I'm not sure if it was the 4 hour basketball session or going back to work this week, but I haven't felt much energy to train. I was supposed to train yesterday, but ended up just going straight home after working and watching Netflix (Travelers).

Trained today though.

Pick up basketball-
Played for 4 hours and also did around a dozen one handed dunks. I should have done more dunks at the start when my body was fresh. After playing pick up it's hard to jump at maximum height and being on concrete my left knee was feeling a bit sore.

Sounds like you had a great holiday!

I suffered the same broscience fear of cardio as well when I first started lifting weights. Like you I was really skinny and believed all the dogma, which in hindsight was terrible for my rugby.

I did the sprints before I went to the gym. Usually I go to the gym and than do sprints so my energy was not 100% for the gym, but the sprints felt faster, which was good.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to everyone reading my journal!

The last week I haven't trained as I've been enjoying the holidays and had my girlfriends sister and family over from Brisbane so been busy entertaining/drinking. It's been good. I've got a couple of weeks break from work so been making the most of it. Probably put on about 2kg/5lbs from all the alcohol and food I've been enjoying, but there's always 2017 to get back into training and good habits.

Same to you! Yeah I've also been slacking off a bit training and diet wise but all the delicious food was well worth it. I wish you and everyone a successful training year 2017... let's hope we can all stay injury free (probably not though ...  :'( )

Injuries suck so hopefully with hard/smart training we can both make gains without succumbing to injury.

seems like you're having fun with friends & fam, that's worth more a few weeks of training.
