Go for it! Worst case scenario = it fails, we re-migrate back in here and just possibly lose the migrating-period data, right?

Cool. Well, I would do a few experimental migrations first, so that we could use it 'non live' environment. Actual migration would take half a day perhaps, so the forum would be down at that time. So no data loss.

I did some experimental migrations before.. Everything worked great. I never went through with it because:

1) They didn't have a way to 'jump through threads', which they do now.
2) I didn't get anyone's opinions.

So, wondering if people here would have support/objections for moving to nodebb?

https://community.nodebb.org/

Still one of the most beast forums out there.. If not the most beast. I love it. I've been wanting to re-code our forum myself, but, it's just not realistic given my time/amount of work i'm doing etc. If we were to migrate, I'd have some experimental migrations up before we actually make the cut over. This would allow us to test it out etc. It's not an easy process so, if most people are are against it, it wouldn't be worth the effort. If everyone here thinks nodebb might be a great forum to switch to.. then we can start experimenting.

I could code plugins alot easier for nodebb also.. I don't enjoy mucking around in PHP; smf is php.

Boxing / Re: Kovalev vs Pascal
« on: March 16, 2015, 02:02:01 am »
i think pascal was done.. good stoppage imo. If you look at kovalev as the ref was asking him if he was alright, pascal was so loopy, falling all over the place.. Then he got hit with those final shots, you could see him get that 'hazy look'.. That's a dangerous look IMO, imminent brain damage if you keep absorbing shots looking like that.

If you watch the slow mo you might see what i'm talking about.. he's getting clobbered and he's just staring off into space. Once that happens, refs usually stop it because of the "defenseless fighter" rule.

pascal put up a great effort.. fight of the year so far.. simply due to the pascal come back after almost being ko'd to death in the early rounds. Kovalev is a machine though. He knows he hits like a tank and he takes his time.

Boxing / Kovalev vs Pascal
« on: March 15, 2015, 11:33:39 am »
great fight.

What heart from pascal, how did he turn that around. He was basically dead early on then somehow completely turned the fight around.

Kovalev's power is legit.

Boxing / Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao - May 2, 2015

So I dont watch a ton of boxing but I was watching first take this morning on espn and they had Manny on there as a guest. In one part he stated he wasn't worried about this fight as much as others and SAS lost his damn mind (which is always a trip) but I have to agree withh Manny...PBF ISN'T a "scary" fighter, he lacks KO power butnis a masterful defensive boxer. He out points guys, how is that scary?  Im rhinking what Manny meant was hes not scared of PBF KO'ing him, his punches dont scare him. I kinda got the vibe we're going to see the 'old' Manny, kinda reckless and willing to take some chances. Because lets be real, I don't see Floyd KOing Manny, only way he wins is by decision IMO.

Thoughts?

But this is what can happen if you get too aggressive and aren't worried about getting KO'd by PBF:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_juNg4i61g" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_juNg4i61g</a>

Wrecked ^^ You see PBF trying to time him with that punch early on in the round? He basically figured hatton out at that point and knew exactly what to do to end him.

If pac is sloppy and comes in wreckless, it would only be a matter of time before mayweather catches him lethal. Sneaky, fast, right on the button counters don't need lots of power, like seifullaah said.
