fuck the man.

Yep the only way to beat a bully is to stand up to the bully. The clubs getting a lot of support so hopefully a good outcome eventuates out of this. Honestly it was heartbreaking doing what we did but we genuinely believe a dramatic stance had to be taken because all other channels of communication have failed over the years and the administration is killing the game we all love. If we get reform out of this we have achieved our mission. In the meantime we'll continue stacking up tens of thousands of views on social media.

Well my rugby league season is now officially over. Unfortunately we ended up boycotting the Grand Final, which I was going to play in as my ribs are now recovered (You can see me wearing the Green boots). We boycotted the Grand Final as a result of corruption by the head organisation and we were just sick of their bullshit and undemocratic ways that they run the comp. Unfortunately the media twisted the story and tried to make as out like thugs who were upset about suspensions, which were only the tip of the iceberg.

At this stage the NRL are launching an investigation but it's not looking good for the club. They might kick our senior teams out the comp next year and suspend everyone for a year. But at least we stuck it up to the man on the day :headbang:

Filled in for the ball team last night. Caught a bounce pass about 5 mins in and the ball felt like it had an egg in it. I stopped and looked at the ball. No problems there. Put my hand back on it and felt the same thing again. Passed the ball off and it was only then that I noticed the first knuckle on my finger had dropped. Two hospital visits and an x-ray later and I have ruptured the extensor tendon on the right hand ring finger. Now I've got 8+ weeks in a splint to look forward to. I have that FML feeling going on but this presents some opportunities to work on things I wouldn't normally work on so there's always that.

The worst part is when you have to shake hands with people it's like you're praying that they aren't one of those types that give bone crunching firm handshakes. Awful luck with the injury. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Yeah it would be good to see NBL v ACC Teams. The NBL teams are hardly full strength though as it's an off season game full of bench and development players.

Fuck drugs!

Hopefully for Chris's sake he can overcome the adversity, stay clean, and get back to the AFL against the odds just like how he made it to the AFL to begin with. This guy is an absolute jet and was one of the most exciting players in the game with his running bounces and skill level.

I don't understand the transition from "I despised drugs" to "I tried ice that night". To me that's unfathomable.

Glad he seems recovered, but he probably did alot of damage to his body/brain on that stuff.. :/

Also what's up with the running bounces? Does he have to do that in order to keep running with the ball or something?

Yes I found that weird as well how he went from despising drugs to trying them. He said in the video he wanted to try ice to "have a good night". I can only speculate that he was in a bad state of mind mentally at the time. It's sad that it came as a result of a family member though bringing him down and shit. Ultimately he did it to himself but it's still shows the negative influences that you can have around you when you go back to somewhere that you worked so hard to overcome from  :(

If not physically he's definitely damaged himself mentally. As you know I'm not big on religion at all but it's encouraging (if he is clean) that his newfound faith is helping him overcome his addiction. The rehab story was unsurprising. I remember seeing a documentary about another one of my favourite players (Ben Cousins) who also had an ice addiction and the stuff that the 'professionals' would put in his mind was soo self-defeatist and you just knew that he was bound to get back on the pipe.

In Aussie Rules football you need to bounce the ball every 15 meters.

"The dark horse is Perth boy Chris Yarran. He is so shy he barely says a word, even to other boys at camp. His father is serving a lengthy prison sentence and perhaps it is this, or some other sense of insecurity, that keeps him hiding under the peak of his cap. But when he plays footy, he comes alive".

The best things about my new gym are the 24hr access and the equipment, but they're only just enough to overcome the proliferation of gym-bro's. So many gym-bro's at these places...There's also a PT there who is just abysmal, spends more time on his phone than supervising his clients. One time I was there he was training a guy on squats and was loading the bar up way too much. The PT is on his phone while the clients walks 130kgs out, shaking so much he looks like he's about to blast off into orbit, does three half-squats and nearly falls over backwards on the last rep, just managed to save it. PT comes over: "How were those mate??" "Yeah good mate".

we should make a thread for these stories. my least favourite is how people do rack pulls (or whatever they are) in the racks by dropping hte bar onto the safety pins. Yea go on just permanently bend the bar for your ego. Not talking about huge weights either like always around 80-140kg. just why?

Mate, I bet between you, me, Coges and Mutumbo we could fill a book with the crap you see in commercial gyms here. The dropping of the bar in any deadlift variation really grumbles my Grahams as it's literally half the lift down the toilet.

Haha so true with the book!
