Going strong despite injury... great stuff. On my way to hit some strict press and upper accessories at the moment. You're right I'm not gonna quit now.

is it me or do I look like i've gotten "bigger"? lol.

the lighting is definitely in your favor here ;) you look ripped though. I love how passionate you are about this running stuff. You can really tell by the way you talk about. That's great!

This "elite team" sounds like a great opportunity to further your running career... I say go for it! As you said you aren't obliged to do all your training sessions with them right. So you can still do your solo training and benefit from a driven training group!

And about the not getting younger thing: It's pretty common that endurance athletes perform well into their mid-late thirties or even forties isn't it?

^ Come on, that was not neg-worthy. Not the worst RDL form I've ever seen by a long shot. I posted this at the time he put that up originally, could definitely use more depth for full hamstring development, but it's still moving a lot of weight with a straight back and good hip drive.

not worth getting turnt up about an assistance exercise. coach says i shud keep progressing it up til 230kg and then my grip shud be decent enough to get quality worksets in with 170-180kg with plenty of ROM. That's the hardest part of this lift and it's prob the reason why ppl dont do them heavier b/c they can't hold on to the bar thru the set without losing control. for what it's worth the REASON i do RDLs has nothing to do wiht hams. I do it for a heavy pull for back work. it does get upper back pretty sore which i like. Plenty of hamstring work already not including squats, back extensions and sprints do a decent job. My squat is already pretty PC dominant  (unfortunately) and i do a ton of those.

Fair enough.. I mean there is certainly a place for partial rom exercises and variations in training and if you feel like you benefit more from doing them that way that's fine. Sorry if I came across like a total db. In my opinion it's just a bit misleading if you list them as RDL's and then you see this huge amount of weight and it somehow doesn't make that much sense. Would still be interesting to see how much you can do on a normal conventional deadlift though. It seems like you really are very p-chain dominant. Keep up the awesome progress!

There's no possible way that you are doing RDL's with 215kg for 8 reps and strict form. Otherwise you would be deadlifting at least 250kg or possibly more. I did 170kg for 5 reps on my top set on RDL's last week and I'm able to deadlift 200-210kg or so. Your numbers don't add up.
Even holding 215kg without straps and just hook grip for 8 reps is hard to imagine. Your grip strength must be out of this world.

What I tried in regards to ISO's and worked wonders for my jumping ability was this weird exercise I came up with: It's basically when you are standing you lift one foot up and then violently «push» it in to the ground on the balls of your foot with your leg bent at about the same angle like you would jump and then hold this contraction for a short time, release and repeat for 5 reps or so. You could say it's a kind of overcoming iso but with a fast contraction rather than building it up slowly. It sounds very weird but it teached me to fire my muscles quickly and absorb force more efficiently. I was not doing any strength work at that time but was jumping the highest I ever had.

Edit: I don't know if any of these makes any sense but it would be interesting if this makes any sense but I feel like this «technique» can be applied to various different joint angles and muscles.

Damn she looks like 30 haha... and that back is just sick. Somehow I find a lean/muscular back and shoulders aesthetically way more pleasing than huge arms.

Haha yup... they feel great. I think it's not the worst idea to keep my posterior shoulder and back strong with all the overhead work I'm doing. Still... I might add in some horizontal pressing again. Actually I would love to be able to profgressively overload pushups as I think they are an overall great exercise.

interesting site... I got "proficient" on pretty much all lifts besides an "intermediate" on benchpress and an "advanced" on rows/pullups haha... good job on your progress. You will crush those old PR's of yours in no time!  :headbang:

But to my knowledge china is also one of the only countries where they teach olympic weightlifting in such a systematic way from early childhood on. I mean these kids live there and weightlifting is pretty much the only thing they do day in and day out. Plus I think chinese weightlifters often have optimal proportions (short legs, longer torso). But yeah their methods definitely work. I would consider their technique to be one of the best out there... gotta love those squat jerks :lololol:

I like the very christmassy theme in your journal with all the green +weight increments. Way to go, keep up that progress.  :lololol:

damn that gym looks sick... I'm jelly

I most probably will at some point in the future. Right now I'm putting all my focus on weightlifting and it's hard or almost impossible to increase strength while in a caloric deficit.

Makes sense... naturally I get pretty big without even trying but it's very hard for me to get shredded.
