Indeed , and here his hand has a huge angle , the difference with some frames before touching the board is obvious.
For freaks in the 50'' area , head height is more useful for calculating.
But for all of us caught in the mid/low/high 30's , highest touch is the way , so its really funny/nice to see someone like Darlington attempt a highest touch...

+1. high touch is most accurate by far for anyone touching ~11'4 or less.. dont even need a vertec.

Hey man, how is SpikeJon fat? He is not ripped, but he doesn't have to be. It's not that he is training for aesthetics afaik. He is a volleyball player, trying to get strong and luckily he is not of the opinion that he needs to be 5% bf to get his vertical up...

+1 spikejon is not fat. however, 5% bf cant hurt vert.

hit 37.5! 

had a 1st jump of 34, about 5 35s, 8 34s, a 36.5, and a 36. used my usual stim, and had about 12 shits today. (not exaggerating)

i was flying today! yay!    today was an emotional day. it was my mom's birthday and 1 day after my lizards' birthday. unfortunately, my lizard died about 4 hours prior to jumping. this session was dedicated to him. also, thanks to everyone who supports me, posts in my journal, or even just briefly skims through it from time to time. reading all the nice comments on my journal makes me happy. i consider all of you friends. hopefully, my recent gains can be transferred over to you guys. good luck with your training! PS- im not retiring from vert. i realize that post sounds like it though lol

I'm not sure I'd ever done ten-rep squat sets as work sets before. That's definitely what made me nauseous after I was done working.

10 rep squats are tough man. i hate those. gets you strong though.

yo adarq on the bodyweight plan we doing this week, i dont wanna pay 10 bucks to go to the gym and only use the sl hyper extension bench. its a bit of a waste of $. can we replace sl hypers with something else? we were doing 4x10, 4x8, and 3x5 on a,b,and c for hypers.  check my learning journal for the full workout.

awesome article raptor! im definitely the strength jumper with the longer runup. u nailed it though for me with the curve in runup, longer gct, long last step, hip dropping, and  hip rotation.

EDIT- I do wonder why im a strength jumper when i have a low squat (~1.3 bw) and weak lunge (~1.2bw)  my reactivity is good as evidenced by my 8-10 inch gap between svj and rvj and my long runup

i dreamed i was someone else.... some like, fat computer tech guy.. very odd.. i was going through some land where sharks and shit lived on the land, floating around.. so i was traversing that landscape for a while.. then we're in a casino, me and my co-worker, then it kind of turns into the red light district, then there were more sharks floating around in that casino/hotel.. then i woke up in the dream as myself video taping my workout yesterday, but video taping pullups/dips, which i didn't do..

then i woke up.

wtf?

u were brucelee. fat tech guy, theres sharks in cali, hes horny and wud want to go to red light district, and is a few hours drive from vegas
