STATS   MIN   FG%   REB   AST   BLK   STL   PF   PTS
This Game   40   .538   11   6   2   1   2   32

LEBRONSTER (lol).

Curry really needs to clean up his turnovers.. in this series alone (first 3 games): 6, 4, 5 .. that's BAD for a PG.

^cool website. i enjoyed reading this one

http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/bad-news-cavs-fans-the-warriors-dont-care-how-good-your-team-is/

from that article:

Quote
But better news for the Cavs is that the Warriors haven’t really kept this phenomenon going in the playoffs.

yup... i'm honestly shocked that GSW got beaten as bad as they did.. I thought it would be much closer. Steph is having a really bad series right now.

They had Shumpert face guarding him the entire length of the court -> THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT. I absolutely loved seeing that. *TRY* and lock him down the entire length of the court.. this is something you might see in college or h.s. bball. When you can't contain a guy, you try and face guard him the entire length of the floor, with various (more athletic) defenders to keep them fresh. That's just rugged, aggressive defense.

The absence of Love might also help, but like I said in an earlier post, more-so on the road. At home he can be lights-out.. on the road however, he can be a brickhouse. I liked seeing Jefferson in there for the overall energy/aggressiveness.

Cavs looked good tonight.. but GSW looked bad. The real test will be, who wins when both teams are firing on all cylinders.. hope we see that before the playoffs are over.

Finally.. monstrous Lebron dunks can lead to series victories. I'd like to see someone (538) drop some stats on that. Every series I remember where Lebron ended up doing some extra crazy dunk, ie, vs Boston while on CLE & MIA, he ends up on the winning end.

has there ever been a playoffs with this many blowouts by the team that ended up losing the series?

i'm waiting for the fivethirtyeight breakdown once the finals are over:

damn, lean as fuck

ya seriously..

the pic itself is really sick.. the leanness+athleticism almost makes it look like some professional physique model fitness photo.

shredded.

now scoob just make sure you are listening to your body. if your knee is hurting, don't blindly brute force your way through it.. there's no awards for training through pain or making things worse. So just listen to your body more, in order to become more consistent by being healthier, which will allow you to go harder each workout.

also, please practice some self lobs at the end of each jump session.. you don't even need to try and dunk the ball.. if you just practiced the lob, run up, grab it in the air and try to lay it up (or just literally grab it and that's it, or hit the ball and the rim), you'll get better at self lobbing. If you eventually want to land some nasty run-up dunks with maximum vertical jump, you should SLOWLY try to acquire this skill.. Even if it's only 2-5 reps.

lots of people want to dunk, but don't practice lobbing.. that's fine, especially if your goal is to only dunk off of a dribble. but lobbing is one of the most fun ways to dunk because you can use your maximal running vert (and even get a little higher than usual) by chasing the ball in the air.

i'll give you an example.. I want to be able to run-up from half court or further on my single leg jumping. I want to be able to generate serious speed and just launch. I couldn't even do a weak jump initially, when I ran out from that far. My steps would get messed up, i'd feel hesitant, it's scary, i'd abort etc.. But in most of my SLRVJ sessions i've been practicing it slowly.. very slow runups + very light jump, faster runups + light jump, maximum speed runup + extremely light jump.. I've made alot of progress over the months. It's definitely not something I could do right from the start; i've just been slowly chipping away at it. And i'm not at max-speed runup + maximum effort jump yet, not even close.. but i'm getting there. So, point being, even though it felt so weird & impossible in the beginning, I know it's something that will eventually help me, if I can handle that kind of speed + jumping with maximum effort. So slowly chipping away at something like that may take a while, but after several months (or who knows how long), we'll eventually get it & reap the rewards.

Sure the team they built during these two years doesn't seem like the best built team to win titles. It's still a damn good team, and no I don't think ANY team plus Lebron makes it out the east.  But Lebron has not always had this much influence and he spent almost a decade as young Lebron on the Cavs when he obviously had far less influence over decisions and they were HORRIBLE at putting together a good team.  The 2007 team he led to the finals was probably the worst supporting cast ever to make it to the finals.

So, the point is that maybe Lebron the GM isn't the best GM in the league.  But he sure seems as good or better than the management the Cavs actually have.  In Miami he certainly had a role in the team building but the competent management of Pat Riley who listened to him to some degree was clearly better at putting a team together and they won titles.   You can't be mad at Lebron for having too much influence putting together a team that isn't quite good enough unless you compare the alternative... From what we know the alternative (Cavs management) is pretty terrible.  A lot of your posts are filled with assumptions that sorry to say I think come from a weird place of anger for Lebron for being disobedient...  Do you know what plans were or exactly what as said?  For all we know Dan Gilbert planned to trade Kyrie Irving and Andrew Wiggins for Carmelo Anthony to make the unstoppable punch of Lebron and Melo... Then Lebron came and said "uhhhh hold on DG... Let's think of an alternative".  If that's the case then Lebron deserves credit rather than scorn.  Of course we don't know what the case is so why don't we stick to giving management credit or blame for the decisions that are ultimately there's and judge Lebron by what he does with the team they put around him?

This is such a good point.. Prior to Lebron leaving, that org could not put a team together to save their life. They relied on their luck to be able to pick Lebron in the first place, then squandered year after year putting everything on his back.. and yet Lebron still managed to get them to the finals vs the Dynasty-Spurs. Meanwhile at basically the same time, the Spurs built a Juggernaut behind Duncan. Lebron's early years are him putting literally everything on his own shoulders. Needless to say, that's alot to ask of some phenom coming right out of h.s..

If Lebron really is the "undercover-boss" (GM) for Cleveland, then man-o-man he's done a solid job so far. How many first year GM's or coaches, get to the finals two straight years?  :ninja: In fact, if what some people say about Lebron is true, i'd like to see him eventually get MVP, a title, coach of the year, and GM of the year all in one season... beast.

This is the 2nd week of the so call AFTER EXAM intensive routine.
I consider this as LEANING OUT with Strength Phase.
so I am Aiming to Get stronger while getting lighter.  (meaning lifting heavier and eating cleaner)
Last week was good, I manage to complete all the planned session. and I had been adding weight to my 5x5 squat for 2 constitutive session (10lb each).

Sprinting in HIIT is painless now, no more Core Oblique or Foot pain.. so i am getting better.

nice!!

scoob,

if you were to introspect your training + performance over the years, what would you say has worked and has not worked for you?

ie:

what type of training/schedule has gotten you to your highest vertical jump?

what type of training/schedule has not resulted in much improvement at all? or even worse, caused you to get worse?

you are great at taking advice from others; coaches, peers etc.. but you often combine lots of different ideas/suggestions at once, which can occasionally result in chaos. forget everyone for a second and, if you could, just take some time to look back on what has worked best for you & what hasn't worked well.

I Plant Left right when i Jump, and i think my Left is stronger than right which might also mean my left foot is shorter than my right.

Recently, i am experienced some dull pain on top of my right knee.
(I usually have soreness on my left knee, where I load up on jump and squat usually.  My left knee Click when i extend it, which i pretty much got use to already)

But now, is my Right, which sort of scare me, as it is something new.the pain is on top of my knee, I usually have pain below the knee ... so this is new to me again.  new pain on new leg... is scary to me.

When i extend my right leg, it is no longer smooth, some minor clicking appear, but that is not my main concern, it is that Dull stiff soreness that prevent my knee from moving.

First thing when i wake up, my knee is sore, which disappear soon after.  But i am having soreness when every i Bend my knee, such as sitting ATG.
I have to sit down SLOW when i want to do this stretch due to the stiffness and soreness..

I am icing my knee in the office now..and eating glosamine right away
this shxt is scary
I tend to feel the slight soreness during slow down phase of my 100M sprint also...

how short is the deceleration phase of your 100m sprints? slowing down too quick will put alot of stress on the quads/hamstrings/knee.

i'd definitely keep icing it. a few times per day for ~15 minutes.

how long has this been happening? if it's brand new, you might unfortunately want to pause your routine a bit to see if it recovers. If it's been happening for a while, that's more of a judgement call because it's already a nagging issue. Adding more rest to your routine usually helps.. but like I said above, if you're decelerating too fast, that could be stressing your knee bigtime; then combine that with jumps/squats etc, and now you're constantly bugging it.

when people have issues like that and tend to work through them, a very good warmup is essential.. you don't want to squat/jump/sprint unless you've warmed up very good, to the point where squatting down etc results in much less discomfort.
