Track & Field / Gatlin apologizes for doping ban
« on: September 04, 2017, 05:17:38 pm »
Because of the majority of the british public's lack on knowledge due to the biased information british media portray about justin gatlin, he officially apologises 'first time' according to ITV news, even though he made an apology beore that.

Oh well as long as the british people see this and can understand it, else they are just ignorant and do not want to accept gatlin as the new 100m champion and defeater of bolt.

I don't recall seeing others apologise yet the british public adores them.

seifullaah73, i didn't ignore you either, i am just not knowledgeable at all about running/track shoes, i follow only bball shoes review sites, so i left the choosing to Andrew.

I know you guys didn't ignore me. I thought that since I already had found a nice shoe on that site. But I will wait to see what adarq can find if asics pirannha is not good.

My hips click all the time but not as bad as fastdoeslie is referring to but to the extent the guy in the video is mentioning about. When I straight it and bend it it always clicks but not out of place, just clicks.

hah nice!

glad you whooped your bro... :ninja:

that looks like a serious hill for hill sprints.

Thanks

Ye, I wouldn't recommend the steep hill for sprints, you will basically be doing hill step ups pushing from one leg to another slowly till you reach the top, but ye it is a steep hill even first image not that steep but towards top it's less steep so that would be good place to do it.

As we know connor fatigued quite quick and because of that he was losing and lost in round and one of the main reasons he gassed out, which many boxers do, but can handle it better than mcgregor ofc cos they are boxers is floyd's precise body shots, even though the old mayweather would have done so much more body shots and those pot shots to the body, they look weak but do take effect.

Note: Tuesday was my only workout session, Thursday I wasn't able to go and yesterday and today was EID, so it was a break and trip out with the family including today, and I managed to get some sort of work done, as today is speed work I did mainly hill work.

What I did was a few minutes of walking as warm up. Then I did 3 sets of uphill sprints (it was more of strides than sprints). The image below is a bit of the hill, not the one out far, but the floor the picture was taken from, but the gradient gets steeper the further you get so I was coming up this hill for 3 sets just under 30 meters.

Then me and my brother wanted to race up the hill in the image below, grass next to the chalky/dusty trail you can see in the image below. I got 1/4 I was tired, I reached half my quads dead full of lactic acid and I just was on hands and feet to rest then continue my stride/run up then rest on all 4's then repeat, I didn't want to crawl it i wanted to finish it running. I started at jogging pace and my brother a little faster, but my brother gassed out 1/3 way up the hill and gave up running but I was half way at this point. So he stopped I pushed to the finish.

There is the path to the top of the hill where we walk to then we came down the second white path from the right it to get to the hill we ran up.

It was a fun challenge. We then walked back for lunch. Then went home.

Wow nice. It looks like it started last year.
Looking forward to it but not looking forward to the disappointing play by England. They lose every major championship.

Damn!! was looking forward to that fight too.

I don't see mares winning that fight, cruz height advantage is the thing that makes it hard for mares, looking forward to it but don't see mares winning.

« on: September 01, 2017, 04:45:39 pm »
just watched the fight again with my dad, because he's one of those people who think Conor/Floyd had an agreement not to hurt each other for the first 5 rounds - which is based off of nothing, just maybe his WWE watching.

anyway watching the fight a second time, it was still enjoyable. I've never "laughed" so much at a fight. I mean I cracked up when Conor countered Floyd, when Floyd would just casually tee off on Conor, when Conor did all kinds of crazy hammerfist stuff, when Conor hit Floyd with a good body shot & Floyd acted like he got hit to the nuts, when the ref pushed Floyd, when Conor cheap shotted Floyd after the low blow warning, and when Floyd was just walking Conor down at the end trying to end his life.

lots of laughing.. because it really was a circus, but a very enjoyable one.

I think it was round 8 where Conor dug deep and got off some great shots on Floyd. Here he was, completely dead, and he pulled some great combos/shots off and was effective. To me that is so impressive considering the state he was in.

Maybe the most impressive thing when re-watching it though, is how relaxed Floyd is. I mean it was apparent watching it live, but it's even more impressive watching it again. Floyd is just so relaxed, focused, powerful, fast, patient, etc. At no point in that fight did I see him look tired, worried, impatient, etc. That experience, composure, skill is the biggest take home point people should have from this event.

Also, Floyd basically taught alot of MMA fans about boxing punching vs MMA punching .. MMA punchers try and learn to improve their boxing etc, but even a guy with some of the best striking in MMA didn't look anywhere near as fluid/clean/powerful/relaxed/fast as Floyd, IMHO. I mean it's pretty evident from the footage. Conor landed some good shots but Floyd's shots had real sting, even if he was barely putting anything behind them. Some of Floyd's shots toward the end were just so clean and effortless, yet just cracked Conor so hard. Floyd's probably thrown 10 million more punches than Conor...

Also, Conor was wrecked at the end. LOL at people who thought he was fine. He was completely toast. When you see an early stop where the guy is fine, he gets the ref off of him real quick. Conor laid on those ropes with the ref for like 60 seconds. Smart move by him making people believe he was getting ready for his second wind for rounds 11/12 lmfao. People already talking about "would Conor win in a rematch?!!?" LFMAO.

Finally, look at how much we talked about a "hybrid circus fight"... Definitely makes sense that this broke every record, just given our discussion on it.

Exactly about the last point. This ppv defines floyd as boxer. People love floyd and watch his fights but alot of people hate him and therefore tune into see someone hopefully defeat him as for this ppv it was soo bad it was actually gaining attention regardless if it was bad or not just the fact that the people were talking about like in this thread, we talked about how bad this fight was, what each said what ridiculous statement each made. So ye it makes sense how it broke records and I understand now based on your other reply that this is actually good for boxing because you are getting more viewers. A big problem in a lot of sports is when they involve politics and make it more business than entertaining the fans.

Quote

I have to disagree with the above statement. If you remember the image I posted, which I will post below. but ofc it wasn't intentionally but it definitely looks half on the belt and half below.

But it is entertaining to watch, would have loved to see the floyd of old add more slickness and accuracy. But without that it was still entertaining. But conor had good head movement making floyd miss, which ofc the floyd of old would have hit it. but ye.

OMG plz no rematch lol.

I could not get any of the shoes you recommended as I am still training in my asics trainers. I would like get some light trainers for training and for  small meets.

cool!

can you link some sites that would be able to deliver shoes to you?

can you order from http://www.runningwarehouse.eu/fpc.html?

I order from them in the US, great customer service etc, great return policy, lots of cheap flats.

Thanks for the link. It shows that they do order to the UK, so I think I can order from here.
what shoes that is cheap and would be good for me to training sprinting. I don't want to go too light, I want to use them for the meets.
Unless you recommend I get the lightest possible then ok.
1. Training Light
2. Meets

When competition becomes more stronger that small seconds matters than I will do spikes.

You're in the UK right? Check this site, realy amazing combination of huge variety and low prices: www.sportsshoes.com

Yep. Thanks for the link.
Maybe you and adarq can choose a good shoe from this site, which may not be available in the other site adarq posted above.

EDIT:
Wow these are super light.
ASICS PIRANHA SP5 RUNNING SHOES from the sportsshoes.com but it's asics.

I see 2 factors to this fight. 1 being GGGs age because he looked almost human in his last bout with Daniels. 2 being if going up in weight slows Canelo at all since hes a predominantly counter puncher. Either way this is going to be a great fight considering the style clash. My heart says GGG but like Adarq said, Canelo is a boxers boxer.

yea Jacobs is legit though. I think Canelo looked more human against Jacobs more so because Jacobs is enormous, has serious power, and can really box. But that size/strength won't be there with Canelo .. However, Canelo's boxing skills are something GGG hasn't seen in a long time. He had problems with Brook's boxing offensive ability but wasn't afraid of Brook's power - and Brook's defensive boxing ability is nowhere near Canelo's.

really can't wait for this.

As of right now, i'm going Canelo by UD 12. I think Canelo's cajones (sp?) in his career will also be the difference maker, think about what this "kid" has done already in his career, going up against a prime Floyd & such. Never backed down from a challenge. I think he's learned more in his career than GGG has. Just think that'll be the advantage that gives him the edge.

Also, I don't think Canelo will slow any due to weight gain. I think he'll look crazy sharp at 154. He's been filling in more over time, probably hard for him to get to 147 these days anyway.

Love both fighters, but got a special respect for Canelo because of the opposition he's faced.

peace!!

That is true, even though jacobs did last to such an extent some thought he won, I didn't but to survive in there shows GGG is human, but it's also because as you mentioned jacobs has power and good boxing ability and a big middleweight if not natural, which Canelo isn't and canelo has power but according to his fight with Julio cesar and didn't do much damage except for damaging julio because of his inactivity and poor defence. I don't think he was able to bring that power into the middleweight, regardless of what he did to amir khan who is a welterweight. So you have to consider that too, that canelo might not bring the power up and what you have left is a power puncher boxer vs a quick counter puncher boxer. Also ggg has a better chin and can possibly endure more than julio.

So what I think will happen is that it will probably be close either ggg ends it via tko near the 8th-10th round or UD to canelo, because canelo is slick and can move and that will make it hard for ggg.

So GGG will have to try and land some serious power shots early to the body to slow him down than finish him off by tko or ggg winning by 12UD.

My Prediction is (really difficult) GGG TKO Round 10  :ninja:

Also what you said about canelo's opposition, I think this is down side to when boxer's dominate, it scares people away from fighting them and therefore getting less exposure as for Canelo gained more exposure and his fight with floyd helped him with his exposure.

SP=Cojones.
Cajones means drawers lol.
