Progress Journals & Experimental Routines / Re: THE DREAM JOURNAL
« on: October 25, 2011, 12:52:16 pm »
i was walking around the gwu campus. in the dream, there was a giant statue of the man himself (george washington, that is) in the middle of a little circular plaza surrounded by a half-wall. somehow everyone understood that you had to take a picture of yourself holding a smooth basketball-sized ball next to the statue, in order to compete in some kind of contest. in the dream i understood the rules/point, sadly have forgotten all that now.

i went up one day with a couple of friends to take their picture and the statue was gone! there was a big trash bucket in its place and some other construction material type stuff lying around. we knew this was coming but not so soon. then we looked over and saw a plaque on the wall. the inscription read, "4U5W: Whoever plays music up here while having sex with five girls at once can keep the statue forever." And I immediately knew that I needed that statue and that I could do it, I'd just have to wait until dark and make sure the music I chose was pretty chill. Then I woke up.

Never did get around to the orgy.  :(

HAH

you remember details of the dream well, especially what was inscribed on the plaque.. nice

do you know what 4U5W means? seems like, "for you, five women".. interesting.

You have a long memory :-)

I had some problems with my sacroiliac joint, but there was nothing I could actually do about it. It wasn't that painful though :)

Now that I didn't train at all for a while I don't have any problems with it anymore. It might come back but will probably not keep me from training if I start working out again.

ah, yea my memory is pretty good hah.

glad you're ok now man

aches/injuries = feet alot, right knee a little

training sucked tonight, wanted to do tons of jump rope, but my legs/feet were wrecked.. was on my feet all day, strained a peronal on my left lower leg, slightly.. itll be fine though.. strained it trying to push something really heavy, kinda like pushing a truck.

training A: buddy lee jump rope
- 1x1000 in 5:45,
- 1x1000 in 6:25,
- 1x500 in 2:45
- then 3000 (shoulders/lungs felt great, wanted to go a long time, but left ankle/legs/feet just felt way too bad

only good news is i took 600mg ibuprofen before sleep, and leg-drained.. can feel tons of sensation in my feet.

:D

blue collar nation ftw.

i'm starting a second job hopefully soon. thats gonna fuck my training up.

second job? damn..

how many hours a week total, will you be working?

fortunately my job aids my training.. it's good cardio and some strength thrown in at times hah.

hopefully 60-70.

damn thats alot..

im a package handler at fed ex. it seems good for cardio. although it can sorta fuck up my muscle recovery too. i feel like my bench was increasing more steadily before i started working there.

ya definitely, it can effect how fresh you are.

my legs get toasted sometimes.. real achy.

go my rope master buddy lee jump rope!!!!! shit is crazy fast.

aches/injuries = feet/ankles bad

training: buddy lee jump rope: need to get used to it, 4000 turns with alot of messups.. then rested my arms a little, and went max speed for 300 turns, seeing what time i got... 300 turns in 90 seconds.. that'll get better too.. gotta get to 500-1000 turns going all out.

the rope REALLY spins fast.. still hard on shoulders though.. hard to keep a slow pace.. the rope seems a bit small, handles are a bit hard to get used too.. i didnt even hold the padding.

soreness = glutes/calfs

aches/injuries = feet achy, right hip flexor

training:
ran ~7 miles, cut it short a bit, wanted 10.. but hip flexor was acting up after i evaded some car at mile 3.. kept a pretty good pace.. went all out around 6-7, thats when hip flexor gayed up.

stretching: lots

food: tons, 2 pints of ice cream too and 2 bags of chocolate covered almonds, bo$$

need to stretch more.. when i feel real loose, my form really falls into place good.. when i feel tight like today, form suffers.. need to just feel really loose the day im planning to run, which is like, every day so...... need to stretch real good at night..

lungs are starting to adapt to higher paces for long distances.. pushing it a bit lately instead of just relaxing.. ill feel my inspiration muscles freak out then they begin to relax and not over-work.

OH, it's also lots of fun to pass other people running.. it makes running real fun.. for example, you'll see people jogging say 200 yards from you, then you just keep your pace or increase it a little and just fly by them, it's pretty fun. haha.. it's fun to try and keep up with bicycles too, some people are just riding a relaxed pace and dont know you're trying to tail them.

hah this is beast, the former world record holder basically wants to quit after makau pulls away from him at 16 miles..

"Makau pulled away after 27 kilometers (16.8 miles) and finished in 2 hours, 3 minutes, 38 seconds.
Haile Gebrselassie of Ethiopia, who held the previous record of 2:03.59, pulled up after Makau's breakaway and seemed on the verge of giving up when he stopped running and bent over, but resumed the race."

diesel

The times they are running these days are crazy low (to me).  When I was running the Orange Bowl marathon back in 1980/81 the world record was around 2:09-2:10 and the experts were saying it would be really hard to get much lower.  Ha!!  7min faster is around 1/4 of a min faster for every stinkin mile for 26+ mi in a row for over 2hrs straight.  Totally different league/caliber of athlete.  Most of the top marathoners I followed back then were running about 70-75sec qrtrs during their interval training.  Now they're prob running 60-65's.

bleh as i was replying to you, comp crashed.. happens alot lately, shit is on the verge.

anyway, in short.. ya it's insane.. ive never run 26 miles, i cant fathom running an insane pace for that long, hope one day i can... dude's are freaks running low 2 hour times.

how many marathons have you run?
