story from a friend:

"Random story-time:

So it's legs-day today, and I'm in Leominster. I was taking a rest in between sets, and there's this older, balding, fairly round man (had to be ~60 years old) sitting on a bench, who tells me "Good set." I say thanks, and decide shoot the shit for a minute before I get back to it.

He asks "So ahh, you do the deadlift?" (He had a heavy ass accent, sounded Eastern European)... We talk about how awesome it is (lol why the fuck not), and he goes on to talk about how he used to be a weightlifter back in his day, probably Oly lifting since we also went on about the Clean.

After we're done talking I get back to my set, but then i notice him walk over to a barbell loaded with 4 plates (405lb) - didn't even realize it was there. This balding, fat old man proceeds to fucking STIFF-LEG THAT SHIT RIGHT OFF THE FLOOR. No belt, nothing but straps. He does a 1RM, looks over at me and gives me the upward-head nod with a smile.

Needless to say I haven't been THAT JACKED UP in a while; Figured you guys would appreciate something this nuts+awesome lol."

certainly no one should vociferously judge others for anything really. But saying that one does not have the right to judge is different. I have the right to judge who I want, but I don't because that would be like pretending I understand everything about someone.

I'd like to think of it as making an offering. A challenge.

And lastly, a toast, to this glorious challenge.    :lololol:

I like my confort zone. It's very confortable being confortable and not having to worry about stupid women. Porn satifies the need quickly so I can go on with my life.

hahaha wow I need to get better at expressing myself with videos like that... props.

Yea true I could create a thread. Can we sticky the thread? Like make it darker red so it's more visible, whatever that's called. If it's popular a subthread would be nice I suppose. One thread could be just about getting her number. Another one would be about getting laid.

And Raptor I was joking but seriously that is BS. To be comfortable you have to be uncomfortable first. LOl "it's very comfortable being comfortable..."

Yo seriously this forum is about motivation.

We have a section for sexy pics and shit. But we need a thread about the GAME. About approaching women so beautiful, they intimidate, but inspire, at once. This will help Raptor get over his addiction to porn but also keep testosterone levels extremely high for all of us. We are MEN who are here to support each other, workout and lifting is good shit let's also motivate each other to grow some fucking balls, get out of our comfort zones, and keep pushing ourselves.

Les go. Upvote if you like it. I didn't create a poll because there aren't many options.

It should just be a thread about approaching women, stories of approaching them, good and bad, to serve as inspiration and experiences to grow from.

that's a lot of calve strength!!!

does any one now the minimum requirements for calve strength? I know Kelly Bagget recommends at 1.5 X bw 20 times or single leg calve raises slow and controlled 20 times. Does this sound about right?

THIS QUESTION MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE.

lmao

before lifting? after lifting? totally separate from lifting?

Yea just start jumping. make it up. My favorite depth jump variation is a double depth jump, whereupon landing from the initial depth jump you jump immediately again into a pogo jump.

Some other favorites of mine are:

1. Repeat tuck jumps for height/hangtime
2. Repeat broad jump into tuck jump/vertical jump
3. repeat max or submax broad jumps/ double legged bounding
4. and of course my all time favorite: single leg bounding variations:

I have some of those here in this old vid at 0:07 and  1:36 with number 1. 1:45 is number 3. 00:13 and 01:55 shows number 2. Alternate single leg bounding at 00:36

sticking to just a few exercises is important i'd say.

my quad driven olympic squat... take note of the concentric. best described by lance.. it is a standing leg extension.

That's so beast.

So where if you were to provide a rough estimate of what muscles you feel are most active during that concentric, what percentage would go to glutes, quads, and hams? Alternatively: glutes, calves, hamstrings, plantar flexors, tibialis anterior, VMO, and vastus lateralis?

I disagree with whoever said Kingfish's squat looks more like a LBBS.

I didn't say that though. According to my heuristic of squats, I said Kings HBBS is more PC dominant compared to LBSS' LBBS which is leg dominant. And I gave my reasoning why I think they look that way.

no way to tell without EMG data. You provided no reasoning, only your analysis of your observations, which don't go very deep without any real data. How can KF's squat be more PC dominant than LBSS's when LBSS's hips are way behind the center of mass compared to KF at the bottom of squat?? Did you look at the hip angles? LBSS's hip angle looks slightly more acute than KF's, and he looks to good morning the rep a tiny bit, whereas I don't see that in KF's video.

And of course, I hope you are looking at the END of LBSS's clip where his perceived exertion is much higher, that would only be fair since we are comparing that video to a max attempt from KF. If we look at the last set, we see that LBSS is not as upright as he was during his warmups. A MAX attempt is going to recruit a lot of muscle, in back and legs.

http://www.adarq.org/article-video-discussion/form-check-squats/

quote from LBSS
"@avishek and adarq: feet are shoulder-width. i feel the squats pretty much everywhere, although biased more towards calves/hamstrings/glutes than towards quads. that used not to be the case, i think my stance has widened a couple of inches this year and i do feel it less in my quads than i used to.
