Thats interesting what you said that mayweather only fought aged people

mayweather vs de la hoya mayweather was 30 and dela hoya was 34
mayweather vs mosely age of 33 vs 39

that's very true, he is always putting up terms before they can fight.

he says where was pacqiao in 1997-1998-1999... where i was dominating the game' wtf lol

pacqiao was doing a better job and the fact that he has lost a few had made him a better fighter but mayweather has never lost so won't know how to improve.

pacquio's first fight with someone who had 1win 1 loss while mayweathers opponent was 0 win and 0 loss new

Pacquiao vs mayweather would determine who is the best in the world if they were in their prime
but mayweather's aging technique is really making him a boring fighter if he only fights aged people

mayweather is always boring @ 147.. only person he ever really tried to destroy, was gatti.. but gatti is a D level fighter.. mayweather has been waiting for pac to age, so now that fight will probably get made, since pac is immersed in government.

he's so focused on remaining unbeaten that he's shaped the entire last quarter of his career fighting bums or formerly legit fighters who are now bums.. he acts as if he's the only one who is unbeaten, their are a few unbeaten fighters, Timothy Bradley is one for example.. and he's not fighting bums in his last 6 fights..

cherry, holt, peterson, alexander, campbell, witter.. all relevant & young, well except for campbell he's old, but relevant at the time.

Hi Guys

I just wanted to here some thoughts on early morning squat and/or deadlifts. I have read a number of well respected trainers say you shouldn't do these lifts heavy in the morning due to overnight spinal de-compression increasing the risk of injury.

Personally I have happily squated and deadlift heavy in the mornings and have done for years without injury or complaint. Admittedly I do plenty of warm up first - skipping, kb swings, and lots of lighter sets before I get really heavy.

So my question is this - aside from interest blogs and so on has anyone ever heard of any actual studies or research that can verify, or at least help validate that heavy early morning squats and deadlifts are bad? Or is this another internet myth that gets spread around because the same coaches (like me  ;D for example} read the same blogs and sites and end up spreading the same bullshit without fully doing their research.

thoughts and comments?

using my own experience with this, and from people i have trained in the morning, we've never had a problem.. i imagine it could be a problem if you just walked out of bed and went right into the squat rack.. but if you "wakeup" & warmup properly, i don't see how it could be a problem.

Because Mayweather wanted the big money fights. Would he have been as big as he is now if he fought paul williams instead of de la hoya? I doubt it.

Pacquiao fought clottey off a loss, and cotto only because he's top rank.

Mayweather hasn't fought the best, but don't act like Pacquiao has either.

im confused, pbf couldnt fight DLH if he fought paul?

he should have fought both.. and pac was trying to clean up the division, clottey was relevant.. he was coming off a loss to cotto which he was dominating the first half of the fight until he got bodyslammed or whatever happened..

pac was trying to clean out the division, pbf was ducking in the division.. big difference.

there were rumors of pac/berto too, before berto lost to ortiz.. cleaning up the division is much more respectable than sitting in the division and handpicking aging/crappy fighters.. pac will fight anyone, pbf will not.

were any of those pr's? just wondering.. perhaps the 4 double leg bounds?

double leg jump looked fine.. single leg bounds need a little more effort to get that combo of max height + max distance, that's more of a speed bound.

Pacquiao fought De La Hoya, Hatton and Mosley after Mayweather beat them all  ;)

He also ducked Paul Williams but that's more Bob Arum. Pac's next fight will probably be Miguel Cotto again instead of Mayweather or Amir Khan because of politics.

mayweather ducked paul/rito/cotto/clottey when they were relevant..... he's been at 147 far longer than pac.. he also ducked margarito when rito was on his tear.. pac fought cotto/clottey, both of whom are young/game.

mayweather has ducked young top talent since castillo BEAT HIM way back.

i think you neglect reactive work/jump rope.. because of the cardio issue.

I think you're right. And yeah, two hand jumps should be better when doing consecutive VJs to touch the rim. Thanks.

np

got 10 hours sleep today, had less spring than yesterday, but, felt really good.. a few really nice jumps..

^^ he waits for fighters to age.. he waited for mosley, de la hoya, etc to age.. now he's waiting for pacquiao to age, WHICH HE IS DOING..

pac is so immersed in pino government, that he definitely wasn't the same in his last fight.. he'll never be the same now.. he's still a freak, and capable of beating MW, but he was much more capable before he got that job.. and MW knows that..

MW is the best ducker in history of boxing.

bw = 156
soreness = 0
aches/injuries = groin/right knee/left itband, left achilles tender
sleep = 4 hours sleep

diet = coffee, dunks/50 sets of 3-SL-bounds/speed bounds (5 sets each, best of 12 strides left leg full court, 13 strides right leg full court)/SL hop dribbling/ATG-squat-iso-dribbling(3x3min), PB + cake, 5 egg burrito + meatballs/pasta, tons of stretching

some 3-SL-bounds.. these were set 30 lol.. annoyed at how much im being crushed after that first single leg bound off left leg, i just get smashed.. i was handling them better earlier on, but not MUCH better, so thats still indicative of force absorption issues.

a few dunks on four hours sleep.. legs had alot of spring given my fatigue.. eyes closing level of fatigue, sleepy.. happy with these dunks.. confident ill be able to fly without lifting.

Yo Andrew, I went in the park and did a little plyo workout, did some LR jumps with the baby ball (size 1), some jumps with the small ball (size 5) and I'm telling you, these were downright ugly. Whenever I plant I feel this total "overwhelming lazyness" occuring and my jump is bye-bye. Also, when I did consecutive jumps to the rim (standing on spot) I was landing in a totally different place after each jump and basically I was out of reach from the rim altogether after 3 or 4 jumps.

overwhelming lazyness? dno, can't make sense of that... i mean, once i shut down from hitting my max jumps, i get a feeling like that, but im able to jump max before it happens.. so im not sure what would be happening there if it's happening before your max jumps.

ya well consecutive jumps are really hard if you're reaching up to something 'too high'.. if you go submax, you can control..reaching up with two hands also helps to keep you from twisting and rotating away from your target.

Any idea on how to fix this stuff ^^^? On a jump or two I remembred you talking about jumping the best when you tried to jump backwards and it worked, I really jumped well, but then I turned back to my old self with sucking.

jumping 'backwards' always helps me.. i do it every session for months now.. when i cue it as im warming up or before my biggest jumps, it always helps.

Quote
How would you go along correcting all this stuff, all this uncoordinated jumping, and "lazy" jumping (immediately after I forcefully plant is like a "force" magically sucks away all my might, I know it sounds retarded but that's how it feels).

well that just sounds like weakness.. tons of double leg jumping should help, jump rope, reactive work, and heavy lifting..

i think you neglect reactive work/jump rope.. because of the cardio issue.

4 hours sleep last night, really tired, but legs felt so springy, from all of those MR halftucks yesterday... left achilles was a little achy too so i had to hold back.

legs felt so good that i tried a few dunks, landed a few nice ones.
