Aight, Blake's woman sent me some clips from us goofing off playing 1v1. No real defense was played and the game wasn't all out by any means, more of just working on some moves. For some damn reason though she cut off me making the shots. Oh and ignore the commentary lol! That's his chick and our buddy, who didn't want his butt kicked 1v1 ;)

Thanks LBSS!

Ian, if I had to guess, SVJ is around 34-35" as my reach is 7'6" and I can get my palm to the rim. RVJ is probably low 40s although that one jump IMO was probably a mid 40 but IDK if it's repeatable consistently. I hope it is soon though!

I guess I may have worded that a little wrong. You don't want to ACTIVELY tighten your core like you would in a lift, it's just that the better posture will/should automatically do so to a certain extent. This will help breathing as well as your diaphragm won't be constricted.

Saturday January 18th 2014.

Went and played pickup ball with some good friends for 3 hours. Hams were a little sore but that was expected, still played rather well. My buddys girl showed up at the end and took some vids. I was jumping ok and trying to get my buddy (Blake) to get a clean dunk in and when he finally did I guess I got pretty hyped for him lol! Anyway she caught a few misses (including single leg jumps :o lol) and a jump on her phone so I'll post them along with some clips of me playing 1v1 with dead legs afterward lol! She didn't get my clean reverse though. :(

Thought I was going to miss this one because I jumped further out than normal.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvIetfqkk5M

Got this one pretty clean though.

I WILL get this one!!! So close lol

One footed attempts. My run up is HORRIBLY SLOW lol! I'm going to start practicing these a little. It's weird I jump off one much quicker in game situations.

Friday January 17 2014

Bodyweight...177-178lbs. I kind of let myself go there, eww. Will clean up the diet asap.
No soreness because I haven't been able to lift and the knee feels good so here we go!

-Warmup=jumps

-Deadlifts
(warmups) 225x5 275x1 315x1 365x1 (grip fail just before lockout). Surprising, grip failed though and I dropped it just before finishing the lift. Bah.
(worksets) 315x 5 315x5 315x4 (failed rep 5). Had to reset second set on rep 4/5 for grip as well.

-Jump squat
50lbs x5, x5, x5. Box jump supersets.

-Ham curls
120lbs x10, x10, x10.
SL 60lbs x10 each leg.

-BSS
100lbs x6 (each leg). 2 sets.

Played around with glute thrusts as well for two sets at light weight, definitely going to add them in more.

Chest/tri circuit and core work. Hadn't flat benched in a long time but got 225 for 5 pretty easy, I'll take it. Shot around in 30* weather for 30 minutes..hands went numb lol! Good session overall.

Me too! What kills me is how damn long he his! Look where his head is in relation to the rim and he still puts it down. Ughhhh!

Correct. A wider stance would allow for a few things. You'll be able to slide your feet rather than shuffle, you'll be in a better position to flatten your back which should allow you to tighten you core/be in a better position to change directions and you'll be lower which allows defending ball position/passes easier.

When I am actually playing D (rare lolol) my feet are outside my shoulders.

I "LeBron'd" last night in a pickup game... I made sure to scream "Lebron" as I landed across the lane from the pick. Lots o laughs.

LBSS has a valid question.

I use some (can't remember where I got them, Elite something?) that are 120lbs of resistance at the top of my squat. I want to believe they've made a difference.

Ok, time to update. :D

Went to the doc Monday and got an x ray and MRI scheduled amd an appointment with a knee specialist. The dr didn't think I had any serious damage after some testing and said it was probably a strain or hyper extension of sorts (hence the referral to the knee specialist). So, Tuesday morning I'm getting ready for work and the knee "pops" again, short burst of pain and soreness immediately. I go to work and call my dr to see him again after work (fearing the worst). Funny thing is....by lunch...I was pain and soreness free?!?! Went to see the dr anyway, he seems to think I have a tendon or ligament that is "loose" and is moving across a bone causing the pops and soreness (its being strained from being out of place).

Anywayyyyy....he still wants me to see the ortho and get an MRI to make sure but he gave me the go ahead to work my way back into lifting and hooping!

Needless to say I'm ecstatic. I shot and jogged tonight and am pain/soreness free so far! :D

Well, lifted Monday night, the usual squat workout. Haven't squatted since Christmas (been working on deadlift) and quads and glutes are major sore. So I went to go shoot to get some blood flowing tonight and I am freaking out. My right knee (the back) is swollen and really sore. Extending my leg hurts a little. This has been going on for a few months now randomly but tonight it is noticeably worse. I will be calling the doc in the morning and most likely scheduling a scan as I have a close friend who partially tore his ACL and our symptoms/swollen area/etc are virtually identical. I'm hoping and praying it's nothing but I'd rather be sure so no lifting or playing until after I get some answers. This sucks. Hard.

Updates.....I'm not dead lol!

Lifted a few times since Christmas, same stuff as usual. Got sick on New Years and am almost back I think. Didn't have the energy to lift after work while sick. Anyway, new year, time for some renewed vigor and some gains!!!!!

I'll probably post some goals when I update after tonights weight session.

Shot around today for an hour and a half. Worked on a few moves at partial game speed, really just working on footwork. Goofed off and hit a few left handed 3s lol (its cheating, Im a lefty that shoots right handed). Didn't feel like jumping for some reason (prolly the lackadaisical shoot around lol) but crushed a one hander off an oop from a kid that was shooting with his dad as I was leaving. He got all excited like it made his day so that was really cool. :)
