bagged gym tonight because my dad got sweet orioles tickets at the last minute. spent the evening right behind home plate, watching a pitchers' duel that ended in a walk-off HR in the bottom of the 11th! first time i've ever seen a walk-off in person!

awesome!@#

sometimes, life>gym. that and genetics are why i'm not an elite athlete. but i can live with that.

:lololol:

lool. i've been thinking about expressing training in the form of algebraic data types and such lately.. redoing the forum/adding some sick features is still a dream of mine. will i ever do it? who knows :(

if/when I ever do that.. it's going to be a serious bich entering old workouts into the system.. I mean we'd do it for anyone still journaling/big journals.. but it would definitely be worth it, the kind of analytics we'd see from it. then we'd wish we had it all along. ;/

Performance Training Blog / Re: Max Effort Beast Mode (MEBM)
« on: July 24, 2015, 04:47:25 am »
MEBM gets a nice mention in this recent Joel Smith article on 20-rep squats:

http://www.just-fly-sports.com/20-rep-squats-for-athletes/

just saw it, dope!

joel smith has linked a few articles/posts from this forum.. really cool. I need to thank him for his support of our forum.

man I miss MEBM. I felt like a feral animal when I was doing MEBM so frequently.

Lol, that's the least amount of effort I've ever made for a +3 post. Just wanted to spread the word.

MEBM is awesome though. I will definitely dust off some of these old adarq performance blog methods when I do my own training again.

nice! how's the MEBM gone so far?

lol why are we all upvoting acole (i did it too)? go find an adarq post to upvote.

hah

Yup, i already re-started doing it.
Also, acole, your post was more than a bump, MEBM became more legit and credible now, it is not an adarqui inspiration only but many coaches preferred tool.
But of course it will never be 20-rep-squats for us, it will always be adarq.org™ MEBM ©  :wowthatwasnutswtf:

maybe one day the s&c world will adopt our terminology.. :D

in honor of the MEBM:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEMYJdxtdGs" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEMYJdxtdGs</a>

forget the depth, slight bouncing off pins, etc.. all that matters is how i walked away from that bar after 45 ~half squats reps with 225:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSmq5IopKuo" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSmq5IopKuo</a>

I was basically MEBM'n daily for months.. just made my legs bionic.

#@R)#FK@#)FK@#)FK

that was definitely the best period in my jump history.

single arm overhead db press:
- 50 lb @ R=12, L=7
- 50 lb @ R=8, L=7
- 50 lb @ R=7, L=5

single arm db curl: 40 lb @ 2 x 5

07/15/2015

single arm db bench press:
- 70 lb @ R=9, L=9
- yay!

single arm db row:
- 70 lb @ 15

close grip semi-sumo deadlift:
- 185 @ 5
- easier than last time

single arm db curl:
- 40 lb @ 5

happy about the single arm db bench.. slowly gaining strength.

in addition to my last comment to lbss: ya i'm basically just deep in the comp-sci/noob math world right now, so, spending lots of time outside of that bothers me. getting these lifting sessions in feels good though, trying to get some strength/physique back :f

why, do you think?

i had the idea of running alot to get my times down, get in crazy shape.. now i'm just running to get some cardio in. too busy studying/reading/coding etc.

the mentality changed. can't really push myself.

pushing myself a little bit with weights though, so that's good at least.
