Hello

I introduced myself already so now I'll show you some of my dunks. Still looking for some power and I know I can do this with regularly work which I didn't have last year because of injury.

Here's my youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/maverickdaw?feature=mhee

and there you can check one of my last dunk session. My older videos before injury / lower rims and many others you can see too

Yeah , his 43'' RVJ claim looks legit, highflyer!!! Looking forward to his journal, his strength is rather low so he has even greater jumping potential!
Target training paces (min/km), calculated from 5K PR 22:49 :
Easy run : 5:48
Tempo run : 4:50
VO2-max run :4:21
Speed form run : 4:02

---

it's the biggest trick in the run game.. go slow to go fast. it doesn't make sense until it smacks you in the face and you're like ....... wtf?

He has those ridiculous quads though... I guess bumping up his posterior chain strength will both increase his jumps and prevent overuse knee injuries.

impressive jumping. :headbang:

if you want to lessen the stress to your knees from the jumps, hang on to the rim after a dunk for a few seconds so you land squared and only from a 30+ drop.

thanks for this tip Kingfish - that might be helpful.  it's not possible to do with every dunk but I'll try this for sure next time, but right now I'm doing some break because I'm back at the gym. today I squat 100kg 5 times in last series with a little trouble so my power isn't as good as I thought. and Raptorel - speaking about my posterior chain and abs- I think my abs are strong  really , I have couple of pictures too, I work with my abwheel and usually when I'm working at the gym I do couple of exercises for my posterior chain but it's not priority so maybe you're right. About 3 years ago I was focusing on deadlift to and I did lift 135kg two times. I could increase my power in this muscles too but right now i'm focusing on the squat and maybe I'll add some dynamic exercises too like power clean, hang clean, jump shrug

yeah I watched this and it gave me some new infos. I will work on my hips too because as you see I'm more knee athletes and especially off the dribble I bent my knees so much

I swear I don't get the 2-leg jump... how can people plant like that and not have their legs slip from underneath them is beyond me.

Man! THAT'S the type of speed I need to carry into my plant! Very fluid!

thanks Chris. This year I worked a lot under my dynamics and I think it's good.  but im still looking for some power. last year before my injuries I had a lot of power but I was not dynamic as much. So I'm hope that after 2 months of gym workout I'd be able to jump higher

and Raptor- earlier I jumped off 1 leg much more, but I had very often weak jumps like empty jumps, I didn't feel that I'm using enaugh power and before I was close to the rim I knew that this jump is shitty. thats one of the reasons why I finished with my jumps off 1 leg, but I can still jump pretty high off 1 feet. I'll make jumps off right and left leg to show you how it looks like. But it's not dynamic as off 2 legs I guess

That sounds eerily familiar lol! I used to be abig one leg jumper as well til a knee injury. Now, while I still jump off of one alot in games, I feel more stable/stronger off two. I used to be very reactive but since lifting I've gotten 'slower', going to try to find my quickness again by doing more 'explosive' lifts after the season.

hehe looks really similar :)  yes, dynamic lifts and mostly plyometrics and ofcourse a lot of tries and jumps that is what help me to increase my dynamics

It's due to the quads overgrowing everything else IMO. When that happens you become a 2-leg jumper. It never happened for me though.
