That was quite entertaining to watch but also made me tired just by watching them. That is intense training to face bigger opponents.

Boxing / Re: Mikey Garcia vs Adrien Broner
« on: July 31, 2017, 07:49:41 am »
Victor ortiz manages to get past corral, but don't think he is ready for the top welterweights and I don't think he will be. Heiland had no chance cos of his injury.

Mikey garcia had a good game plan, especially having the thought of broner being the bigger guy he made good distance and came in for the hits even though broner had good defence, he was able to hit around the guard, upper cut, managed to disturb adrien's momentum, adrien came on good from round 10 onwards but mike garcia just as much back if not more.

Garcia was patient, smart with his punches and had a good game plan. Excellent fight.

mikey vs crawford??  ::)

Soreness: knees a little, back little
BW: 60.1kg

Warm up
    uphill walk 20min
sprint drills (they felt good and explosive)

Workout
   5 x 50m sprints @90% intensity

Cool down
   general stretches
   walk downhill

Comment
It was an alright session, body felt strong and good but the runs lacked the explosiveness and speed combination, felt only a little of that, but it was raining so that feeling comes and goes.

For me it's opposite. The more lower I go the more harder it is. I can do 100kg half squats but 80kg at full squats and even less for atg squats.

Nice, they will be showing it on the bbc channels and online. Excited. Bolt not doing the 200m as he sees the risk of losing it is quite high. Should be exciting.

100m prospects: degrasse, gatlin (little to some chance), yohan blake recovering well, new american talent and usain bolt.

Then you have van neekirk and his blasting away the competitions in the 400m and breaking records. I don't see kirani james or the american guy keeping up with him.

BW: 61.2kg

Warm up
   uphill walk
   mobility/activation stretches

Workout
   squat jumps 26.25kg 3 x 5
   BSS 0kg x 5, 10kg DB x 5, 25kg DB 3 x 7
   Calf raises 80kg x 5, 110kg x 3 x 20
   Depth progressive squats 120kg @pin 9 1 x 3
   RDL 80kg x 5, 100kg x 3 x 7

Comments
Alright session, decided to stick with pin 9 with the heavy progressive squats till its easy then move pin down. Calf raises on edge of thicker plates helps with developing the dorsiflexion power that is required for sprinters especially at the start blocks. Rather than on the floor. Calf raises is alright. BSS are so tiring and hard work. RDL getting easy. Let's see how the speed session goes.

I'm hoping that the people enjoyed the free entertainment but when it comes to purchasing the ppv, it flops in gate revenue, ppv buys and flops in every imaginable. That people just were tuning into watch the highlights or just check out the results in the news lol.
That will put mayweather in a tricky spot. Only the rich and famous attend and the fans just watch it free as highlights.

That is the major problem in these western countries is fruits and vegetables are produced in bulk for business and you get chemicals and nearly every food is processed and therefore makes us lack in the dietary area of our daily intake.

While other countries have more fresh produce.

I would like ggg to win, but canelo is an all rounder. He can go to the body well, head hunting, power, smart brawling and is a power puncher and can defeat golovkin.
But I don't like how dela hoya has been handling this fight, delaying it and doing all the talking. But I feel canelo would win but would like to see golovkin win. Canelo is very slick too, he can combo and counter.

Do you ever find jump squat to be better with resistance band than free weight?

Depending on what you are trying to achieve, using bands can help with explosiveness and elasticity and can be better than free weights. I have never used bands. As free weights has been giving me results.

Cool down
   stretches
   downhill walk

It was a nice day, with a little wind. I had a sore right hip, not the problematic hip, after waking up, felt like just muscle soreness from the workout I did on thursday. So I foam rolled it and stretched it, painful to foam roll. The sprints were good. My speed is back, that feeling you get when you sprint and you feel the speed, it feels good. So my speed is definitely coming back nicely and maybe get my 30m time under 4 seconds in no time.
