Can anyone take a guess what the hyper arch mechanism is? I'm thinking you just curl your toes slightly and create a slight arch in the foot.

Interesting....

I agree with this, but obviously it depends on the amount of volume we're talking about.

I've had some very high jumps after going to the gym or doing track work... it's weird because you feel so tired yet you still jump high.

Ive also noticed this phenomenon...

It's a combination of me being naturally skinny and I kind've intermittent fast naturally. For example I had a leg workout at 7 this morning, but my first actual meal wasn't till 5:00 pm. I did have 6 scoops of mag 10 between that period but other than that I have no appetite till later in the evening.. You will get there man, I would say the biggest piece of advice that is progressing me right now is to stop over analyzing and put in the most amount of effort you can and always try to progress. Sounds simple and I credit this to watching CT Fletcher's YouTube channel. His style of training is spot on for me personally. Today I ramped up to 315lbs full squat 2x PR (great form and only slight grind on 2nd rep) then 20 rep attempt with 240lbs hit 12 straight ended up only getting 15 before failing on pins.. So I was thinking forget that and put the bar back up and hit the rest of the 5 I needed to hit to get to 20. Next was Bulgarian split squats rest pause to failure then dropped dumbells then finished off with BW.. Then a glute isolation cable machine lots of reps and sets didn't really count.. Last was a drop set on back extensions... So a lot of volume and reps ... And windmilling is all technique!! You will get there man!! Only one way to go and that is up!!

Looking buff!

Haha I appreciate the complement!  I'm 6'3 a little over 200lbs right now, on a quest to look like Mike Rashid.

hey man, just saw you online for the first time in ages. How's training going? Good to see you back.

Haha sorry for the really ridiculously late reply... But yeah I haven't been on the forum much and just happened to see your reply.. I did recently post some recent vids of training.. Squat strength is around 300lbs for 5 reps .. 235lbs 21 reps.. But two foot is around the same.. Been focusing more on bodybuilding..

Entropy are you still on front squats mostly?

I saw the videos -- 235x21 is legit, nice work! I'm really surprised to hear that your double leg vert hasn't gone up. That's usually the one surefire thing which goes up with the squat. So weird. Wonder why.

I'm still on front squats ,lol, still mediocre but slowly getting better. My main focus has been on backsquat for the last 3 months though but ive found if my bs goes up my fs does too which is cool. So ive only been <10 reps of fronts a week and that's been enough to keep progressing.

I adopted your goal of touching the top of the backboard square (a 36" double leg leap for me). have been steadily training towards it this year. i'm just in the middle of a squat intensification phase after which i should have enough leg strength for 2xbw squats (both front and back) for when i'm done cutting sometime next year. will this convert to a 36" vertical? i dont know, we'll have to see. although i think the chances are good cause even while fat right now (202lb) i can still dunk without any jump practice so perhaps being like 30lb lighter i'll be able to jump out of the gym lol.

keep posting man, you should start a log !

Thanks!! My whole mindset right now on squats is to try to hit a 1-6 rep pr followed by increasing my 20 rep squats. Adding 5 lbs the next workout every time time I hit 20 reps. I believe my jumping is getting better, but the way my nervous system is wired I have to play basketball and be around competition for me to really have a good jumping day which would consist of touching the top of square or windmilling.. I would say your goal is definitely achievable. The best part about touching the top of the square is doing it front of everybody right before a game and looking at their faces, lol.. An expression of "oh shit" is what I usually see.

yeah rippetoe talks about this, too, in starting strength. "spreading the floor" has been a good cue for me in the past when i feel myself being a unstable.

btw i just realized that starting strength is currently the 741st best-selling book on amazon, which means it's selling something like 800-1000 copies a month. rippetoe publishes the book himself, so he's probably netting like $10k/month just on starting strength sales. not too shabby, especially if you live in BFE, texas.

Whhaatt!? Well kudos to Rip for that..

So has it turned into a cutting game for Scoob now... To get those last couple of inches

Raw ground beef

Were you being serious? I know some old school bodybuilders use to eat raw ground beef and raw eggs.. Armand Tanny, Vince Gironda

I love the game not a big fan of the movie.

I always set it to hardest setting, thats when it becomes challenging.
I didn't find the story that hard to follow, they were jumping stories i.e. hitman 1, 2, then 3.

I'm the opposite, loved the movie but didn't like the story for Hitman Absolution.. Although the gameplay is always fun, personally I thought there were some unrealistic glitches during the game play though

We're you 14% body fat in that video? Because it didn't look like it.. Nice jump!!

Did the same damn thing 5 days ago!! I was actually doing a snatch grip rack pull, no ego lifting but some reason I felt a twinge in my lower back.. Now it seems my whole lower back is locked up to prevent further injury. I think it's a sprain and hopefully not a disc problem.. No shooting leg pain or anything.. But I can't even sneeze without it acting up..

Avishek- has yours healed completely, how long did it take? Can you still deadlift?

I can't even dunk in my Air Force uniform... Don't even feel right, boots are too immobile and heavy. Let alone windmill..  I didn't think anyone could make a windmill more awesome

Just checked his uniform, he was wearing Airforce ABUs not Army... Nice
