protein intake limit per meal

I weigh 150 lbs, so I try to get in 150g of protein a day.  Sometimes I do this with meals with with a lot of protein at once, for example I get a footlong big philly cheese steak at subway for lunch, which has about 80 g of protein.  Is it okay to do it like this, or do we need to get 30ish g a meal and spread out these meals throughout the day?

Sometimes, I buy some rotisserie chicken and eat the whole chicken (no skin) at once, prolly over 200 g of protein in that.  Does this take care of my protein needs for that day?  Or does only some of it get used?
Goal is to dunk.

Vertical needed to dunk: 40"

Current vertical : 38.5"

I've heard two things from different people. one is that your body can't absorb a high amount of protein at once so it excretes out most of it. Others think it's fine to eat loads of protein in one sitting.

Personally I think it's better to have your protein gradually throughout the day in smaller meals with protein shakes maybe to make it easier for you.

What I've been doing is making a protein smoothie in the morning  to take to work with me. I put in a bunch of frozen mixed summer fruits, about 200g of plain yogurt, some honey to taste (I probably have about 2 tablespoons) and about 2 and a half scoops of unflavoured protein powder.

I usually get up in the morning and have my breakfast (6 weetabix with skimmed milk) at about 6.20 am, have my break at work at about 10 am and have that smoothie along with a little box of pineapple and maybe a few little cakes for extra calories. go to the gym at about 3pm and have a protein shake with 3 scoops afterwards at about 4.20. get home at about 5pm and cook up a huge plate of pasta and grate cheddar cheese on it, let that go down and then cook up 5 fish fingers (not the best thing in the world but I don't really mind) with a bit of ketchup.

I'm trying to gain a little bit of weight/muscle at the mo although I'm still reasonably lean. seems to be working for my strength gains. I weigh 182 lbs.

I went on a bit there didn't I? Hope it's of some help although I'm def not an expert on nutrition (just thought you deserved an answer from someone), this seems to work for me though.

Considering it takes hours for your body to digest the food and for you to "absorb" the protein anyway, the idea that you need 5-6 high protein meals a day is ridiculous.

Just about to say this. Many people reccommend a minimum of 1g protein per pound of bodyweight.

I weigh 200lbs. If the "limit" is 20g every two hours, I would have to eat 10 meals a day with 2 hours in between each. That's 20 hours from the first meal to the next. So, what, I get 4 hours of sleep?

Some people say the limit is 40g every two hours. I would have to eat 5 meals a day with 2 hours in between. That sounds about right, but keep in mind protein will dissolve at different rates depending on what kind of protein it is, how much food is in your stomache already, and what kinds of other foods are in your stomache.

Agreed.  Not necessary to space your protein out.   Just make sure you get some protein post-workout and then you can eat the rest of your protein requirement whenever you want.  Will point out that the 1g/pound mantra is probably an overestimation, especially for strength and power athletes that are not actively trying to cut weight.  If you are not trying to cut weight (and I assume you are not because you are eating a subway philly cheese steak sandwhich) then 100g of protein is more than sufficient for a 150 lb athlete.
