my mom watches bball.. but she actually smiles/laughs/mind blown expressions when she's watching Curry. For anyone else, she's just watching a game, nothing special.

that curry RANGE is just disgusting.

both feet still sore. both of them getting better, but not recovered enough. left heel is barely bothering but, i can still feel it slightly. wonder wtf happened in there.

funny how jacked up my body is getting.. but i'm glad that i'm resting more instead of training through it. That's a good thing. FWIW, i've never really committed to running + jumping in the same session, like I am now. When I was younger i'd jog ~1 mile to the court then play bball - somewhat often, but that's nothing compared to 4 miles then doing "near-ME jumps", then running 4 miles back. So, this is a fairly new stimulus i guess. I think it's definitely the near-ME jumps after running which has caused these breakdowns.. I mean I did that light jump sessions where I ran, then performed ~120 light jumps, then ran back.. and felt fine the next day. Once I really pushed it on a few jumps, the next day I was wrecked.

I don't like these aches/soreness so, not going to push through it.

On my right foot, most of the soreness is where I had a huge thorn go through my vibram and into my foot (about a year ago).. wondering if that's what is actually messed up.

Once I heal up, i'd like to get 3 days in a row of run + jump.

Is this good info on broad jump? And can someone explain to me how getting better at these bounds variations will make me a better athlete?

ya it's decent.. it touches on most of the key points. arm swing is definitely important. We used to do lots of heavy med ball throws in addition to all of the strength/plyo work, really helped. And as they say, 'practice ...'.. you can improve your broad jump with skill training alone, so putting in the reps helps.

as for how standing broad jump will make you a better athlete?? dno, it'll help to teach you how to generate power just like a VJ will, via hip & shoulder power, rate of force generation etc. It won't really do anything magical though for athleticism.

if people weren't preparing for some kind of combine/tests, i'd use broad jump more as a measure of how training was improving overall power. I wouldn't have people perform broad jumps often at all. Actually I never had people do max effort broad jumps. We'd also be jumping over a hurdle for example, so that landings weren't deep and exaggerated. ME broad jumps can actually be VERY intense, especially when people sacrifice some form in order to attempt to get a few more inches.

Instead, I just used it as a measurement when testing every X weeks. I'd expect it (and VJ) to improve without specifically focusing on it as a skill.

We'd perform tons of movements similar to broad jumps, but not actual broad jumps, ie; hurdle jumps, multi response hurdle jumps, med ball throws with a broad jump, other forms of throws/plate swings etc.

Imagine if he hadn't sat the 4th! But that was an exciting finish to the reg season  :D

ya.. his stats are even more impressive considering how many 4th's he sat out.

Do you think his output benefits from knowing he has to play at an etherworldly level for 3 quarters not 4? Or would he perform better if given the chance to play more minutes. I read that MJ played 40 games at 40 mins in their 72-10 season .. curry played 4 (from memory).

good point.. I imagine it could be more of a benefit. The biggest benefit is less chance of injury IMHO. Regardless though, I think if he played more minutes he'd just rack up more stats. He's just too accurate.

GSW was looking a bit run down towards the end of the season.. but the last two games they looked great. So i'm not sure if they just got over some mental hump or what.. But they look really strong going into the playoffs.

man.. what a great way to finish off the 2015-2016 regular season.

Curry gets 46 by the third quarter. Curry hits 400 3-pointers in a season. Curry averages 30 ppg & 50% shooting for a season, first time since 1991 (MJ).

GSW gets 73-9.

Then Kobe hits 60 in his final game. Sure he chucked up 50+ shots but who gives AF.. was so fun to watch.
