i didn't see it yet but i saw the results..

adarqui :highfive: seifullaah73

i heard the vargas/miuara fight was insane.

 :highfive:
It was insane, what an amazing fight, it was exactly as we predicted.
You definitely need to see it.

Spoiler alert

Cotto was boxing at the beginning throwing combination and was on his feet most of the time, but only a few of his punches would make some sort of impact alot of them canelo could walk through. canelo was finding his rhythm and landing his powerful punches, I knew he was not good on his feet so he was flat footed, but he is powerful and can cut the ring well and can just attack, and I loved his signature move on the night, the left uppercut i think, he would use it all the time. cotto had a good jab but that started to fade as canelo moved forward making it hard for cotto to backup and jab. cotto had moved alot in the fight. I knew it would end up like this, canelo was just getting better and better. Cotto was fading, he had no effective power and man canelo's reflex he would counter so brilliantly and his dodging and weaving at a point when just standing, man canelo was really good and then towards the end of the fight canelo was dominating cotto, roach just never did anything except for just motivate him, no new skills. Last round was action packed, canelo just let loose, cotto moving alot and was hoping for knockout but was happy with the result and the fight.

Canelo should face ggg but i don't think canelo will.

the vargas fight was intense, vargas on first round with the powerful punch that nearly toppled miura, wow the fourth round knockout from miura, he started picking it up and did really well nice combinations and punches. loving the one two punches from miura not very defensive but he is on the offensive alot vargas cannot get to him much. alot of hard hitting from miura not alot of boxing. just hard hitting, wow then vargas caught miura, miura trying to hold on but vargas just letting loose and the match was stopped.

nice! thanks for the recap. can't wait to check out the replay on Saturday.. I think klitchko fights saturday too? I forget.

check out this epic counter/slipping from Canelo:

so much flair. feel like he and j will should be in the same thread. steph curry, too.

definitely..

As far as watching tennis pros, there's nothing like watching Monfils. The entire match, for the most part, he's having fun. Smiling, laughing, occasionally doing trick shots, hitting crazy winners, acknowledging his opponents shots. Really unique.

Having a lot of fun in the comments section of the youtube video about the black lives matter people going into the college library and "protesting"

ya that video was annoying.

a silent protest would have been impressive ;f

interrogating students who are studying etc, chanting non stop.. it's a library ffs. If it was a KKK library then that would make more sense.

adarq yea mine sounds similar then.  has it ever bothered during split squats? or jumping?

jumping = yes, mostly around the time that i'm aggravating it with something like deep squatting. When I cut out things that aggravate it, it starts to disappear from bothering me in actual sport actions and instead bothers me when i'm doing extremely low intensity stuff. very weird. I forget if it's bothered me during split squats; i imagine it has - under load. Unloaded split squats currently feel pretty good.

Oh, one place it did bother me (more consistently) when jumping was in SLRVJ when driving my off-leg knee up.

Stuff like this hits it pretty good, but doesn't help too much:

right leg:

left leg:

right leg:

right leg:

This is basically how I re-injured it.. so pathetic.. ankles on top of each other though and torso angled up a bit, on the couch:

-going to switch to half squats, only a few inches above my current squat depth i believe.

nice.. warmup extra good though. Hopefully that depth feels pain free.

rained basically all day.. got one session in.

11/21/2015

sleep = 10 hours
bw = 165
soreness = calves slightly (HEAL ALREADY..)
aches = right knee slightly, right hip like usual (not during training), right elbow slightly (from tennis)
injuries = trigger finger slightly (it hasn't been locking as intense lately.. could be improving finally, not sure)

Food

- 1 x gatorade

Session: Morning

jump rope:
- warmup
- 5 x 100
- really liked doing this as a warmup.. think it's a good idea before running in the morning.
- for example, don't run if i'm making mistakes on jump rope.. soo.. make sure you're awake enough to not make any mistakes on those 100's, then it's time to run.

run:
- 4 mi
- slow and relaxed, felt great though

Food

- 2 L gatorade
- greek yogurt
- orange juice

Food

- steak quesadilla
- nacho chips + salsa

Food

- 3 bananas
- greek yogurt

Session: Foam Roll + Stretching

- really dug into my peroneals, itband, glutes, quads, calves, tfl
- lots of stretches
- feel good

Food

- gatorade

hope to get in two runs tmw..

That reply actually made a lot of sense. Plus what Toddday said in his thread.

cool!

The reason why I was doing more than 4 so-called bounds was, in my mind, to "teach" the body to accept many shocks, I guess I was doing something similar to Air Alert, except it's Bounding Air Alert haha :P

lol @ bound alert

Quote
Yeah, if I could limit the number of them and just focus on the length and power, that would be more helpful (both in terms of power AND form). Maybe a good idea is to try a standing triple jump, LLL and RRR.

By the way, I was doing Joel Smith's program back then, and it called for LRLR, LLRR, LLLL, RRRR for ~20-30 meters. That's more than 4 bounds, so I did them for the length prescribed. That's another reason I did more than 4.

ahh.. gotcha.

Anyone ever had any issues with this.?  Summed up in bb post below. Sucks. Going to try doing higher squats and BSS along with mobility work...

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=138509543

I have hip pain now, which is similar to long ago when I injured my hip deep squatting. It was very scary back then when I injured it, almost feels like my hip is arthritic. Could very well be that "Trochanteric Bursitis" but who knows, never got it officially diagnosed. After a while I had to switch up my training. I decided to stop going deep completely, only half squats from then on.. slowly (over a long period of time) it got better even as I kept training.

I re-injured it ~1.5-2 months ago literally lying on the couch with my legs "somewhat indian style". Crap has been bothering me ever since, but not when I run or play tennis (only a few times when playing tennis which was scary, but that stopped). It hurts mostly when i'm relaxed, "activities of daily living" (such as getting in and out of the car) where I just start feeling it as my femur moves around.

It's annoying & somewhat scary.. Other than seeing a doc, I really have no advice except; do not aggravate it under load. I've tried all kinds of stretches, mobility exercises, strengthening  exercises, foam rolling, tennis ball etc .. it's improving at a snails pace. If I rested completely it might improve faster, but as long as it isn't bothering me during my training i'm taking my chances for now.

what's left to try:
- icing
- NSAID

dno, sounds similar. That's my experience with it.

Boxing / Re: Miguel Cotto vs Canelo Alvarez - 11/21/2015

It seems like a big fight, they say it's the next biggest fight after mayweather pacquaio, probably but by a long shot, it's no where near may-pac, I didn't feel the hype of this fight that much compared to may-pac.

I think because cotto defeated martinez, who had a bad knee, which I think martinez in his prime would have demolished cotto and then cotto faced delvin and geale at catch weights, this has made cotto's head big, as you correctly mentioned, that does not show me cotto has a chance against canelo, cotto is good, he had a good sparring session. He hit's hard, but a boxer who moves will give him problem, like austin trout, bad loss for cotto.

exactly.. bum knee sergio and two non-elite fighters, cotto/roach heads are inflated. I can't believe Roach and his camp are saying this fight will be easy.. if it's easy for cotto, then i'll realize I don't know much about boxing. lul.

kirkland isn't that great but he's a big threat to whomever is fighting him.. he's an "animal". That was pure domination, beautiful boxing + power from canelo. The biggest win in the last 3 fights for either guy, is definitely Canelo's win over Lara. Lara is "boring" but he's extremely skilled, a very difficult guy to fight - so elusive with decent speed/counter attacking.

Quote
Canelo on the other hand, in my opinion, has been progressing nicely, especially the knockout of kirkland, his fight against mayweather was really bad, he just was slow, even though they were training him to be fast, so I don't think he will have speed but he does have the angles, like when he fought lopez, he was really good.

So this is a good match up, I think canelo will win, but not knockout, cotto does fall easy.

Canelo UD12

GGG is probably too big and won't come down and canelo won't move up, so canelo will have to vacate.

ya whoever wins has a mandatory with GGG.. I think canelo has the balls though to move up. Cotto definitely doesn't want anything to do with GGG.
