Boxing / Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Conor McGregor

If you want to see Floyd vs Conor early, this is how it'll probably look:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqerSSt07JA

^^ The Matrix.

and Gatti was a really good (not elite) boxer with a chin of granite & decent hand speed.

:ninja: :ninja:

C'mon man Gatti thought the ref was stepping in and Floyd hit him with his hands down.

Dude you're overthinking it. Why not train hard and to perform whatever you need to perform? Not a rhetorical question. Actually why not? I ask myself the same question all the time and I can't find a good enough answer as to why I don't do this.

if i rephrased it as gain 5kg of bw to add 10kg to the bar, then diet off 2.5kg of fat; repeat. it wouldn't seem that overthinky .. ha

Sounds much better haha. Reading it back my post sounds a bit harsh which wasn't the intention.

What happens on Aug 26?

Mayweather v McGregor

lol i'm not looking forward to that at all, mcgregor is going to get slaughtered.... no fun when u know exactly whats going to happen....

FWIW I think Mayweather wins but...

At worst McGregor has a punchers chance. He carries concrete in his hands and is a unique mover. He will come in bigger than Floyd with reach to boot and if Floyd is as defensive as he would normally be then McGregor has so much more freedom to move around. I think it's going to be a really interesting fight.

Looking back on the NBA season, I don't see GSW being that much ahead of Cavs like everyone thinks.

I mean game 1 and 2, the cavs were in it til halftime then 2nd half got blitzed okay......

Game 3 cavs were up 6 with 2 minutes left......

Game 4 cavs blew em out

Game 5 cavs were in it AND kyrie started getting hurt.....

It's Lue's fault tbh for relying so heavily on Kyrie and Lebron all season, they have other weapons.... look at JR, Channing didnt even get used lol, shump, korver, derrick williams, and wtf why not give kay felder even if he stunk it up at first.... he's nervous as hell and was injured..... dude had a 39 inch svj!!!!

I'm sure they didn't train as hard as GSW either..... even though they said they "put in the time" .... bs....

Largely agree with you here. For me the big difference is those defensive lapses like when they forget to switch on a screen and let GSW waltz into an open basket. Simple mistakes that shouldn't be made at that level. Interested to see what happens in the trade period and next season.

But for now bring on Aug 26.

Had the first annual Aus East Coast meet up yesterday. Me and Acole that is. Really good to put a face to an internet name.

Nothing really note worthy to put here. We're both a bit detrained and there was nothing worth getting on film. Both had jumps in the 30ish range. Acole prob a cpl inches higher. My highest jump for the day was 30" off 2 feet with a 2 step lead in. Was getting nothing off 1 with a max of probably 27-28. Looking forward to catching up in another couple of months when hopefully we both have some more decent training under out belts.

Extended warm up

Squat- bar x 10, 60 x 5, 80 x 5, 100 x 5, 110 x 5
Tuck Front Lever x 10s x 5

Super quick session. Got my squats in and was done. Really need to take my lifting shoes off for front lever work. It's just not conducive to progressing with any consistency here.

happy for GSW & especially Durant.

Got his ring. Woulda rather seen him get it on a less stacked team, but whatever.

Agreed on Durant. That's the silver lining of GSW winning.

Devo for CLE. Should have just given JR the ball every play the last 2 minutes.

ya man.. that was disappointing.

CLE should have been fouling like crazy the last ~3 minutes.. and then doing what they were doing on offense, very intense attack or kick it to JR Smith.

TBH, they "gave up" (edit: or more like, just accepted the L), they didn't fight to the very end.. and they lost by 9. They had some key missed opportunities in the last 2 minutes, turnovers/bad D - but that was because they had already given up imho.

JR Smith was automatic tonight, should have fed him alot more.

Would have just liked to see them play it more like an NCAA March Madness finish, where you keep fighting up until < 10 seconds, even if you're down 10.

Agreed 100%. They looked tired and accepted their fate. The shit thing about that is some of the greatest comebacks have happened that way. McGrady anyone???

kyrie split the defense but couldn't even catch up to the ball.... he was really aching.... hope uncle drew will get healthy and destroy em next year....

CLE had too many passengers and too much load on Kyrie and Lebron. Bring in PG and go again next year haha

KD was just automatic though. Ridiculous. Reminds me of that Rucker Park game.

Bloody head cold over the weekend. Went to squat on Sunday and my head nearly exploded so I called it. Will get in there again today and maybe got for some easy singles ahead of my jumping session with Acole tomorrow. I feel terribly under prepared but will see what tomorrow brings.

I say we'll see fireworks in game 5. CLE will come out super aggressive again and GSW won't want to get jumped again. There'll be plenty of conflict and watch for the refs to try and take control so nothing gets out of hand. I'm expecting more techs than last game and at least one ejection.....hopefully Draymond.
