I'm sure Verkhoshansky's methods didn't work since he was old and couldn't jump. He was definitely wrong about everything. He was good in his prime when he could jump, but not later on when he got older and couldn't. It was then when his training theories went out the window.

Yeah, not sure if it's too safe for the back either, you might want to compensate because of the pain by adjusting the back position/angle etc.
