Well, we lost in the second round. Correction, we got annihilated.  137-106. Yea it hurt. They hit us in the mouth to open the game and it was 18-0 before we knew what happened. We battled back to 40-35 but they went on another run just before halftime and it was 64-44 at the break. I told the guys we weren't going down like this so I came out and hit 4 consecutive 3s to open the second half and we were down 70-56 but they we're just to big. Their front line went 6'7", 6'5", 6'2". Ughh. Our tallest guy was only 6 foot even lol! Other than scoring a metric fuck ton of points in the second the only decent almost highlight was when I jumped over their bigs for a putback attempt. My trex hands lost the handle and I back ironed it but not before someone in the stands yelled 'oh SHIT' lol! So...seasons over. Didn't end like I wanted but it is what it is. Depending on when the next league starts I may play, I need to get some dedicated weight room time first though and get healed up 100%.

That said....

BW: 180-182lbs.
Energy/Motivation: Through the roof. Glad to be back hitting the weights.

Dynamic warmups and some jumps

Deadlifts:
(Warmup) 135×5, 225×5, 275×1, 325×1
(Work set) 275×5, 275×5, 275×5, 225×8.

Hangclean:
95×3, 135×3, 155×1, 155×1. I don't like my catch point on the 155s, it feels like im slightly knees in. Will have to vid and see. Good start though.

Was planning on doing an assistance circuit but only got one set of ham curls and a set of seated calf raises (definitely hits a different spot than my normal calf raises!!! Weak af on these! Time to remedy that...) before I had to leave. Had to take the lady to the hospital,  apparently she has a form of blood poisoning from a cut on her foot. So I did some ab work at the hospital lol! Hoping we can go home tonight or in the morning as shes on some strong antibiotics.

Also, planning on splitting workouts into 4 sessions: deadlifts and assistance (fri?),  back/bi's(tues), chest/tri's (thurs) and squats/assistance lifts (mon?). Will sprinkle core workout throughout each exercise and probably get some bball skills work in 2-3x a week. Thats the plan for the forseeable future at least (August-ish).

Wow. Big update lol

Idk. I just don't like feet. I guess they aren't aesthetically pleasing to me? Its not that I can't be around them or demand people put socks on lol

That was....beautiful. Always a pleasure to watch Spurs basketball!

Lmaoooo! Actually....I hate feet. Im always in socks, preferably shoes as well. I was typing that while wrenching on the 'race car' (was de-pinning connectors on the ECU patch harness and fabbing the tubular subframe braces last night after the game, great way to unwind) and I've always referred to the car as a her, guess it my frame of mind bahahahaha!

As for the foot, it seems ok? Minor swelling that's mostly gone this morning.  I have full ROM but it's popping a lot now. No pain, just constantly popping. Weird.

Had our first game of the playoffs....won. :) Ended up winning by 17 but we got lazy late. We were up 24 with 7 mins left and we stopped closing out on their shooters and they made a little run. They had it down to 11 with 2:30 left when we called timout and regrouped. I had 9 of our last 14 points along with 2 blocks in that last 2:30 so that felt good. The team played exceptional tonight, great screens/cuts and passing led to a ton of layups. I stepped on someones foot rebounding in the first half and heard a little pop in my foot. Only hurts when I plant in it north/south really hard. Ive iced it and took an ibuprofen so we'll see how she reacts. If I have to I'll tape it for Thursdays game but I hate tape. Limits ROM too badly.

Had another light ish lifting session this morning. Basically just trying to get my body used to lifting again and ready for the real work to come in a few weeks. Did manage to deadlift 325lbs with a little struggle. So that's minor progress.

:/ I love basketball and the NBA has elite athletes but their combine is a joke. Basketball isnt a game that can be determined in the weight room. Its soooo skill dominated.  That said yea...id bet some of those guys could benefit from a hard off season in the weight room but only if it doesn't diminish their skill set. Nit so easily done. I like looking at the skill position numbers from the NFL combine. Those guys are explosive. Train like them and you will see gains. Its just hard to do that and have the gas/recovery for a skills workout as well. :(

That said...no ones going to progress very far doing anything 1x a week. Also, it may not be that your body is doing it wrong but rather you're training it wrong? Just my .02

Shot around for an hour today, not a real workout just getting some blood going. Stretched and iced afterward definitely ready to lift in the am.

Basketball / Re: A WHOLE BUNCH OF DUNKS AND SHIT.

Yea, Jordan seems to be pushing boundaries where most every one else has settled on doing the same dunks more or less.

I swear Darlington looks like he's jumping higher now...that's just insane. I'd be curious what a ME jump looked like now for him.

I only watched the first minute and had to take a breather. BRB.  :motherofgod:

Had our last game before the tourney starts tonight, won 104-103. Hell of a game. I played pretty well except for a 3 minute stretch where I just wasn't in it for some reason. Made a turnover and forced a couple bad shots. Well, not necessarily bad but I should have worked for a better one. Oh well. I got the ball with 15 seconds left down 1 and drove baseline, lost the defender on the stepback (id been going around him all game so he was way out of position trying to anticipate my layup attempt) and smoothly missed the damn 10 footer. Rolled around and dropped out. Our big and their guy were battling for position and it was tipped towards the baseline where my defender tried to grab it but he slipped. I managed to simultaneously rip the ball from him and flip it towards my center who hit the layup to put us up with 3 seconds left. Im still pissed I missed but that anger helped I guess because I straight up took the ball away from the guy lol! Winnings winning but I really wanted to hit that lol! Anyway great end to the 'regular season'!

Dear lord. Dude is a monster for an incoming freshman. 10 sec 100 times at 216lbs and that vert. Ughhh. Few years of SEC weight room and its going to be interesting.

Its crazy. I mean, I remember when he was starting out, he had some talent but his progression is retarded. Its almost exponential instead of linear lol
