I played pick up basketball for 2 hours with some friends. We played half court 4 on 4 and were 'king of the court' for the majority of the games. Afterwards we were doing dunks and I landed 3 out of about 20 attempts. I used to be able to dunk off the dribble but I can't anymore. I can only get dunks holding the ball and running up towards the hoop without bouncing so I can get a good grip. My left achilles is now in agony but it feels like the left achilles did after every rugby game in 2018.

3 weeks until I see the surgeon. I'm counting down the days. Once I get surgery I won't be able to train for a while but I'm planning on sticking to a strict diet to avoid putting on weight/body fat.

Edit- My RVJ must be around 35 inches currently. I'm able to touch the rim from SVJ so that's 26 inches (5'11 with a 7'10 reach). I've always been much more of a reactive athlete than an explosive one.

biked on Thursday 2 hrs
Hiked on Friday for 3hrs
Ran 10km on Saturday  1.25 hrs

If you haven't been doing much cardio that's quite a lot for your body/knees to absorb within 3 days even if it is low impact compared to squatting or doing max effort jumps.

@Coges Thanks bro. I haven't played rugby for 2 seasons now due to my chronic achilles issue but I've decided I'm going to get surgery on it. I've got an appointment booked with an Orthopedic Surgeon on the 2nd of November (can't get in any quicker due to COVID) so hopefully I'll have it operated on before the end of 2020. Gym wise I think it's just been getting some motivation back and being consistent with training.

@LBSS haha it felt heavy and slow

There is carry over between flat bench and db bench, but if you want to get strong at db bench you'd be better off just focusing on db bench over bb flat bench. One of my old team mates from rugby has bad shoulders so he can't do anything over 100kg on flat bench because it puts too much pressure on his shoulders. Yet he can rep out 50kg dbs.

Gym
My gym is closed for renovations but I go to Anytime Fitness so they have a lot of gyms throughout the city. I went to one at Mitchell Park, which is about 10km from my home and it's actually got lots more equipment then my current gym, which is awesome. They have db's that go up to 60kg (132lbs). They also have a sled and some other cool bits and pieces that I'll experiment with next time I train.

Bench-
barx12
60x6
100x3
112.5x1
120x1
107.5x3x3
82.5x10

Incline DB-
12x8
26x8
28x8
30x8

Chin Ups-
12x3

SVJ 3x3 with barbell

Jump rope 50 skips and walked on the treadmill for about 30 minutes.
