oh ya ^^ i might go back to my high rep walking lunges occasionally, like 1x/week or so.. have to do them in the day/morning though, not at night.. i should be able to do that now though so.. something ive been considering.

bringing the long distance genetics into play?

nice   ;)

yup :F

time to max em out.

ya pretty much.. well, it's always been something im good at but never cared about.. decided to just start caring about it from now on, see what i can do, push myself to the limit endurance wise. it's going to be fun competing too..

the only other time ive focused on running was when i boxed.. was in insane shape, loved how i felt.. but i didnt focus on running primarily, it was just something i did to improve my fitness for boxing.. so now, im focusing primarily on running, going to see what i can do to get back to that level of fitness then push my limits, should be fun.

pc man

I hear ya, I have almost exactly the same build as you in terms of height and weight. As a kid long distance running was my thing and I wasn't too bad considering I never trained for it. Right now I can't run for shit though haha...just so out of shape overall my lungs wouldn't be able to deliver.
You'll be a long distance BEAST if you keep this up thought. Upping the pace for the last mile is no joke. Do you listen to music when you're running?

i used to listen to music when i run, but now, i stopped.. last 2 weeks i've been running no ipod etc.. just thinking about stuff instead or letting my mind clear.

ya i never trained for it when i was young either, just ran everywhere when i didnt have a bike, and played hours of bball nearly every day.. only time i trained for it properly was when i boxed, but i never did any races.. will be fun to do some races, maybe eventually find some people to run with occasionally, apparently they have alot of that around here.

ya it's funny, your lungs/body would probably adapt pretty quick if you're built for it.. i've been improving faster than i thought i would.

pc man

I haven't read your journal in a while, what's up with all the long runs?

sup flip, check this.. http://www.adarq.org/forum/progress-journals-experimental-routines/adarq's-journal/msg62970/#msg62970

Yo it'll be crazy to see someone who has high amounts of relative strength like you distance running. You defintiely don't have to try as hard per stride as a regular endurance runner as long as you keep up your strength

ya im not lifting though anymore.. dont need to though.. lifting makes me too tight when running too so, cant combine the two.. i mean i could lift real light/high rep and run, but i cant train max and run, they end up conflicting with each other.. ill get way too tight and my "drive to continue running" disappears.. like ill want to quit way too bad, has to do with my body knowing it needs to recover for heavy lifting, i think.

so ya im just running/jump rope/jumps from now on.

Update:

Sent him msg after I saw that he won his age division (55-59) in the broad jump at the World Senior Games (50&over) last week in Utah.  He jumped 8ft 6.75in which was only 1/4in less than the winning jump for the 50-54yo division.  Says he doesn't even do squats due to knee pain (I can relate) but heavy deadlifts (2xbw) and lots of loaded box jumps and broad jumps.  He was pretty proud and honored to have won.

Invited him to join adarq.org in the newly created "old farts" forum w/me and Vag.  ;D

hah sick!

who is that?

he prolly separated it on the way to the hospital..

damn that sucks, i think he separated it on the punch though where it went over dawson's body.. that fall was nothing.. and u can see him grimmissisisnigngn (sp?) on the way down before the fall.

who knows.. but i guess im less annoyed with hopkins now that i know it's legit ;d

Basketball / Re: nba 2011-2012 lockout
« on: October 16, 2011, 02:22:03 am »
i find it odd how this nba lockout isnt on the national news networks.. so many jobs are lost if the season is locked out..

here's a really good example that hits home...

jello's nbachat.ro, he has been building this site for months.. and now there might not even be a season.. that seriously sucks.. but really, i'd imagine like, nearly 50,000 jobs lost from an nba season lockout, at least.. im not just talking about in the nba, but everything that makes money off of it.. people who make hats/clothes/bla bla, vendors (food/beverages/candy etc), advertising, everything that goes on in the stadium, parking around the stadiums.. it's huge.

10/15/2011

sleep = 12 hours + 2 hour nap <-- :D

training: 10 mile run (relaxed arms) in 1 hour 10 minutes, a few stops for traffic lights and one quick piss break.. pace was really good & relaxed for 9 of the 10 miles, no cramping.. last mile was very fast.. starting to get happy.

stretching: after cooled down for 2 hours, lots of stretching.. quads insanely tight/sore.. lool

tomorrow im jump roping, giving running a rest for one day given the 2 day in a row long distance runs.

are u gonna dunk today?

way too tired today.. 12 hours sleep + 2 hour nap.. if im going to dunk tho, itll be in the morning, gotta fig it out for this week based on my work sched.

;F

i wrote a bigger reply but my comp crashed hehe

Ahhh haha isn't that just the worst

well ya.. im focusing mostly on conditioning.. want to get in insane shape, like im supposed to be in.. i still want to dunk tho, and i will.. i just need to rest a day or so before jumping, because my legs are getting battered with all this running/jumprope.. in a few months tho, the running/jump rope shouldnt really cause any fatigue the next day, so jumping shouldn't be as bad in terms of needing more recovery..

that last dunk session i posted a vid of, i felt REALLY good.. had osme great jumps, and that was ~1 week without dunking + doing only running/jump rope during that week.. my jumping will be decent once im adapted to all of this conditioning.

pC man

Okay I see. You run like crazy man, must have a good set of lungs on you.
So pretty much long distance running is taking the priority with dunks in between for fun. What made you decide to make the switch and start running?

Fuck , you're right! LOL

And i wondered how it went through , i was guessing you were too busy with all the recent shit and massively aproved some requests.

hah nope, the spam bots chill and wait, until the right moment, then they spring their threads on us.. hah.. i'll delete other threads when it happens, but this is what it looks like every time i wakeup now:

so, if i wanted to, i could hit 'accept and require confirmation', i've done that on a few, and they havn't confirmed, so they are spambots.

we got it under control now blu. hahah

SUCK THAT ADARQUI!!!

 :P   :uhhhfacepalm:   :wowthatwasnutswtf:   8)   ;D

hahahha

what will you do to yourself if a spambot tricks you?

i'd give it props, like i usually do if it is an intelligent spambot.

:)

i dont see how i'd get tricked though now, it's pretty evident who the spam bots are.. and now that i have to accept or reject new members before they can post, we will now have a spam free forum.
