I just watched the fight. So much went on. Point deduction but castillo was the boxer aggressor and that was effective. But I think mayweather was on a learning curve.

I felt castillo won this fight too, 7-5 if not 8-4 which wouldn't be a stretch, he won most of the last few rounds.

OMG how did the judges have it so far ahead for mayweather.

just felt like re-watching one of my favorite floyd performances. i've posted it several times on this site. This is basically NEO from the MATRIX.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8R3z91fxEcI

Most brutal non-KO beatdown i've ever seen..

Floyd's patience is absolutely astonishing. This is such an incredible performance IMHO. Next level shit. Also a key thing to note: they mention he's wearing gloves considered to be "pillows" to protect his hands. Floyd rarely wore "dangerous gloves" like most fighter's do, he always went for the safer/extra padding gloves @ 147 & up. Another thing to consider..

That performance against Gatti is a damn "masterpiece". The speed is on another level. The counters are on another level. The patience is on another level. The relaxed, non-wasted movement is on another level.

Mindblowing...... IMHO.

lol at the entrance of floyd. Also back then they used to show the judges faces but now they don't.
omg the first round the ref drama, floyd just took advantage, gatti should have defended himself instead look at the ref like ortiz did.
damn the speed and the counters of floyd. Floyd hands are so fast he can punch widthraw and come back with the punch again and do multiple times.
by round 4 gatti is already frustrated and has lost hopes of winning during the round. damn the finish blows to the body.

Do you think floyd lost to castillo in the first fight. one thing floyd does too annoy his opponents in the ring is either use elbow or holding or any tactics repeatedly.

Was pacquiao a disapointment in this match like clottey was in his match against pacquiao?

nah, Clottey was the ultimate disappointment vs pac.. That night, he could have shocked the world IMHO.

Was it the constant having his guard up throughout the entire fight? What do you think would have happened if clottey faced mayweather instead of pacquiao at that time?

Clottey's previous fight was against zab judah and miguel cotto and he was more active then, so if he did that it would have been better in the pac fight. But IMHO I don't see any thing in his previous fights that would make it difficult for pacquiao if he was more active, that would put him more in trouble alot being hit from different angles, fighters when they fought pacquiao know his power and go defensive and when they go toe to toe they lose unless he is like marquez or barrerra who don't mind the hits to the face then it would have been just more entertaining but pacquiao's foot work would cause difficulty for clottey.

Clottey's best performance was against margarito but after losing that fight, he had to adopt a different tactic, maybe become more defensive and box more and smart aggression.

It's like to beat mayweather don't box him but go aggressive but to beat pacquiao don't go aggressive but box him and that's what made the pacquaio vs mayweather fight sooo good, they both were each other's weakness. But pacquiao lost that aggressiveness after being ko'd and losing that fire and started to adopt a more boxing aggresive style which is bad against mayweather. If pacquiao who fought cotto and right after fought mayweather, it would have been even more so exciting and more explosive then this current mess of a fight that we saw.

Boxing / Re: 05/27/2017: Spence Jr. vs Brook

Yeh I saw it. Was a little busy.

But man it was an amazing fight. Kell brook had a good game plan in my opinion. Don't let errol spence get into his comfort zone and that's when errol starts to land some deadly combinations and start drilling, so kell brook would hit and box and counter but tie him up to not let errol be comfortable. He was doing really well. At first kell brook was doing good and just testing him out and after that all the way up to round 6-7. Kell brook was winning those rounds. Majority of them. 7-4 or 6-3. Then later on kell brook started to get tired, I think the weight played a role to it as well as the body shots, because kell had to come down in weight it may have affected him, by some amount. Errol spence is very accurate and one thing I didn't like about kell brook is his defence, he would rely on holding but sometimes that would cause him to lean in and get hit and also when moving side to side he makes himself open to shots. Errol spence once he is in his comfort zone he starts drilling and spence has quick combinations, power and good foot movement. So when kell was tired errol spence would easily pick him apart. After round 8 he was done. That golovkin fight destroyed him like pacquiao did to margarito, he broke his eye socket again. Kell brook has a good heart even when losing and hit spence with some good shots. I think if kell had maintained his game plan and did wat he did up to round 5, he would have won. but he just started tiring out.

The british commentators at the end were harsh sayng that he shouldn't have quit like that, especially tony bellew. Great fight but at the end that knee that kell brook took kind of fizzled spence's celebration.

gg to spence, he is the truth but will need to improve where he went wrong in the first few rounds, i think spence just understimated brooks and tasted some brownies along the way :p. He needs to tighten up his defence and hit and guard. Kell brook was good in his counter punching too.

EDIT: kell brook actually broke the other eye socket, rip, spence has power and did the same damage golovkin did to kell brooks, which was mostly due to spence's accuracy but also kell's lack of defence he would rely on his counter punch as his defence. If you box spence and move, I feel spence finds it difficult and that's why I would like to see errol box more.

Still a testing stage of my hips to see how it is handling it. my knee a little sore from yesterday half squat session cos it felt awkward descending but just some practice should fix.

1495
Back to training but still at the experimenting stage to see if my hips can handle half squats and sprints.

BW: 61kg

Jump squats with empty bar 3 x 5
Back squats empty bar half 3 x 8, +20kg plates total x 8 it was easy cos it was half squats
Calf raises 3 x 20 with bar
RDL 40kg 3 x 8

the squats felt a little awkward, not being able to go full down and descending felt unnatural but still manage to pull them off.

Now will see how the sprints will affect my hip.

OMG i missed that part where the guy punched him bare fist. I didn't see the fight but am gonna watch it. damn he should get arrested and charged for that. A cheap move. I'm suprised how the other guy didn't fall.

terence crawford is such a precision fighter, a fighter like felix diaz who likes to come forward and power shots and force the pace but terence he is so accurate with his hits he always manages to hit diaz on the button and also when diaz makes it messy by charging in felix is able place his footing in the right place and hit and move without diaz landing anything such precision.

Would love to see lomachenko or pacquiao vs crawford.

EDIT: watched the fight, the opponent was just so frustrated that, I don't know why, but just hit him after the bell, The punch looked more frustrated rather than intentional.. It even happened before It was good call to disqualify him even though dirrel didn't want it but the coach shoudn't have done that.

I also watched highlights of arthur abraham, poor dirrel to have it happen again, but the arthur abraham punch didn't happen after the bell but because he was down abraham came with his monster punch.

gervonta davis beat a nobody who was too scared to do anything and loses as expected I don't know why liam walsh was hyped for that. What i saw was pathetic and not even a threat.

Errol spence is good and has power but I think kell brook also has a good chin and maybe able to take some of the shots. But I do feel errol spence would just overwhelm him and win the fight. But I'm not counting kell brook out cos he can box and if error spence comes aggressive, he maybe be outboxed and prob lose like shawn porter even if it's by means of holding alot.

My coach has said that it may possibly be femoral impingement, which is causing the pain in the hips. So will have to go half way down and avoid wide stance with my squats.

1499
Ok, I rested for 1 week after. The pain will always be there but only a mild and only if either i bend at the hips laterally or when i walk forward with the back leg straight behind and my body upright there is pain but I don't know specifically where.

I hate it when there is those abstract pains and I can't pinpoint it. But the pain seems to always be there but doesn't get in the way of my squats.

I did some bw workout and it felt great.

Stretches

BW squat jumps 3 x 10
BW Squats 3 x 10
Single leg calf raises 3 x 20

Did some foam rolling. hip sore not in rest stage but when moving my legs or body in certain position. I also want to buy the spikey foam roll, because I think it maybe be able to get deep into the painful area. Or maybe its just my misunderstanding that messaging it with spikey roller will relieve it.

That guy does the GHR same as me but the longer you do it the more you bend at the hips probably when you reach 10 after its a struggle.

Those are really deadly for hamstring, once you finish you will feel it a lot in the hamstring but its a good feeling.

I progressed from hands pushing to doing it like that. GL
