Basketball / Re: The Dunk King - coming May 18 on TNT
« on: May 25, 2016, 02:12:18 am »
^Agreed. Porter has dumb bounce but cmon man....same dunk not to mention Shaq ducked a bit.

I gotta give it to Jordan.  Dobbs fire dunk is...eh. Guy missed. Jordan not only had a higher degree of difficulty but he (and dobbs) hit theirs on the first try...

maybe if Dobbs BTL'd or something difficult over the guy on fire.. he just did a simple dunk.. gimmick = bleh.

ya.. i dno why i get excited about contests like this.. i'm always let down. The judging ALWAYS sucks.

i got really annoyed when southerland defeated g-smith.. g-smith did BTL off glass and a nasty slingshot.. southerland just did simple dunks while jumping over motorcycles. bleh.

stopped being AS interested when I realized how lame the judging was. I like how the NBA Sprite slam showdown stuff was judged.. Myree + Darryl Dawkins + Los -> those guys could judge... but that's rare, I mean they actually understand dunk competitions.

whatever.. some great dunks in the series for sure.

7. rest (0.3 mi) was at 13:01 min/mi pace.. nice.

- walked faster while studying
- actually did SOME studying during my PR walk.. had I just focused 100% on walking, I might have finally broke 13min/mi walking, which would have meant I would have hit 5 mph walking.. but my max was 4.9 mph!! :(

it's such an amazing feeling when you're done walking that hard.. ie, when you get home.. your legs feel so powerful. just walking around cooling down, it's hard to go slow. it's interesting.

wasn't expecting a PR today walking.. felt ok though.. when I started walking HARD, my hips/legs/calves felt very explosive.

legs/back feel a bit tight right now.. walking hard is intense.

tomorrow i'll probably do my mile sprint.. right calf is still a bit dead but, by tomorrow, should be alot better I predict.

got tons of programming done.. lots of the programming i'm doing now, i'm actually utilizing while I walk, ie the studying stuff & also playing around with the forum interaction on the app.

Armageddon btw andrew :) His whatchamacallit dunk

ahh ya.. it's kind of "gimmick-ish" and i'm not a fan of gimmick-dunks.. but that dunk is an exception. i love it.

disappointed in how the last episode went.. props to maberry but he did the "same dunk" several times.. just jumped over people of different heights etc. impressive but not anywhere near the creativity of dobbs/jordan/guy.

jordan kilganon to me is the best.. he's got so much up his sleeve.. so much creativity. dude does dunks no one is doing.

man o man.. so many unforced turnovers for GSW.

the biggest shock to me is just basic defense/hustle.. wtf are players wining about instead of getting back on defense? it's insane.. coaches need to start benching players who don't run back immediately.

^^ the nba is littered with that.. but man is it killing GSW.

props to OKC, they are punching GSW directly in the mouth.

Adarq, any recommendations to help prevent my feet from getting a Lil fucked up from the rubs such as blisters and what not?  I don't have any yet but it's sore and Idk if there's any runners thing I can buy to help avoid it or just double up on socks.

Correction: I do have blisters below my toe and on the inside .

you need special (non friction) socks.. they have ones that'll do the jobs @ Dicks, got my first pair there. They helped IMMEDIATELY. Best ones i've gotten so far though were from New Balance, which reminds me I need to get another pair.

for example, that walk where I set multiple pr's etc.. my toes were on fire at the end. I used socks I used to dunk in, dri-fit jordan crew socks.. toes were on the verge of getting destroyed. Last few walks i've used my proper running socks (my NB socks) and my toes are fine.

non-friction is the key.. get some ASAP! I would have never destroyed my toenails if I had been wearing those from the start.

pc!

I forget which ones I have (low cut, no-show hydrotech i think), but I got them from here: http://www.newbalance.com/men/accessories/socks-1/
- they were ~12.99 for one pair.. but 100% worth it.

damn nice @ the 1-step PR!

always sucks though to PR something "that fundamental" and not get anything else in the session.

Adarq, you try his breathing for long distance? in in out out with the foot strikes?

When I'm concentrating I try to go for breathe in for 2 and out for 2, but that lasts for about 30 seconds and i go back to crap.

ill check it out tmw. i imagine i just do some of that stuff naturally but i dno..

well if crap allows you to carry on a higher pace then maybe it's not so crap... but if your pace dies and your breathing dies then ya, wrecked.

What the hell has happened to CLE??? Is home court advantage that big for these guys?

WTF?

it's not only that CLE couldn't hit threes.. it's more-so that TOR hit tons of big shots.

The 4th quarter for CLE is problematic.. how do you go 11/11 mostly in the paint, then start chucking up garbage threes? I don't understand it.

Hey Kevin Love.. STOP SHOOTING. get to the basket.

I'm glad TOR is making this a series though.. great stuff.. i'm pulling for toronto :) (undoubtable).. just hard for me not to root for underdogs.  :ninja: Derozan is just ballin`. And Bizmack is a difference maker; he doesn't get discouraged, he just keeps hustling/working/scrapping.. props to TOR.

also... Draymond not getting suspended is mind blowing..  :o

have you ever tried breathing on a step count? when i was running i would count steps for in-breath and out-breath and try to maintain the slowest rhythm i could, or pick up the pace until i couldn't anymore and then maintain the new rhythm. just a way of moderation. e.g. "in-two-three-out-two-three-four-in-two-three-out-two-three-four". and focus on breathing through both mouth and nose.

ya, it's something i tend to do naturally.. i don't know what i actually do but i end up doing in-in-in-out sometimes (i think). though, if i'm 'over exerting' i think i just take big breathes in and out (instead of rhythm).

g-smith's btl off glass was nice.

kilganon's first dunk was one of my favorites.. you don't see anyone 180'ing OVER someone.

got my kindle working with the app i'm building.. which is great, considering it's a 1st generation kindle paperwhite.. the fact that my single page app (purescript -> javascript) works so well/fast on it, is awesome.. only had one issue, which was how it interpreted Date strings. Fixed that & boom.
