Hmmmmm......

By the way - check out how bad this guy had it improving his back squat:

Wow. All strength it looks like. Hus run up/jumps don't look 'athletic' he just powers through it. Wonder how long it took him to get there?

I could. I usually stay away from leg presses because I don't like the position they put my lower back on. Doing 1/4s or halves though that may not come into play.

Did a quick back/bicep/core workout this morning. Weighed in at 180 again. Bleh.

Anyway,
Monday May 26 2014
BW: 180-182lbs.

Dynamic warmup/handful of jumps

Sqauts:
(Warmups) 135x5, 225x5, 275x1, 325x1
(Work sets) 275x5, 275x5, 275x5, 225x8. Felt very explosive on the first set and the backoff, middle sets weren't as explosive on reps 3-5.

Lunges/stepups:
Set of 12 each at 100lbs

Calf raises (on leg press):
450lbs x12, x12, x12. Weaaaak. Going to keep volume up on these.

Did some leg extensions as well, did not like. Next time I'll probably end with some quarter squats for reps as a finisher. Definitely have quad soreness now. Good stuff.

Tis true. Most make you wonder how in the world you missed them lol!

Lol yea a little stuffed bear that said get better or something on it. It was at the front of the store as I was checking out with the ice cream so I grabbed it. Impulse buy....sure, but she liked it.

And hell, I got her ice cream and a stuffed animal while I was gone lol :)

Yea I left, she'd been telling me too for hours, she's very independent. Her best friend was with her and she's stabilized so I wasn't worried. Not too mention she said she slept better without me there, I make too much noise moving around in that chair she says. If she wasn't stable and recovering I would have never left for sure.

Couldn't sleep at the hospital=drove 45 minutes to the 24/7 gym with a court. Got an hour long skills session in. Worked on some new counters off the cross over and spin moves and hammered the single dribble mid range j until it felt smooth. Went well for 3am. Jumped, correction, tried jumping afterward but hams are straight jelly. DOMS for real lol! Got one dunk off the dribble and maybe 3 cleanly off lobs. Weaksauce.

Props. My post work out stretching is usually 25-30mins. Half that on off days lol

Good point on the dorsiflexion, I've been working it every day and its almost back to where it was pre injury. I think I may have been catching it slightly forward as well.

The seated calf raises felt great lol! Going to try and push them hard on deadlift day and keep my usual calf raises to squat day.

I didnt go too hard on the deads, I'll experiment with putting cleans first next week. Thanks!

Wow. That long jump. Ughhhh.

That slow mo is reallly interesting Raptor. I'm curious, you primarily SL jumpers, do you have a longer last step like that or is it a short quick step?
