Ya plenty of tempo and low intensity plyo, nothing was actually wrong with it before it ruptured and it wasn't exactly at the front of my mind.

Did the plenty of tempo and low intensity plyo's replicate the amount of strain applied to it during rugby training?.

Maybe it was just bad luck.

Since your considering sprinting, I would be very weary from now that your prone to Achilles problems. You need to put an awful lot of consideration/thinking/conditioning into those achilles. Powerlifting alone won't cure the problem. Keep them conditioned at all times as the loads during sprinting on the Achilles are incredible.

So I stopped logging my training about a month ago with a hamstring tear that I was rehabbing. Finally got back to close to full health and started going back out to rugby practice and today I had a partial rupture of my Achilles cutting during practice.

After hamstring rehab, did you do any conditioning for your Achilles such as running to build-up its tolerance?.

Seems to me like you went into it too fast, too soon with no respect with just how much pressure you apply to the Achilles when running?.

Quote
Himalayan crystal saltSea salt - Subjected to pollution, sea salt has irregular and isolated crystalline structures disconnected from the natural elements surrounding them. Thus, however many vital minerals it may contain, they cannot be absorbed by your body unless the body expends considerable energy to do so.

Common table salt at best is useless, and at worst a destructive toxin that can lead to heart disease, high blood pressure and fluid retention. (This is why doctors tell us to use less salt in our diets). It has been stripped of its trace minerals, leaving sodium and chloride, and has been further treated by adding an anti-caking agent, to make it free-flowing. Therefore it builds up in the body and leaves deposits in organs and tissue, causing health problems.

We need salt - It is essential for maintaining healthy functioning of the cells, nerve conduction, digestion, absorption and elimination of waste products. Whereas common table salt can be detrimental to our health, natural crystal salt is reported to have healing properties.

seated toe raiser 65# 3x10

Awesome. Just discovered the potential of these.

No Windlass Mechanism = No fully functioning fascial winding of the body. All sprinters seem to have great toes.

I have found out, again and again, that I screw my dunks and jumps up because whenever I plant I tend to have my chest oriented quite a bit towards the ground and I look into the ground most of the time. That REALLY screws everything up, from not being able to use my glutes and jumping "pulling my chest up" to jumping forward.

Maybe a core stability issue.

Anyone have any thoughts on this 'balls to the wall' training method?.

aches/injuries = ankles slightly, AFTER DUNKING: right knee tendonitis (think bike ride aggravated it again..)

Proper seat height as well as riding a bike that fits perfectly is essential.

Without respecting this, 'most' cyclist's will fuk up there knees every time.

You will need to go & do a custom bike fit at a bike shop to make certain. Don't keep riding, you will fuk yourself up.

It's like "inseason" for me at this point. So it doesn't make sense to go all out with squatting only to go to the park and suck hard at dunking and playing ball.

Don't you have to be relatively fit to play full court ball?, in terms of work capacity/conditioning?.

How does squatting increase work capacity/conditioning?, (to a good extent)?.

I know putting out a 10km+ distance average in a 90min soccer match (still play soccer), you need FAR more than a decent squat/strength-weight ratio. If I did no conditioning work, but had the squat of Andy Bolton, I would be legless after the game (well I would probably be legless at the end of the 1st half actually).

Does squatting alone set you up for full on agility fest?. OK, your not NBA standard, but those boys must put in tons of conditioning work to get through a full game?.

Shouldn't you actually be thinking way past just strength/squatting?.
