Rugby League Trial Game-
I played in the trial game last night and we had tonnes of players so we ended up having 2 teams with 10 subs on both benches. On Wednesday night the coach said the trial game was going to be the A team (1st Grade) v the B team (Reserves) but on the night he ended up making it Evens. As far as the game went it was an event contest I don't think anybody really kept scores but I was happy with my own performance. I made some good hit ups and about a dozen tackles and scored a 60m try and got named in the 1st Grade team for our first game on the 9th of April  ;D

Rugby League-
90 minutes of training. We've got an internal trial game on tomorrow night, which will be used to pick the 1st Grade and Reserve Grade teams. The coach said the teams are subject to change throughout the season though based on form so they are far from set in cement. I still want to be selected for the 1st Grade team but realistically I missed the first 10 weeks of pre-season training and I've never played a game of rugby league before so I won't be too disappointed if I start in reserves, but I definitely want to make my way up to the 1st Grade team this season and solidify my position either at Fullback or on one of the Wings.

Yikes, glad this thing is winding down, im ready for a change up. I miss being able to run and jump well, which is impossible on these diets.

feel suicidal today.. fk this shit, better be worth it by the end :(

That's not good!

The usual advice is for skinnyfat people to clean bulk as muscle helps burn calories. As the late ZYZZ said 'abs on a skinny person are the same as big tits on a fat chick- they don't count'. The dieting is probably fucking up your metabolism as well. I'm preaching to the choir here but you should start a clean bulk with a moderately high protein intake and add some more volume into your lifting. At the moment your going backwards. Your athleticism is suffering, your strength has plunged, and you could well drop down to 70kg and still not be lean enough to meet your satisfaction. Surely you wouldn't want to drop down below 70kg (154lbs) at 6'3!!!

Friday-

League training. Went well. Went through some offensive structures and some plays. Also had a 30 minute team run at the end.

Sunday.

League training. Just spent the training doing skills and running lines. We had a few 60m sprints at the end with a couple of the boyz who stayed on after training. It was pretty close between me and Huddz but I think I just got him on the line.
He's got some speed.

Here's the video of our 60m race.

I might go to the gym tonight we'll see.

Rugby training-
I probably had my last rugby training session for a while since I don't think the coaches would be too keen on me coming out and training when I'm not playing union this year. I didn't have a very good session anyway and sprained my finger when I was catching bombs. We worked on some offensive structures and that pretty much just reiterated the reason I'm leaving- it was terrible. I'm happy to get my own ball but it's frustrating when you've got overlaps and people can't even string a few passes together without dropping the ball or throwing the ball behind the player :uhhhfacepalm: It's a pretty simple game you get your backs to have depth so they can run onto the ball with pace so you throw it out in front of them so they can run onto it...you can't run cuts and cutout passes and structures when people can't even get the basic through the hands right.

I'm not really looking forward to telling the coaches and the other players that I'm playing league this year. I wish I had a good excuse, such as work commitments but I can't get away with that because I never work Saturdays. I told a couple of people that I was playing league and they said I should play union on Saturdays (league is on Sundays) but my body isn't durable enough. Plus I know I'd just end up getting pissed with the boys after the game on Saturdays so it wouldn't work out. I'm not going to dwell on it too much and when the conversation comes I'll just be honest and say I've been thinking of playing league for a while and want to try something different.

two months to prepare, after all that foundation you've been laying? run the mile, shoot for 4:30.

:ibrunning: :ibrunning: :ibrunning: :ibrunning: :ibrunning: :ibrunning: :ibrunning:

unfortunately i think i'm nowhere near 4:30 right now.. 4:55 - 5:05 MAYBE. But I haven't run over 0.45 mi non-stop in like 2 months. So no idea where i'm at. Today with crappy legs I ran 0.33 mi @ 4:54, which is ok considering i've been sick and my legs felt dead.. but stretching these speeds out to a mile right now seems like it will be rough.

but ya, i'm thinking 800m or mile. Once I get healthy again, I need to start (low frequency) trying to extend out the speed i've been working on lately. Running with glasses made that very difficult, but now i'm back to no-glasses because I can read my phone fine.. Breathing feels alot tougher with my glasses on.

pC!

Since you haven't ran over 0.45 miles for 2 months I'd go with the 800m. Get fresh for it and smash a  :personal-record:

Can players still head to the NBA as soon as they finish high school?

http://www.espn.com.au/nba/story/_/id/18323683/terrance-ferguson-nba-draft-stock-rising-strong-showings-adelaide-36ers

I went to a couple of games this year and saw this guy play live and also warm up before the games. He didn't play a lot of minutes and the offence wasn't set up around him so if you look at his stats they weren't that impressive.  Nevertheless he was deadly from the 3 point line. In warm ups he hits the 3 automatically and barely ever misses. He's also got great hops!

Game

Notes:
Haven't been lifting thursdays but i thought i should try squatting heavy just to see. I reckon if I wasnt fasted i cud prob have got that 125kg tbh.
game was ... awful. we played down to the opponent, ended with the lead for the first time in the last coupla seconds and of course we couldnt hold on to the ball and they drew the match. lmfao. i didnt get involved in the offense as much which didn't really motivate me much but i still dont think i played well.

Why not?
Were you in the wrong positions to receive it or were you not demanding it?

I get the lifting though. I try and avoid eating on an empty stomach. The only thing worse then eating on an empty stomach is lifting after you've eaten too much and don't have the time to digest.

Training felt soo good tonight after resting my achilles for the past couple of days. Took some painkillers before training and apart from a slight twinge warming up I didn't feel it all night. I felt really fast and powerful tonight :ibrunning:

Pull ups feel harder than chin ups to me. I think it works slightly different muscles as well. Pull ups are more back/lats while with the chin ups it feels like the arms do more work than the lats. Both are good exercises though.
