Today, I was practicing my shooting, and I noticed something interesting. Whenever I kept my back straight, meaning my spine is erected and chest is kind of 'pumped' as if I was showing off my pecs, shooting from a distance was easy and fluid. I am not jumping higher (using more leg strength) when I keep my back straight. Same jump height, same form (ball positioning, arm etc.) but only difference is an erect back as opposed to casual, relaxed , semi-hunched/slouched. From here, my theory is that if I'm still using same amount of power in my shots, yet it seems to be so much easier to shoot from a distance, it must be due that I am utilizing that same power more efficiently. The power transfers into my shot more efficiently if my spine is straight. Then it struck me that maybe when I jump, I should keep my back erected to optimize power transfer.
Can someone provide some insight on this?
Thanks.
