It seems manny pacquiao maybe returning and they have chosen jessie vargas as their opponent over terence crawford.

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/aug/04/manny-pacquiao-return-wbo-jessie-vargas-boxing

Might be an intriguing matchup, I would have prob preferred crawford, but maybe jessie's come forward style and mexican style and pacquiao's aggresive style is a better style matchup then crawford.

if pacquiao's fire is not truly gone and jessie vargas still has fire then can we expect a pacquiao vs morales or pacquiao vs barerra style fight, or maybe im hoping too much

dno, i think he can handle vargas pretty easy. he's too quick. crawford's length and power would have been a much bigger challenge, sucks they couldn't make that fight.

i'd still love to see pac/vargas though.. and don't get me wrong, it's not a bad matchup. vargas has been fighting great lately. he absolutely killed sadam ali, that's very impressive... but as far as pac goes, he's on a whole nother` level, imho.

man i love ice cream.. but i actually don't miss it - haven't had it in a while. I think what I don't miss the most about it, is the sugar crash I get from it. I can't eat a small amount. I basically have to down a pint. That seems to be the only thing keeping me from eating it now.. so I don't crave it as much anymore, because of that.

Textbook #1
Read chapter 5 of 21

Review Questions
Chapter 5 (28 cards)

Real Test Questions
Learned 30 cards (160/2,300)

Nice workout. Pull ups felt strong so tried maxing out lol.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJsEi5OL1D8

Still need to make and learn cards for chapter 4 dammit. I'll try to do it tomorrow, and read and learn cards for two chapters tomorrow to catch up a bit. By this weekend I want 14 chapters completed!

My left knee has some more fluid in it now after playing yesterday. Also kinda hurts but that's probably because I banged it twice, not because of the underlying issue I've been going to PT for. I have PT tomorrow morning again.

that pullup rep looked strong-as-fuq.

unrelated but, saw this yesterday on github and it's actually a decent little security checklist (mostly for web-dev):

https://github.com/FallibleInc/security-guide-for-developers/blob/master/security-checklist.md

curious to see how that grows.. had like 9k stars yesterday, now 11k .. so i imagine lots of people will end up contributing to it.

^^^ that food looks boss

hah ya. I must say, i agree. ;f

The fact that i'm taking photos of these meals, is also making me want to try new ideas out.. which is pretty fun.

one really good self cooked meal a day, is basically my motto right now.

Man it's killing me. I normally see your IG photos early morning (time difference) when I'm not eating for another 5-6 hours and it makes me hungry as fuck. :pissed: lol

hahah!

i recently subbed to some food porn ig's .. so now that's happening to me as well. They've given me some nice ideas so far. Need to find some better ones though.

pretty tired today because of the sleep schedule wreckage. got lots of programming done though. hopefully i can pass out soon and wakeup early again. I definitely prefer it over staying up late. dogs like it too, they get to play alot more.

How do you find those full court run ups?

I liked them. First time ever performing runups from that far. I tried to build speed for the entire runup, but sometimes I had to re-gather myself.

I also didn't attempt to build maximum speed (but speed was decent) or do a max effort jump, so it was probably alot easier because of that. But even so, I can feel it breaking a "mental barrier" in a sense. I haven't had the confidence to even attempt runups from that far out, so simply feeling confident about attempting it was interesting.

Quote
I want to try these soon as it mimics what I usually experience in games when I have attempted dunks.

ya makes sense. i'd start with half court first though.. if you still want to do full court, could run slow until half court, then build the runup from there.. but i wouldn't try accelerating from full court right from the getgo.. i imagine you'd feel lots of "inhibition" if you try to runup from too far out.

pc!

Yes it's that mental barrier/inhibition that I get. Like if I go faster I'll be out of control.
I imagine half court would be enough though. When I get on a fast break and I build speed and go into a layup relaxed I get plenty of height. It's pushing for that extra few inches that's the problem.

not thinking is important.. those amazing in-game jumps that happen out of nowhere ... not thinking.

wish i could turn off my conscious temporarily and just explode. maybe it would be less enjoyable, but, that's what video cameras are for (playing it back .. :)

I do it but my problem is I don't even think about dunking. Did a fast break layup last week and probably had enough height to easily dunk it but in my mind all I'm thinking is layup. When I think dunk I tense up. I just think more dunking practice is in order.

ya, longer runup jumps and dunk practice will definitely help. need to make it more of a 'reflex', because if we think about dunking in game, too much, can really turn us into crap bball players. Everyone's played with those people who are only looking for dunks, it's usually annoying. hah.

Tomorrow is just a 20 minute run on the track, just getting in a little bit of some final volume, going to focus on a little bit of speed but just mainly form(as much as Ik) and just trying to keep a relaxed pace and heart rate. I have the 1.5 mile run on wednesday so a 20 minute run should be 2.xx miles, looking for 17 minutes range for 2 miles tomorrow.

Also, I think I am catching the crossfit fever again, the women are just so hot lol The skandinavian women, just think about the genetics potential there for a future powerlifter, strongman or crossfitter.

trying to find that perfect soul for your seed to sprout? lul.

ya those xfit chicks are ridic. I personally still prefer T&F women.

didn't get the job :(

was told the department had an excellent response from me but they decided to go with someone who fits the job better

well shit, at least it means i can fake my way to a job with 3+ years experience and i have zero... i've learned enough from my MS degree and these certs that I appear to have a ton of knowledge from experience as well.

damn!! that's unfortunate.

all good though, sounds like you'll land something solid fairly soon.. especially if you keep certing up.. :f
