Progress Journals & Experimental Routines / Re: Age vs Vertical
« on: May 13, 2015, 07:46:01 pm »
Yeah these all sound like good ideas... it's weird but when I don't run maximally I "think" about my running and start moving really weird or having my muscles shut down randomly on random strides that I take - like I have my hips collapse or knees collapse or muscles lock down, I can't keep either a relaxed nor a stiff "pace".

I'm just too much of an overanalyser/obsessed on thinking about stuff and what's going on and all that jazz. If you combine that with my current mental state you get weird running behavior... I have never heard anybody else saying similar stuff to what I'm saying here.

Would you recommend something similar to this thing above for fat loss? Like, one mile run (never ran more than 2 laps or half a mile, ever, in my life) + tempo runs?

How is your ab definition coming up?

Also, how "different" is it at ~80 kg? In terms of reactivity and stuff like that.

Who establishes that period? Based on when Summer is and you focus on playing outside etc?

When's the last time you were 83.5 kg?

What about broad jumps? You can measure them and put a cone and try to beat it. They're single response so you can focus on them maximally. Same with SVJ.

Maybe I don't know boxing, but how the heck was this a "convincing win by unanimous decision". If it were after me, Manny should've won. More aggressive, more punches hit their target, had the control of the fight etc.

I never understood how people can half squat... but I never bend my legs when I walk or jump or sprint anyway.

Lel you're saying all that? What if you were me training for 8 years consistently now struggling to high bar squat 95x5x5 kg?

Did you dunk off one or two feet?

And by the way... how the heck are you only 22?! I thought you're 27 or so, you've been training for a ton of time.

Completely agree. I think one thing that is not discussed enough is the overload that is occuring during plyos, that can't otherwise be replicated in the gym.

So in terms of CNS training to accept that overload in terms of not shutting down the muscles and also accepting that tension in the associated tendons (the tendons themselves have to adapt etc) - that is underrated with plyos.

For example, right now I can dunk on 2.95 off a standing vertical jump, but off even one step I jump lower. I just can't "cope" with the overload, as little as it is, that is occuring. Maybe it's the body position that is different (legs not under me) or whatever, but I feel the collapse occuring.
