I liked them. First time ever performing runups from that far. I tried to build speed for the entire runup, but sometimes I had to re-gather myself.

I also didn't attempt to build maximum speed (but speed was decent) or do a max effort jump, so it was probably alot easier because of that. Yes it's that mental barrier/inhibition that I get. Like if I go faster I'll be out of control.
I imagine half court would be enough though. When I get on a fast break and I build speed and go into a layup relaxed I get plenty of height. It's pushing for that extra few inches that's the problem.

not thinking is important.. those amazing in-game jumps that happen out of nowhere ... not thinking.

wish i could turn off my conscious temporarily and just explode. maybe it would be less enjoyable, but, that's what video cameras are for (playing it back .. :)

Seriously i still hate that video so much. A bunch of still frames in a video. I honestly want to see the footage of him hanging onto the rim and falling off/posing. Just sounds so damn dangerous.

whipped my dad, 6-1 (and the 1 was mostly unforced errors). this is as it should be, i'm 35 years younger than he is. it was hot as shit, i have a headache now. similar to one i got a few weeks back after sweating like crazy in the gym earlier in the day. i was vigilant about hydration today, too.

Have you ever had or gotten close to having some sort of heat stroke/exhaustion?  I was extremely close to having it at the academy just from standing in line nut to butt with everyone in a 95 degree building(Prisons aren't air conditioned).  After almost passing out, if I'm in the heat doing anything for a bit I start to get a sick feeling and this is a year or so after and I still get it.

I got some form of heatstroke once (no idea what it really was).. I remember it pretty clear. It was in ~2003 or so, was playing basketball outside during a hot summer day (sunday). After a few games I sat down against the fence and then something hit me, started getting really dizzy & weak.. could barely get up. I was so thirsty but the water fountain was broken. A few dudes went to a vending machine and got me a few sprites. Just sat there drinking them and eventually recovered. Then went home and just slept all day.

nice! that is probably the most fun training.. awesome.

i used to do that with "gizmo" (my 9 lb. silky terrier), back when I was near peak performance. That little dog ended up becoming too fast for me. So fast that I had to stop, because he'd keep trying to mess with me by trying to run outside of the park/area we were in, and get to the street.. so it just became too dangerous.

so funny though that some 9 lb. little dog eventually destroyed me on agility etc.. fwiw though, he's abnormally impressive (athletically) for his breed.

Yeah I have a husky.

nice!! those seem like really loyal/intelligent dogs, from what i've seen at the dog parks.

Session: Evening

8:30 PM

run to court:
- decent, 0.85 mi @ ~6:15 min/mi pace

jumps:
- 50 submax L-SLRVJ, 50 super submax R-SLRVJ
- a large percentage of those L-SLRVJ's were from halfcourt or even further..
- so did some LONG runups
- even did a few full court runups
- I was submax jumping, but still.. good sign that I was able to do so many jumps with such big runups
- mostly "easy" 10'4's
- left hamstring felt it a bit during some of the jumps after longer runups
- tried focusing on staying nice and relaxed but getting off the ground quick
- good session

sprints:
- ~10
- only 1 max effort .. hit ~17.9 mph on this sprint. the very next sprint, both of my hamstrings cramped up.
- had to hut it down

parallel squat:
- 45 lb. @ 2 x 10
- 135 lb. @ 5
- 155 lb. @ 2 x 10

neutral grip pullups: 2 x 5
- felt elbow on this but, imagined i would.. want to see if my elbow hurts ba tmw.. dont think it will. .if i had done dips, it would.

plate swings:
- 45 lb. @ 2 x 10




Food
