a jump (or something) from centro .. looks decently high, especially for "runner".

Was going thru Klokov's instagram and i came across a vid he put up of him trying a vertec, he got 36" btw. I imagine at his peak as an athlete and if he trained for the vertical leap he'd have like a 60" vertical or something? just found it interesting. dude fucks around and hits 36" smh. no link available, you'll have to follow him to see it, it's private

if by 60" you meant 40"? typo? lmfao!!

also, this is perhaps the worst post i've seen on this forum.. next time please provide a link, i want to see it without searching!! WTF!

:D

I imagine at Klokov's peak he might be able to hit a legit <= 42" or so.. much lower than the debated 60". He's probably alot lighter now (correct?) than when he competed (105kg after weight cutting), he also lifts & trains pretty hard still.

I'd say these NFL freaks have a better chance at setting "world records" in legit SVJ than pretty much any other type of athlete.. They are fast twitch monsters, sprint/accelerate all day, lift hard etc. NFL db's seem to be the perfect specimen for SVJ.. though some of the biggest SVJ numbers are from RB's, WR's and LB's.

awesome article:

http://www.cheatsheet.com/sports/what-are-the-highest-vertical-jumps-in-nfl-scouting-combine-history.html/?a=viewall

Lots of defensive backs (corners, safeties) etc.. That back pedaling & those quads. But still massive number (45) for Cameron Wake @ 45" being a line backer.

These dudes are insane.

If I had to choose between NFL vs Olympic Weightlifters in an SVJ competition, i'd go with NFL. I think the speed component is what gives them the edge. Oly Lifters are perhaps "slowed down" just enough to affect their SVJ technique in regards to reaching their peak potential. Meanwhile, these nfl guys are always just primed and ready to launch with speed/power. They lift heavy/hard but they aren't at all overly adapted to it & thus slowed down like an elite weightlifter/powerlifter would be.

I'd love to see SVJ competitions or something though, then we'd really see.. Athletes from different sports/disciplines competing for $$ with SVJ.

pc!

It's interesting how some of the biggest SVJ numbers are from RB's and WR's. I think it's obvious with LB's and DB's having great SVJ as most of them have brute strength. I would expect the RB's and WR's to have awesome RVJ as they are lighter and would have better re-activity and speed than their heavier NFL counterparts. I guess that shows just how much power to weight they have though considering their SVJ numbers.

i'd put RB's in there with DB's though .. RB's are crazy in the brute strength department and usually weigh lighter/are shorter than LB's. WR's i'm definitely surprised though. I'd suspect they'd struggle a bit more given their "length".

ya man these dudes are such freaks. I haven't been watching the NFL combine much over the last few years, but I do watch the highlight videos of the best performances.

A combine where athletes from various backgrounds competed in SVJ, RVJ, 40 yard dash, broad jump, pushups/dips, pullups, and fuck it, an 800m run.. would be sick. :D

if you log into your instagram account on your web browser you should be able to follow the link provided you follow him

soz, link added! He says he weighs 112kg, which is what his competing weight was, i think, i remember reading he would cut 5-8kg for comps to compete at 105

I agree that NFL players would win but they train for athleticism don't they? so it's not really a fair comparison cos they've been running and jumping for their sport. Klokov doesn't do those things, so for him to get a 36" it's a baseline value, maybe if he trained to jump and run it would be more fair. But i agree with you that football athletes are impressive athletes.

ahhh i remember now, his account is private. that actually makes more sense.

nice jump for 246 lb.

but ya i doubt he'd break 45" in his peak of oly lifting and jumping alot. there's definitely a possibility he could though.. 50+ tho??? nah.

RBs are bigger than DBs as a rule.

watching the russian animal dude made me think about how much MORE freaky the likes of byron jones, antonio brown, ezekiel elliott, ODB, etc. are.

that guy plays american football in russia. the bush leagues. NFL players are INSANELY athletic.
Muscles are nonsensical they have nothing to do with this bullshit.

this has been posted before, but not in reference to the original high jump competitions in the olympics.
