slept in way too late today!! feh.

i like what i did prior to my day run, contrast shower really helped my legs wakeup.. lungs however, different story. Lungs feeling dead could just be me not being able to cop with any lactic acid .. i havn't been eating as much as when I was loading up on bananas.. so my body could be tapping more into fat instead of glycogen today (and tomorrow considering how I ate).

was going to singup for a tennis tournament on saturday but they have a strict dress code and it's scheduled to rain all day (like it has been all week). They require tennis shorts and a tennis shirt.. i actually don't have that. HEH! I have normal clothes for tennis, but not 'club level'. So forget it for now..

obviously deserves a thread..

- depth jump @10" x 10,10
these are dumb. should be doing fewer reps, more intensity.

You can still do 2 x 10 @ 18" though if you've progressed your volume / box height (which you've done). I personally like the volume. Verkhoshansky usually prescribed shock phases with 3-4 x 10, but from even higher heights (above SVJ).

I think I remember you not liking 10 reps at 18"+ box height though.. Definitely don't want to increase box height & hit 10 reps if you're feeling aches/pains in your knee/back etc.

Is he 'genetically gifted'? or did he work for his jumping ability? I imagine it's the former.. maybe i'm wrong though.

I usually get angry when genetic jumpers tell us non-genetic jumpers to "relax". For me it was quite the opposite.. to get higher, I had to get more angry. The act of jumping for me is very violent. As I got stronger (squat, plyos, work capacity), my relaxed warmup jumps got higher, but they were nowhere near my PR jumps.. I got to the point where I could do relaxed warmup dunks, they felt great.. but in order for me to achieve peak power, I had to start getting aggressive. If you've ever seen me journal about "hurting the ground", "pushing the earth down", "getting ampd", "psyching up" etc; that was an angry, aggressive mindset. I mean how many times have you seen me yell before or after a dunk? I'd even put my teeth together and almost 'growl' with my throat (with valsalva) many times before attempting my best jumps, similar to grinding out a heavy near maximal squat.

This is a good example of extreme anger dunking.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xypWSL5YVEw ... I remember this session good. I was really amp'd up, had a bad day watching my grandpa, dad got home real late (had to wait for him to come home before I could leave my grandpa), got to the basketball gym (24 hour fitness) at 12:30 AM.. started dunking around 1 AM.. if you notice the clock on the wall, that's not PM, it's AM.. Anyway.. that's not relaxed jumping. That's violent-aggressive jumping.

So I guess my point is.. if being relaxed works for you, then great that's much better than having to amp up and go psycho to get every inch out.. This would most likely indicate you are HIGHLY reactive. If not, you're going to have to probably get really amp'd up to get every inch out of your jumps.. and it may only happen on a few jumps. Many of us equate jumping to shotput, except you're throwing your body:

guy is yelling as he's throwing it.. just so intense.

just something to think about..

That was not a dream, you just watched rambo 3 before falling asleep.

i dreamt that as i was winding my watch, the knob kept coming out farther and farther, and the back of the watch started to come apart. not fall apart, but kind of expand and rearrange itself like a little transformer. then i couldn't figure out how to push it all back together.

check the gif i put in the mma gif's thread recently:

http://www.adarq.org/mixed-martial-arts/mma-gif's/msg111370/#msg111370

roussey should not try to stand and trade with a professional striker... her standup is atrocious.. lmfao.

alot of people saying her trainer is ruining her brain.. making her think she can KO people. She's never going to be a striker.

glad holm ktfo'd her ;f

holy crap 15 hours of sleep.

ya, hibernation.  :o

I got 10 today too.. ;f

Hey, what'd you think of the Ronda fight if you watched it(its been floating around fb)  Looks like shes been too cocky that she will beat everyone so quickly that she didn't work on conditioning because she was looking like me after doing a metcon in the second round.

yo, didn't watch it. I saw some gif's though.. Heard she was just outboxed. Holm has waaaaaaaaay better standup. Alot of people seemed to want Rhonda to lose because of her recent cockyness, seems like they got their wish. I didn't hear anything about her gassing though, only that she got taken to school in boxing and then KTFO'd.

Yeah I skipped the first round because well girls fighting is boring when its a sport, when they are grabbing each others hair and ripping clothes thats when it gets interesting.  The 2nd round she looked wobbly, could've been because of her gassing or the kicks n punches to her dome.  She looked hot in the pretty much nudie pics she took but after that fight eeeek, looked like her face gained 10lbs lol

I saw that she didn't touch gloves to start the fight... nice.. glad she got her ass beat :)
