Did a thing today....went and jumped.

Therapist cleared me friday to lift light and shoot some jumpers and stuff with semi strict instructions not to push it.... soooo....

lifted back/biceps, did some rehab lifting (light, high rep knee stuff) and went to the court. warmed up a little woth some jumpers and said fuck 8t, im dunking the 9 and a half foot goal. Knee was sore-ish on takeoff and had very mild pain on landings. After a few jumps tho it subsided so I ventured to 10 foot. I can still dunk buty timing on lobs and stuff is wayyy off. Guessing max vert now is right around 40-41 at best. Not bad for wekks and weeks off! Took a few vids, will upload later. Much stretching to do now.

good news!

that should comfort your mind a bit.. now just ease into it  :ninja:

Boxing / Matthysse vs Postol
« on: October 04, 2015, 11:53:35 pm »
very surprised at this fight.. Viktor Postol pretty much owned Matthysse. Postol is enormous for 140. He was timid during the fight but still dominated... that's impressive. When he let his hands go, Matthysse had no answer and was in serious trouble. Matthysse really should have invested more to the body.

Really impressed with Postol.. If he can keep winning and eventually fight Crawford, that would be a sick fight.

On shotime, edner cherry fought padraza.. horrible robbery imho. Cherry definitely won that. They really need to fix these outright robberies in boxing, I knew Cherry had no chance winning that, no matter how many rounds he won. The story of the up and comer vs the old timer. Pretty much the only way to beat the up&comer is to tko/ko.

didn't watch much of the broner fight.. not interested until he fights some bigger competition again.

bw = 173
soreness = shoulders/forearms somewhat
aches/injuries = right hand

Session: lift & shadow tennis

S1: neutral grip pullups or chinups
- BW @ 3 x ~7

S1: ssbar deep squat:
- 165 lb. @ 3 x 10
- felt good

S1: tennis form stuff

still want to squat pretty much daily.. just had lots of soreness last week, but that was from RDL's. rdl's always wreck me. So RDL's messed up my lower body lifting last week. I need to eventually perform rdl's (light) near-daily too for more bionic hamstrings.

the one-handed backhand is so beautiful. him and wawrinka both. grip strength must be off the charts to pull that off the way they do. i occasionally switch to it and it's so much harder than two-handed.

ya fed's one handed backhand is the one i'm "studying". I use a single handed backhand, so he's pretty much the prototype.

as for grip strength, dno.. alot of these pros hold the racquets pretty relaxed, very loose. I hear lots of differing opinions on it. when my arm is stiff/locked on my single arm backhand, it's alot easier to get alot of power out of it.. if i have some bend, seems to be much harder to get that power.
