interesting article about the best US ultrarunner trying to qualify for tokyo in the marathon. the upcoming olympic trials will be the first actual marathon he's ever run.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/11/magazine/ultrarunning-marathon-olympics.html

yea he's an absolute beast. welmsley could probably get 2:11 or so maybe.

I feel like top-3 will be 2:10+ .. should be a dog fight at the end by several folks. don't think he'll be in the top 3 mix but i think he could be close. would be nuts if he got top 3.

People say rupp is a lock for top 3 but i'm not so sure. I just don't think he's healthy.

i think it'll be Ward, Fauble, maybe Stinson (if he's healthy) or even Bernard Lagat. I think Bernard will be able to hang longer than most expect. Plus he's just so damn skilled & rises to the occasion. Would love to see him make the marathon squad. That would be so mindblowing.

For women, i think it'll be Hall, Sisson, Linden.

I think Hassay won't be healthy either. Her & Rupp (both from project Oregon), seem wrecked lately. Sux.

pc!

edit: Stinson dropped out. fuuq. https://www.runnersworld.com/news/a31084206/parker-stinson-withdraws-from-2020-olympic-marathon-trials/

took my friend (also my boss) to the tennis match today. dad couldn't go unfortunately.

turned out to be a sick match and perfect weather.

Opelka vs Raonic

Opelka won in 3 sets. Then he had to play again 3 hours later, and won in another 3 setter.

next year i'm going to get my dad & I some court side seats, like literally on the court. that'll be cool. i'd love to watch it from that close.

damn.

fury punctured wilder's ear drum in the first knockdown (blood coming out of his ear), and potentially broke wilder's jaw before that, from the looks of the blood in his mouth.

not sure how wilder hung in there that long, looking so wrecked. he couldn't do anything though, seemed so weakened/unstable from that first knock down.

sux. bummed.

gypsy king dominant performance.

i've been wondering which ones made it.. purple? red? pink? gold? etc..

got a gold one. wonder what the other ones are.

i tons of other stuff growing too. lots of good stuff this week.

Fury/Wilder tmw. can't wait.

Hope Wilder gets a sick KO on him. Fury going to be running/boxing all night. He says he's going to try to KO Wilder but i seriously doubt it. He's felt that power.

leggo WILDER.

200220 First outdoor tranining in a month or so.
Thanks Andrew.  I ran 30min with my kid outdoor with mask on first the first time in months.
Not sure if it is safe... But we did it anyway.

Shortage of Mask is crazy...people start to buy out rice/tissue paper and all sort of sanitizing stuff .

School has been suspended for 2 months and it is unclear when will be resumed.
Online study is starting to happen...

Seems like beside China, Japan is taking a hit also.

Stay alert, one infected dude can spread this like wild fire.

damn man. fuuuuck. and ya i hear japan is having a bigger outbreak. not good.

i got a few supplies already. i really need to get more. seems like it'll eventually spread here, i mean the cdc is saying it most likely will etc.

"Stay alert, one infected dude can spread this like wild fire."

scary stuff.

i refresh this multiple times per day and it's always bad:

just thought this was cool. i mean nils has a strong presence in the dunk game. if he says one of my dunk mixes is top 3, i'll brag about it. :ninja: :ninja: :ninja:

itsnils (nils wagner, founder of hoopmixtape)

i remember when he linked the "i promise you" dunk mix on hoopmixtape. i think he really liked the vid.. but hardly anyone else did. got a flood of thousands of haters. still cracks me up.

this week's pepper stash.

i got a few green & red bell now, also a banana pepper! ;f

ate half of that today.. will eat the other half tmw.

love it.

Quote
just this week's home grown peppers. (also some of last week's in 2nd photo). the green bell are the toughest to grow so far, they break the branches when they get heavy. insects love them too. jalapeno is the easiest so far. i get a good batch every week.
