If I recall correctly, beginners cave in their knees because they are too weak. These guys cave in their knees intentionally to fully activate quads while coming out of the hole.

A lot of these guys cave in their knees while squatting (during practice, not just in competitions):

Weak? Weak relatively to what?

I'd say the "strong" guys will be weak against their PR, therefore displaying the same weaknesses that weak people display against their own PR.

Either way, they're caving in intentionally, and I doubt they get hurt since they don't cave in excessively. They do it all the time during practice, when they're repping weights

I don't know about "intentionally". I don't have any resource to prove me they do it intentionally.

No sources either, but when I do it with light weights, I feel it in quads more. Also, they're pro lifters/ olympic lifters, and they video themselves, so I'm pretty sure they're aware of it.
