adarq is there any way to get a word count for a journal? i'm curious how long this thing really is.

yea can probably just run a query & then do some simple sanitization on it. it'd probably be a bit skewed because of quoting etc. if it was my own code that wouldn't be a problem, but it's still this open source stuff :<

will try to get that for u today or tmw.

200211  Flu Out break Hit Hong Kong,  I am still around.

This may possibly the longest time i had not update my training log.
After over 6 months of political struggle, the whole city turned up side down and it is no longer what it used to be.

Just when u thought, the protest die down and lost.... China Flu outbreak hit us.
And just like before. The local gov refuse to protect it citizen.
Clearly Leader in China is in control of all decision locally.  So simply said, we are fucked.

Enough of the background of while i had not update my training log.

I had stopped all outdoor training and stopped heading to public gym.
Lucky to me.. few months ago.. I sent up a some lifting stuff in my office, and now, at least i have my private Rack and barbell... to keep me moving.

I continue to squat, hang clean, TRX and stretch an hour per day randomly.

not like i am going to jump outside any time soon.

Out break is getting worse day by day.

damn dude that is not good. i've been monitoring the numbers daily, doesn't seem to be slowing down any. really hope they can figure it out but no idea, scary af.

stay safe over there man.

another crank sesh with the pups. they run better when we are heading home. if we're nowhere near home, they try to hold back.. well, gizmo does more-so, because he'd rather be sniffing things. james loves to run. they still run good but, when we're heading home, they crank it up hard and can sustain 13-14 mph for 400m or so. lol.

4 hour dog walk w/ some runs mixed in. a good mile w/ the pups in there towards the end. they are in such good shape. they are knocked out right now tho.. :ninja:

two huge bull mastiffs came out of someone's yard and started sniffing james. i picked up gizmo immediately -> because he snaps. last thing i want is him snapping at a dog like that. james is good tho because he's more submissive, so he just cowers while they sniff him. glad that they were nice dogs. kinda scary tho. that's the only problem with having such small dogs, worry about them too much. one day maybe i'll get some ridgebacks, but i guess then you have to worry about them not hurting a smaller dog. can't win. at least i wouldn't worry about them getting crushed tho. i do have my knife on me just in case. 8|

Damn! Bull mastiffs are huge!

yea, enormous.

they are over 100 lb. my dogs are 9lb & 15 lb. just no comparison lmao.

There's one near my place that's behind a rickety wire fence and it goes nuts everytime I walk my dog past. Makes me nervous AF.

daaamn yea i know the feeling. makes me nervous too.

Quote
Ridgebacks are a great dog though. Still pretty huge.

yea, very tame but absolutely lethal if they need to protect you. incredibly athletic too.

I used to have an Akita when I was growing up.

i got attacked by an akita as a kid, i hate those dogs. they have a bad rep for a reason 8|

He was about 60kgs but an absolute softie. Best thing about big dogs is no one ever bothers you when you're walking them. Mine now is only about 35kgs but he's quite tall and people cross the road to avoid us lol.

haha nice.

your dog looks really friendly tho. (not a scary dog).

i'm probably close to "two weeks" worth of home grown ingredients for my stir frys.. ie, not having to buy more peppers because I grew my own. that's pretty cool.

the ones i just picked today is basically 2 days worth. I have a green bell pepper that's almost ready too.. need to pick it before stuff starts eating it. Also have a red bell pepper growing finally.

going to go get more dirt today, to plant some more pepper plants.

this week: scotch bonnett, jalapeno, serrano, yellow, cherry pepper, habanero.

the finish to duke / NC was absolutely nuts. Tre Jones with one of the best missed FT's ever, to then get his own miss and drain it to go to OT.

OT was also nuts.

crazy game.

if any of you remember that incident with my boss's brother & the coach, the coach was found guilty recently:

https://www.pix11.com/news/local-news/queens/former-wake-forest-coach-cries-on-witness-stand-in-queens-one-punch-death-case

boss & his fam finally got some justice.

sentencing is in a month or so.

oh also just to be clear:

we have like 8 other co-workers, a very solid team, love my co-workers. we don't expect them to put in extra hours, nor do we ask them. so they have a normal work-life balance. one guy puts in some extra, our data analyst, really cool dude, loves diving in to the numbers. but other than that, most people put in ~40-45 a week or so.

feels gr8 to build something from the ground up; just like building athleticism from the ground up etc.

158 hours last pay period, lmfao. 8| :ffffffuuuuuu: :ninja:

Damn. Is this by choice or is it a particularly busy period?

both. lool.

Quote
Are you planning to keep this up? 158hr week is nuts. Is it from home??

nah def not planning to keep up 150+ .. 120+ is definitely the norm now tho. i'd like to keep it below 130 (under 120 could be realistic). eventually getting it to ~80 would be nice, but i lead development at this startup i've been w/ for ~3 years, so I have alot on my plate. I enjoy nearly every minute of it tho lool. One reason I put in so many extra hours is, it's basically what my boss (CEO) and I do to keep this thing growing. If I was alone in the effort, I wouldn't do it. But my boss is a top notch crank master, so it feels great going to "battle" with him. It's a good combo, because he's the business/product/ceo guy, and i'm the engineer/architect guy, and we both can go non-stop all day if we have to lmfao. :ninja: :ninja: :ninja:

and nah, it's split between home & office. i wakeup, play with pups/water plants, go to the office and work 7-8 hours, come home, walk pups (1-2 hr)/eat, then get back to coding and eventually pass out. repeat 8|

pc man!!
