Put on some cleats, ran some sprints with the dog. Chased her around doing some lateral agility stuff too. I gotta do this more. A few max effort daily sprints will add up.

nice! that is probably the most fun training.. awesome.

i used to do that with "gizmo" (my 9 lb. silky terrier), back when I was near peak performance. That little dog ended up becoming too fast for me. So fast that I had to stop, because he'd keep trying to mess with me by trying to run outside of the park/area we were in, and get to the street.. so it just became too dangerous.

so funny though that some 9 lb. little dog eventually destroyed me on agility etc.. fwiw though, he's abnormally impressive (athletically) for his breed.

still not asleep. been stuck on some code for literally 4 hours.. really annoyed.

anyway, just to get it working, I did some crazy hacky shit. this is one of the ugliest blocks of code i've ever written.

Code: [Select]
    -- welcome to the inferno
    --
    -- This is what you call, the definition of a massive hackjob.
    --
    -- It's nearly 7 AM and I still can't figure this out..

           (do
              segment "f"
              (do
                 forum_sid <- notCRUDstr1 -- OrganizationsForums
                 (do
                    board_sid <- notCRUDstr1 -- OrganizationsForumsBoards
                    (do
                       thread_sid <- notCRUDstr1 -- OrganizationsForumsBoardsThreads
                       fromPathSegments >>= \k -> if k == Index then (OrganizationsForumsBoardsThreads <$> pure org_sid <*> pure forum_sid
<*> pure board_sid <*> pure (ShowS thread_sid)) else (OrganizationsForumsBoardsThreadsPosts <$> pure org_sid <*> pure forum_sid <*> pure
board_sid <*> pure thread_sid <*> pure k))     <|>     (fromPathSegments >>= \k -> if k == Index then (OrganizationsForumsBoards <$> pure
org_sid <*> pure forum_sid <*> pure (ShowS board_sid)) else (OrganizationsForumsBoardsThreads <$> pure org_sid <*> pure forum_sid <*> pure
board_sid <*> pure k))) <|> (fromPathSegments >>= \k -> if k == Index then (OrganizationsForums <$> pure org_sid <*> pure (ShowS
forum_sid)) else OrganizationsForumsBoards <$> pure org_sid <*> pure forum_sid <*> pure k)) <|> OrganizationsForums <$> pure org_sid <*>

Boxing / 07/30/2016: Cruz vs Frampton -> WAR
« on: July 30, 2016, 11:45:05 pm »
what a fight.. holy shit.

they haven't read the decision yet .. this fight is a toss up.

totally worth watching. great fight. so impressed with frampton, didn't think he'd be able to hold up to cruz's pressure.

He is one of my all time favourites for sure. What struck me about watching him play was the way he moved and covered the court and then to be able to explode. I can't remember him ever getting credit as a great athlete though.

On a side note I picked up a pair of the Reebok Answer 1's for $5 from a foot locker that was closing down about 2 years ago. Played in them once and they felt heavy and clunky so shelved them. Played in them again last week as my hyperdunks well and truly have no cushioning left and they were solid. Have a feeling they will break in to be a great shoe.

nice!

cool url, shows the shoe and him playing in it:

I had the Reebok Question, and the Reebok Answer VII:

i remember loving the VII's.

Woke up this morning at 92.7. Damage hasn't been as bad as I thought. Clean eating will easily get me to 90ish in about 2 weeks and then the hard work begins on getting to 87-88. Hit my cal and macro target yesterday and it was a decent amount of food so pretty happy to run with that for the moment.

Also, was watching some old NBA vids last night with Iverson and Ray Allen. Easy to forget just how good of an athlete Iverson was and how balanced he was as a runner and also what Ray used to do at the rim before he parked himself behind the 3pt line.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13YeR5zIGbo" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13YeR5zIGbo</a>

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISwSxZmWM24" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISwSxZmWM24</a>

ya man AI was truly a one man show.. he was incredible to watch.

as far as I can remember, I don't recall anyone ever locking him down... nor a team ever shutting him down. He always found a way to score. He could light it up on the outside, but, he didn't live there.. he could get to the rim every which way. And man his defense was SOLID, so many steals. So fun to watch. I still remember watching him obsessively when he was in college (georgetown).

i think everyone hates mosquitos. but, for my mom they are actually a serious problem. given her condition, if she gets just one bite, it itches nonstop for days.. I'm thinking about getting the area around the house treated with Terminix mosquito service. Has anyone ever done anything like that? Or have some magical solution? :f

I live in south florida so, they are all over the place right now.. and especially with the zika concerns, I need to try something.

If I stand in one spot in my backyard without constantly moving, i'll have like 10 on me.

yeah but after hitting 36 off one with acole everything shorter feels blah.  :derp:

ya for sure. but, i also imagine you weren't as amp'd up on those jumps today.

sounds like tomorrow you should be amp'd up.. that's when it really kicks in.

pc!

- one-step RVJ x 3,3
33-34, pretty good

- DLRVJ x 3,3,3,3
not great at first so switched to submax sets of three. gonna go for PRs tomorrow, will see if i can get a buddy to throw lobs.

nice! getting up pretty good on those 1-steps. should be able to kill it tomorrow.

Yeah looks like if you get a good bounce on the ball you'd be able to get a dunk in.

ya my ball doesn't bounce good at all, but, last night I got some really nice lobs with it.. should have landed ~4 or so of them.

Quote
The heaviest I ever dunked at was 250 with a semi flat ball so I'd start maybe around there.  At 275-280 I dunked 9ft off 1 step a month ago.

ah

nice.. well you're not TOO far from 250.

When jumping, I personally worry more when i'm heavier .. i just feel like it's alot of strain on joints/tendons. I mean i'm very light so that gives you an example of why I would even have those thoughts.

jumps:
- dribbling around/layups for a bit
- didnt know what time this part closes, so I unfortunately rushed it a bit
- good news is, it closes at 10 PM i think
- L-SLRVJ max attempts: ~10 attempts, hit what felt like ~10'10 around jump 6 or so, on a single rim.. ~2" down my wrist. that jump was the one that was all blurry. A few other jumps felt like 10'9, maybe even 10'10, but didn't feel it as good.
- ~12 dunk attempts: got some really close ones.. but pretty much all of the footage is broken because of that blur issue

MR tuck jumps:
- 2 x 50
- tough

Food

11 PM

- big bowl of cheerios with honey + 2% milk
- cherries, blueberries, blackberries
- english muffin with butter

got a TON of programming done today.. been working on some weird "state machine" in ln-ui-core. I want this machine to work not only for ln-ui-reactflux, but, other ui's as well: ln-ui-shell, ln-ui-*. So, been losing my hair trying to figure out how to do that... after 2 days of struggling badly, things turned around tonight. The design is making some sense and it's really cleaning up all of the code.

So i'm very happy with it right now.

I basically want this one file to be responsible for EVERYTHING that goes on between the server and the actual client. So, it is basically the 'core' that sits between them:

https://github.com/adarqui/ln-ui-core/blob/master/src/LN/UI/Core/App.hs

so... all of that crazyness.. basically allows me to keep is crazy simple on the frontend side.. for example, ln-ui-reactflux literally uses this small bit of code to run actions through ln-ui-core:

Code: [Select]
instance StoreData Store where

  type StoreAction Store = Action

  transform (Goto route_with) st = do
    setLocationHash $ Text.unpack $ fromRouteWith route_with
    pure st

  transform action st@Store{..} = do
    (result', st') <- runCore st Start action
    void $ forkIO $ basedOn result' action
    pure st'

    where
    basedOn result_ act_ = case result_ of
      Start              -> pure ()
      Next               -> Dispatcher.dispatch $ SomeStoreAction store (MachNext act_)
      Done               -> pure ()
      Failure            -> pure ()
      Reroute route_with -> Dispatcher.dispatch $ SomeStoreAction store (Goto route_with)

which is pretty sick.. that means, ln-ui-shell will require a similar amount of code as well.. very tiny. There's other pieces of code that i'm using to communicate with ln-ui-core so it's not ONLY that small but .. but man i just reduced the amount of code in future ln-ui-* applications by like 1000% HEHE!!!

pretty coo.

ok next time I will try this with the "optical stabilization" turned off.. I think that may be causing this blur issue. I absolutely hate it.

EDIT: actually it's OFF.. WTF. literally every setting is OFF. wtf do I do?!?!

EDIT #2: I think I figured it out.. I enabled pro mode, then saw another "AF" setting.. which is "auto focus". So I slid it all the way to the right, and it became "manual focus". So I waved my hand in front of the camera, and I didn't see it "pucker/blur". When I re-enabled AF, it puckered. So, i'm going to leave this off next time I take footage. Hope this fixes it.. this blur issue is annoying af (no pun intended).

basically all of my dunk attempts got wrecked with the blur issue.

here's one of my best jumps, blurred to fu*k:

here's two more jumps that luckily didn't blur:
