that creates contact and calls pussy fouls are absolutely the worse.  they are despicable trash.

ps, how tall are you?

pps, i also find DL easy compare to SQ.  right now 100kg SQ feels hard, and 120kg feels pretty darn easy.

I live in Adelaide (Australia). I haven't seen those guys at the courts since I think they play somewhere else now, which is no loss :P

I'm 5'11 with a 7'10 reach so deadlifts is my best lift, but squatting has always been a weakness for me. Even when I was deadlifting 220kg my best squat was only 137.5kg :(

I'm not training over the Easter break because I've got a wedding interstate. I'm leaving today (Friday) and coming back on Tuesday. Gonna be 4 days of getting wasted, which is not much of a change from my usual weekends anyway.
