high % protein & variants - 70%, 79%, 90%...

i found a place to source high quality protein locally for reasonable price.  i have a dilemma and want some advice/opinions.  3 proteins i'm looking at:

1. pure whey isolate 90%
2. 80% protein, mix of whey isolate and water soluble protein (difference release rate?), + some kind of enzyme
3. 76% whey isolate protein, +zinc, +magnesium

maybe i'll get all 3 to try...  variety/diversity is good right?  or just get #1?
current stats: age: 42 :: 5'11" (180cm) :: 180lbs (82kg) bf ~30% :: reach: 90" or 7'6" (230cm) :: wing span: 6" (183cm)
12 week goal(current): SQ 115kg(100), DL 130kg(110), BP 80kg(70), reduce weight to 75kg (165 lbs) and bf to ~25%
status: excellent cardio condition, new 5x5 program, 10' rim touch okay, RVJ ~30"
PR RVJ ~34" 10'5" touch @ age ~25 (worst was ~6" below rim when i was @ 190 lbs ~35% body fat ~23" RVJ in 2007-8

Protein is protein and as far as getting fancy with protein, I've seen the difference as 1 kind agrees with my stomach and the other doesnt.  As far as gainz wise, no noticeable differences.

The 3rd option you can just get say 100% optimum with ZMA tablets considering they probably arent dosing the zinc and magnesium enough.

Your best bet is to just try each one out and see which you prefer as far as digestion and taste goes.

This is pretty much spot on advice.  Protein is protein with the exception of collagen protein and soy protein.  Performance wise whey isolate, hydrolyzed whey, predigested whey, whey concentrate are all about the same... Don't spend more money because you think one is better for your performance or progress... Do spend your money on digestion and taste.  If you can't tolerate it or can't stand the taste it's not gonna help because your not gonna use it... Cheapest whey that you like (even that one brand in the red buckets that has a decent amount of sugar and fat is ok in my book)

i went ahead and got #2 and #3 to try.  price difference is not huge between the 3...  i've been sweating so much between lifting, bball, and yoga.  some days doing all 3...  4-6 liter of water i needed to drink.  i guess i might need to think about taking vitamin supplements again.  in the last 3 days i'm always feeling hungry 2-3 hours after a solid meal.  i probably need to start tracking my diet in more details including macros and micros soon to better gauge where i'm really at.
