Hello guys  ;) . I am a young boy from Romania.I am fourteen and i am fan of basketball.I play basketball but i have a problem. I can`t jump very much. I think that i jump 8 inch.I made bodybuilding one year and i have big muscle but i don`t have power.I want to know how should i do exercises to grow my muscle power. I want to tell me some workout info and to tell me from your exeperience

8 inch vertical, you sure you didn't mismeasure? HEH..

we're going to need to know alot more about you in order to help you, so check out that free-coaching thread, fill that out, and then we can help you better..

how did you measure this 8" vert? or is this a typo? maybe you meant 28?

AGE:fourteen

HEIGHT: seventy-one inches

WEIGHT:eighty-six kilos

SLEEP SCHEDULE:I sleep ten our but when i have school i sleep seven hours

BODY TYPE: fat but i can do almost everything i want at my weight because i have muscles and it helps me.

GOALS:I want to increase my vertical jump.
 
CURRENT ABILITY:   8 inches

INJURY HISTORY:i didn`t have problems

TRAINING HISTORY & ACHIEVEMENTS:I made bodybuilding, I do exercices at home with dumbbells and play basketball
 
CURRENT ACTIVITY LEVEL AND/OR TRAINING PROGRAM: Medium level

BRIEF OVERVIEW OF CURRENT DIET: I eat fruits,vegetables,eggs and meat.In different days.

IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES: Nothing special

Dude i want to know something.Is airalert2 good for me?
I heard that it is good but it can destroy my muscles  too.I don`t know what to belive 8)

Are you sure you only jump 8 inches, the lowest vert i've ever seen was from a 15 year old kid who was around 100-150 lb overweight and goofy as hell, he jumped 4 inches when I was interning at perfect-competition.. Ironically, he had a jersey with the number "4" on it..

nope, you're disqualified from doing air alert because you mentioned that you are "fat", air alert + fat = not a good combo.

it destroys joints & tendons more than muscles.





Let's be serious though, you're not really looking for REAL help, you just want some quick answers.. if you want some REAL help, fill out that questionnaire with more detail and post it in the progress journals section.

My vert was ~12 inches at 15 years old. :ibjumping:
Current PR status:

All time squat: 165 kg/Old age squat: 130 kg
All time deadlift: 184 kg/Old age deadlift: 140 kg
All time bench: 85 kg/Old age bench: 70kgx5reps
All time hip thrust (same as old age hip thrust): 160kgx5reps

yea dude;)Thanks for this ansers. And i told you that you are good because i saw the videos with exercices which you gave me and i think that you are in that videos;).And you are right.I know what i have to do but i didn`t understand the pylometric exercices,and someone told me that you can explain me ;)

which plyometric exercises? if you running vert is only 8", you shouldn't be thinking about anything advanced, you should be jumping 3-4x/week and playing alot of basketball/sprint-power based sports.
